- With type-41.com/ I am getting familiar the Porsche 911 GT2 RS on some legendary Cote d'Azure roads.
Porsche 911 GT2 RS in La Turbie (legendary hillclimb stretch) and Casino in Monte Carlo, Monaco (F1 stretch).
Teaser: Porsche 911 GT2 RS ride in La Turbie (legendary hillclimb stretch between Monaco and France; in short it was very fun and you could almost say scary.
Instead of Armco you have 100 meters of drop! La Turbie is the cradle of automobile mountain race. In 1897 the winner had an average speed of 31,8 km/h; this time we hade a slightly higher average :)

Got to love the sound, the GT2 RS hisses like a deadly snake
Good driving and overtaking overall. My only question would be your power application through the corners. Several times (for example in 4:50), you did not apply power midway through the corner. This is crucial for rear-engined cars to keep the balance in check. The newer technology and electronics are certainly helping to keep the car on the road, but taking that corner the same way in a pre 90's 911 would send you spinning. My 2 cents :)
Monaco is probably the worst place to drive (and park) a car in southern Europe, but the surrounding roads in the Riviera area are nice. Gus you could ease up a bit when going through those villages? Think if it would be your little daughter running to the street in front of the car for some reason...
The only thing is : its not him driving
3 SLRs, 2 SLSs and a CGT, those were the days
@loster88 Im usually not so scared when going on fast cars all out, but this was scary when the guardrail was non existant and 20 m of drop behind the guardrail. Also most scary downwards.
This has to be one of the best car videos on youtube. Onboard in a GT2RS through the hills of Monte Carlo absolutely superb!!! A true car persons wet dream this is.
This is my all time favorite video. Many years ago, when i was a kid I saw this and fell in love with Porsche. And it's my dream to ride my Porsche on this road.

That was just THE best on board video I have ever seen! Sick car, very nice driving (yeah, it was on public roads, but the driver hasn't done anything stupid and it looks like that he knows how to handle that beast). In general I don't approve that kind of driving on public roads, but that video was just so good that it outweighs the stupidity of street racing.

Here's my issue with driving like this on roads like this...you may be fully capable and your car may be fully capable...but you have absolutely no idea what is on the road. If you hit a patch of sand or gravel or oil your ass is fucked. You are going over the railing along with your 300k(somewhere around there) dollar car, or plowing into someone. I'm all for having fun but this is plain reckless.
No it`s not. Put speeding in the context of law and you will find that it is a so called administrative offense and thus a minor breach of law. Legal punishment includes payment of a penalty/fine and, if you were fast enough, temporary revokation of your driving license. A crime on the other hand is a criminal offense, or indictable offense and thus treated differently. Punishment for a crime can include a prison sentence. Please refrain from spouting nonesense if you don`t know anything at all
@calegrnt what's wrong with you? Are you just jealous because you are one of those people who are driving the shit cars getting overtaken by people like this. Do you really think this guy wants to crash his extremely expensive, limited production car? No. So he would not be doing this unless he was very confident in his own driving, his knowledge of the roads and his sensibility in not doing anything around tight corners- only straights, where he can see that an overtake is safe. live a little!

Superb car man,but for your and others' health calm down when driving on the Corniche...
Unpredictable events can come out suddenly and nope you can skip a crash on such roads.
Not preaching at all,I also used to have fun on those same roads yet at late night...anyhow I gave up : not a smart behaviour whatever the time.Tracks are safer,as you perfectly know.
Gustav. If you are still in Sud de France I recommend the road (D2205) from Nice to Isola 2000 ski resort.
I drove it in an Exige S and what I can say it was THE best driving experience I ever had. Awesome road, awesome car.
BTW the GTR RS is just savage. Keep it up.

@m5boarddotcom Really? Wow, so 997.2 is a very fast car. Some say it produces the same force of Veyron in acceleration at low speed. And Koenigsegg is Koenigsegg. But I prefer a G-Power M3, ;)

that was amazing, but on a road like this, GT3 RS would be even faster i think. GT2 RS is powerful but with a trubo and requires little bit open road to really unleash the beat in it, GT3 RS is naturally aspirated, so a slight room and phew, it will fly, on a longer stretch it will loose to GT2 RS.
Yeah I agree with that he's crazy. But I do not wish his death. I only hope he won't kill someone by driving this fast....Obviously he knows those road pretty well.

Gustav,How would you compare the feel of acceleration in the gt2rs compared to let's say the turbo s that you tried on the koenigsegg track? or the 458 for example?
