The 4x multiplier on crits is because the spots you're hitting on the Eidolon are treated like an enemy weakspot hit similar to a headshot, and thus have the same synergistic relationship with crit damage: Doubling it. This results in the final 4x multiplier. This is why crit weapons benefit more from headshots/weakspots than non-crit weapons, even against enemies without literal "heads".
I've been going crazy looking for post-Fortuna Eidolon hunt guides then suddenly youtube recommends this masterpiece to me outta nowhere, great video dude, I love it when guides really go in deep and look into the math of everything while also considering practicality and convenience.
Nice guide, very informative! Not just telling "use this because it is good" but explains why it is good, and also how to use the different amps. The math behind is a nice bonus!
What I love more than a simple "X is better than Y" response to a comparison question is when the reasoning is backed up with math, even if it is an approximation. Very helpful, and very informative. Thanks!
its minmaxing and comes with time if u just go for dailies, even on and off. Toroids seems to be the issue mostly to get little f...duck tiers up tho.. since 323 / 223 gives u what, 8% less crit chance compared to certus, i dont care...but like i said, its min maxing.
@@The_OPN How come? ivara prowl first steals 1 core each vomvalyst and then while in prowl mode shoot with either the ivara bow or whatever gun them to the 2nd form and hop to operator and even mote amp is fast to kill vomvs. For ultimate sentient core hunt use ivara and K-board and just roam the plains and find the pacts of 2 vomvs, steal & kill, and every "lure" thing has 2 vomvs around them almost all the time, u dont even need to hop to operator form, the lure kills vomvs and u get cores. ez. AND to be fair, you shouldnt focus neither orb vallis or PoE if youre "noob" what i dont know what is considered one, but everybody can do the sentient cores, its not even RNG based, they will drop 2 every time u kill + 2 if u steal. Toroids how ever are TOTALLY RNG and fucking annoying to get.
Now you want to know how many cores u get in 1 night being mote amp "noob"? i can tell you since i was returning player a month ago and didnt have any standing in cetus and had to do quest to get mote amp. I didnt use Ivara at first and got around 60-80 cores per night but i was stupid and only followed teralyst and killed the ones he spawned... i know, stupid and slow... i changed to k-board instead of archwing and started ivara strategy. Only from boarding around the plains with ivara i could get 140-180 cores a night. Hopefully some Tenno found this information valuable since it was hell to figure out how to get cores when u cant do shit and u cant really join any tridolon/eidolon hunts. Core amount varies and is totally up to you how fast u kill them and learn the spawns. GL.
@@Redai89 That's actually really helpful, thanks! Although I'd still say getting 3-5 toroids without boosters or desecrate per hour is better, just because each toroid gives 1000 standing. Vomvalysts die easy but I need to kill 200 to get the standing I'd get with one toroid.
At long last, somebody gives us actual numbers for the VS stacks AND shield health instead of ballpark estimates!!!! You, sir, are a beautiful human being
Just found your channel, I had never even heard of you before. These are some insanely high-quality, informative videos. I'm learning an insane amount going from one video to the next, thank you so much! Keep it up!
Wow! OK! I know that It is an old video from 2 years but the info so useful and for real as knowing now that x77 should be build for the critical chance and that is a nice thing to know. The resources that needed to build these amps are well tough especially the cetus wisp. Thanks so much for the tips and enjoyed it and even followed for further info in the future :).
man thank you so much. these videos are always so dope!!Honestly can’t tell you how much I appreciate them I always share them with my MR 26 friend to have him explain them to me again , you have helped me so much thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video - my friends and I have been wanting to get good at Tridolon hunts, and this is super helpful. Going with x-2-7's until everyone maxed on at least Void Strike and Virtuos Shadow. Then Unairu wisp and we'll see.
finally a video that answers all my questions. I have like 230+ hydro caps but seriously didn't knew the underlying mechanics of the different scaffolds. This video should be named Bible of Eidolon Hunting.
