    This is by far the best HR day in the life video I have seen. You actually showed the tasks that come with the job. Not a lot of the videos do that. They just kind of skim over it. So thanks for providing the insight! :)

    Thanks for sharing this video! I’ve been interested in getting into HR ( at least as an assistant) I still have ways to go 😅 but it’s nice to see some of the hiccups that could occur. I’m sure you’ve handled them all well, and I’m in customer service currently learning sometimes you have to be straightforward for certain situations. I came across this video trying to look up HRIS visuals/tutorials. (Excessive? Perhaps 🤓 ) New subbie either way !

    • @alexandria9870
      @alexandria9870  2 года назад

      Definitely not excessive. I want to propose and HRIS system to my current company now. But that's a whole lot of implement processing that certainly needs some time. I started off as an Assistant and LOVED it! That's where I really got into HR and wanting to dive into this dynamic industry. I have a lot of customer service experience as I also worked front desk for a hotel and front desk for a pet hospital (definitely taught me to say it like it is and never be afraid to say no). Thank you so much for subbing it means a lot!!

    Thank you for this 🥹 I’m majoring in HR and always wonder what the day to day will look like. Love this video ❣️I love how you add that you work a full time job & have 2 classes because I’m the same way. And I feel like a lot of the time I get backlash for it like I’m not taking ENOUGH classes. But being a full time employee and a part time student is A LOT, I try to take 3 classes but lately all the classes my university has been able to offer for HR don’t fit well enough into my schedule, leaving me with 2 classes to choose from per semester.

    Very interesting… seems like manufacturing industry, but I’m surprised it’s construction. Which system do you use for your ATS?
    I’m like that with the training binders too. I might need to get the stone too. I hate when terms stack up, but lately it’s been a bigger problem than usual. The no make up on that type of environment is a smart move!!!!! I know how you feel.

    • @alexandria9870

      Hello! Thank you for watching. I have been working construction for the last 11 months, I jumped from one company to another thanks to compensation. My current company now is on some great projects and the ever changing days keep me excited and on my toes for sure. I have had A LOT of firsts, but the learning curve is exactly what I wanted for myself. I LOOOVVEEEEE training binders. Whether I make them from scratch or update and add to some that have already been created. The terms were thrown right at me, these were employees who hadn't been here since before I even joined the company, and no one took care of them. It was a bit frustrating being rushed but I got it done!
      For sure, I know that as women we have our level of attraction but certainly working around men I want to keep things as plain as possible. I do get complimented still and just let them know it's kind but unnecessary. The ATS we use is Jobvite!

    • @HeyyyHR
      @HeyyyHR 2 года назад +1

      @@alexandria9870 Same here with the terms!! People do not realize what comes with new hires and terms/resignations.
      I do a BARE face for work...lol Wish I could do nothing because it's a hassle, but in construction it works out soooo well!
      JobVite is only an ATS. Darnit. I was hoping you were using a system that had ATS and timesheets/payroll included ...like Paylocity or Paycom. That should take those daily timesheet handling out of the way.
      I'd love to have you on one of my lives to talk about whatever topic you're comfortable with in HR. Are you interested? If not, I completely understand.

      And Yes !!! The last HR job I had we were implementing ACORO/BirdDog as the HRIS system and it was seemingly going smoothly considering the fact that we also use a payroll system called SAGE.

      I was turning those in end of day or the next day! I had a reminder in my outlook everyday for it! It was extremely frustrating not getting them from the superintendents especially bc they always say they don't know. By Friday's we would take time to call the Superintendents or go to the site to get those terminations! At the company I work for now (still construction) my HRBP is on top of our Supers and Office Managers for that information. It's a constant chase down! • @alexandria9870

I am in Texas myself but I would start with remote roles in both areas to not limit yourself to possibly secure something while you are finishing up. Once you secure a position even as a coordinator, complete your bachelors. To take the stress off of yourself take as many online courses you can to limit a crazy schedule. Is the money worth it?

      At the time it was as I was hourly and getting A LOT of over time. But looking back I was always exhausted taking on