I love watching people shred eidolons, cause I just made a 1-1-1 amp and it takes about 13 minutes to take one down so this is totally my next huge milestone in game
Firstly the video is really really good. And the information and research presented here is pure gold . Love your effort keep it up. And idk if it was mentioned before but the shield damage values follow this formula Amp Damage vs Eidolons = Theoretical Damage x 0.04 + 108 / Fire RateAmp Crit-Damage vs Eidolons = Theoretical Damage x 2 x Crit Multiplier x 0.04 + 108 / Fire Rate Where Theoretical Damage is the amp's listed damage multiplied by any damage buffs, such as Void Strike and Unairu Wisp. Sourced from the warframe wiki. That explains the random value shield dmges because the fire rate is also taken into account
Also I really prefer the C and F format for the amps. So XCF-X23 refers to the schraksun scaffold and the certus brace. I just don't want to have to call a future amp something like 101010 when they add more amp parts with a third open world, so labeling the amp by location then tier identifies the amp easily, without the numbers becoming potentially dumb
You missed a couple points tho. Propa's projectile teleports to the eidolon hitbox for some reason, you can hit all synovia (even armpits) from a decent distance. Also you don't need to spend 2 void strike stacks for propa to kill limb, if you shoot the synovia and the dmg of the shot was enough to strip the shield then it will damage the synovia too (so 1 shot of propa hits both the shield and the limb at the same time). Other than that nice vid
nuibeam he did mention it in the video , you just weren’t paying attention, he also stated why it’s “impractical” and why he chooses to stay away from it. Listen before criticizing
I did briefly mention that you can "overkill" the shield and damage the limb in the process, but didn't go into what it meant or talk about it in detail. It's definitely possible to do so👍 The reason the shots seem to teleport to the limbs is because their hitbox is much larger than it appears, so the amp is impacting it from far away then the damage numbers pop up closer to the name plate giving it the illusion of teleporting. Just a weird Warframe thing 😀
Perfect explanation! I still use my 223 because I don't feel like to grind again another open world map just to get the 227, maybe sometime in the future.
Absolutely amazing and clear explanation of differences between amp Im lazy bum+playing on ps4 so just landed my hands on fortuna amps, still trying to figure out which to use, but also liked mix setup of amps in party, did 5x3 more times with variety of dmgs and procs of crits of new amps, but dont like the full party of x77 for sure, they just sucks, oldscool x23 must have to save the day Tyvm for guide, gonna share it for sure if some1 will need an info about new amps, very good job

(Could be countered by limiting reduction to max 90% of total). But overall it's just a guess. Will need to take a look at wiki for precise formula. Was just giving an example how it could potentially be possible that crit changes damage so dramatically.
This is the most detailed and coherent eidelon amp guide I've seen. I learned something too. I prefer the x27 as I'm a more casual player that pubs eidelon hunts. I think it can be done faster and really min-maxed with the x77, but those benefits can't be realized without a coordinated team. I still suck at dashing for the head and use the other arcane that increases crit damage. Seems to pair well with the x27 for lazy man 3x3 hunts in pubs. All you need is someone competent enough to manage the lures and there's plenty of time for a 3x3.
If you go 777 the prism is a super easy way to do this, just fire off the prism real quick in the general direction of the eidolons head before you start stripping shields & you will have virtuos shadow active for the duration.
@@KnifeShuriken the 7 prism was actually fixed (with waybounds you can fire it continuously for about 20 seconds now) its by far the best & highest dps prism... personally i'm only using it for virtuos shadow & for stripping that occasional last bit of shield that the propa didn't quite get, but I've seen lots of people actually use this for stripping shields (it will dump all your vs stacks though) now, which makes it the only prism thats viable for that.
There is some weird behavior with the propa scaffold where when you place the grenade just right it will multihit seemingly all of the eidolons hitboxes due to its large blast radius, dealing massive damage even with low VS stacks. Meanwhile getting direct hits with the grenade seems to decrease its multihit potential.
If you do not hit with 7th scafold and let it explode it will hit even more but if you directly hit with projectile to eidolon it will be hit with reduce damage and projectiles are teleporting on propa scafold to eidlon which is wierd but probably because of their hit box system. But don't forget to explode to propa shots don't shoot them directly
@@unspeakable3064 I think it works like penta , or lenz . There is a projectile impact damage and explosion damage but unlike those weapons you can only have one of them in the propa I suppose
i like when someone else do the math for me hehe. I will still be using my x77 cuz i im way too lazy to do another amp and level it up but i can really apreaciate the time invested in this one cuz the more you know. besides, timewise you can nowdays do 5x3 with barely anything (i think) and do constantly 6x3 is a pain in the ass. thanks!
The issue of the Propa projectile touching the eidolon's hitbox before passing completely through Volt's shield has plagued me to no end and wasted many Void Strike stacks. If I'm not Volt, and I have to deal with arbitrary shield placement, I always aim down or away from the eidolon and just clip Volt's shield with the Propa projectile to make sure I don't touch that boy's hitbox prematurely. If you shoot early enough and your timing is good, you don't have to waste time just because you're not getting an on-contact detonation.
Oh gosh I was using 323 some years back (just came back after 2 years) and I've only used the 3 bursts primary to damage eidolons and the explosion for vombalysts. Might need to try the explosion then, and probably change it eventually.
Prism does matter if you aren't running Void Strike. For example I run Unairu during hunts and I take a 6-7-7 with Virtuos Strike. I can effectively proc Virtuos Strike with the Lega Prism and so long as I don't drop below 120 energy on my Amp, I can fire 3 explosives from the Propa Scaffold. I pick the Lega Prism over the Klamora Prism because it's far more efficient on the energy. Edit: The Lega Prism is also effective at procing Virtuos Fury.
This video can not be explained better. Any down votes must be from those dope crap WF partners that wished they came close to the info put in this video. I may not WTF I’m talking about, but this guy does.
4:55 this is actually irrelevant because each crit only increases the damage dealt by a percentage, it doesn't matter how many crits you get but the percentage of hits that do crit.
Now... will there be an update for this after Focus 3.0? From what I heard, the prism now matters because the 1 and 5 prisms can trigger Virtuos Shadow easily. Madurai's switch to Operator now also gives the Operator +100% CD, Void Strike is now a 400-1000% damage boost for 8 seconds with a 40s cooldown, and I think there will be a comparison between Virtuos Shadow and Eternal Eradicate.
and here i am looking forward to having any amp that isnt mote amp (not really interested in eidolons but i guess i should start trying to get some arcanes...)
First of all, thanks for the amazing content bro, I recently discovered your channel and I'm super happy I did because it has certainly improved my hints and how I use some warframes, i was looking for a recent video for amps to see what's best because I've been running the 2-2-3 since last year and while Is good i needed to see how the new fortuna parts help and mix together, over all thanks for the great video, keep it up
@@atrumluminarium fun fact I learnt today in school apparently the reason I haven't had maths in one week is because my math teacher went crazy and is on a leave from school
I often go solo as unairu and the 4("flamethrower") and 7("kamehameha") lens are particulary decent if you headshot dash first and pick your own wisp. The 7 actually destroys terralyst shield in one energy bar.
i still use 222 because I already farmed enough shit on the plains tbh. Last thing I farmed was the ceno armor. Worth it, but I'm not doing it again ty.
0:09 "I just want to make it very VERY clear... your prism does not matter at all" Boy, this didn't age well XD... It's literally impossible to find a Madurai user that runs anything over a 3x3 that doesn't use a 177 nowadays, and even a lot of the 3x3 guys use them.
My team has been trying to get to 6x3 with x77s. It is faster on first terry limb but slower for waterlimb. We're currently testing ways to speed up waterlimb but the best strat is park your frame in front of the shield and shoot it so it blows up instantly. I don't think sap has ran enough to experience what my group calls "404 damage not found" where your shots are too low in damage. You cycle archwing to unbug it.
You have to get old mate with Eudico, on Fortuna, then hunt the profit taker. Little Duck in the back room is the Quill's representative, so after you collect the core equivalent and turn them into her, you gain standing.
ok...what did i just watch. I think i just watched how much farming that needs to be done in this game that i don't have time to do. don't get me wrong. Sap the work you and other Warframe tut creators are doing is just amazing, as well as everyone else who have gotten this far in this game. There is so much content for a player like me, it's almost overwhelming. It takes me weeks to level up. weeks to farm relics for prime parts. I just don't see it happening for me. Seems like so many people are just laying down the law when it comes to the big fights in this game. Good job to all of you, being able to throw it down like you're doing. Love these vids Sapmatic.
Don't be in a rush to get to this point. I took a whole year off just making plat and leveling weapons while collecting prime items. I didn't bother with the eidolons until all my basic things were done i.e starchart and syndicates. Once you become a hunter you will get the benefit of easy focus tree leveling and arcanes!

Im still out here using the 133 and didnt even know about the unairu wisp thingy but this was a very good video thanks
Awesome video mate. Thanks.
nice, thanks for explaining everything so thorougly! So much math **.**
Ty so much, awesome job!
Can confirm that. The propa does more dmg if you do not directly hit the eisolon for whatever reason
@@unspeakable3064 I think it works like penta , or lenz . There is a projectile impact damage and explosion damage but unlike those weapons you can only have one of them in the propa I suppose
I'm still doing the 213 build that most people started out with
Wow, that was a lot of hard work for you. *watched it, Wondered why, Went about my day*
Great explanation thank you 👍
Very detailed, thank you.
i like when someone else do the math for me hehe.
If you shoot early enough and your timing is good, you don't have to waste time just because you're not getting an on-contact detonation.
thank you for your analysis
PRISM dramatically matters. Raplak is the one you need to go with as it's the meta for Eidolon hunts.
should i go for 1-7-7? i wont be doing solo tridolon speedruns i just want to hunt eidolons more reliably than with 1-1-1
This video is 2 years old

Really fantastic video
this is actually in depth guide to eidolon amp
Is that the flamethrower?
Great video, thank you.
omg your mic is so much better than he last time i watched u
god this video is super helpful to this day
Good detailed video. Glad I went with my 327. I prefer the consistency
You can hold altfire on propa scaffold to make Granade travel further
Now... will there be an update for this after Focus 3.0? From what I heard, the prism now matters because the 1 and 5 prisms can trigger Virtuos Shadow easily.
Madurai's switch to Operator now also gives the Operator +100% CD, Void Strike is now a 400-1000% damage boost for 8 seconds with a 40s cooldown, and I think there will be a comparison between Virtuos Shadow and Eternal Eradicate.
Nice video - Thanks :D
and here i am looking forward to having any amp that isnt mote amp (not really interested in eidolons but i guess i should start trying to get some arcanes...)
14:07 that was the last sighting of a Trinity
First of all, thanks for the amazing content bro, I recently discovered your channel and I'm super happy I did because it has certainly improved my hints and how I use some warframes, i was looking for a recent video for amps to see what's best because I've been running the 2-2-3 since last year and while Is good i needed to see how the new fortuna parts help and mix together, over all thanks for the great video, keep it up
This maths guide just broke my brain
Quick maths
nice vid
So which AMP is now the best to remove Eidolon shields?
Head hurt. To much math.... ace video!!!
Too much math? Check out DelSquared's video on relic drop rates lol

So which is better.... IV seen someone melt the shields with flame thrower amp I was like wtf
Plus unairu wisp + madurai void strike + volt shield almost any amp can but x27 is more consistant if any of this factors fail.
I often go solo as unairu and the 4("flamethrower") and 7("kamehameha") lens are particulary decent if you headshot dash first and pick your own wisp. The 7 actually destroys terralyst shield in one energy bar.
I use a 233. I like the laser. I know it won't do much against shields, but I'm generally on cc duty cause I'm a trinity.
i still use 222 because I already farmed enough shit on the plains tbh.
Does Sarpa with Shattering Impact still work on eidolons? Corrosive Projection? Or did these got „fixed“?
Does still work. Using it all the time.
Me at school failing math compared to me at home playing warframe
My team has been trying to get to 6x3 with x77s. It is faster on first terry limb but slower for waterlimb. We're currently testing ways to speed up waterlimb but the best strat is park your frame in front of the shield and shoot it so it blows up instantly.
I don't think sap has ran enough to experience what my group calls "404 damage not found" where your shots are too low in damage. You cycle archwing to unbug it.
Thats a cool strat with the frame. What do you mean with the damage bug? I'm not aware of it
This is nice and all, but as a newbie I'm just going to build a 223 amp. Don't quite understand what to do to get my SU Quill standing up.
You have to get old mate with Eudico, on Fortuna, then hunt the profit taker. Little Duck in the back room is the Quill's representative, so after you collect the core equivalent and turn them into her, you gain standing.
Love how the game can be made into science for the sake of loot :b
ok...what did i just watch.
Once you become a hunter you will get the benefit of easy focus tree leveling and arcanes!
final fucking lee a video about AMPS that actually helps me and informs me on what i need to know..
My favourite prisma for now is 3 from onko ( amp parts from LD was not tested by me )
so how do you not get knocked down by your own propa shot? always a problem for me...
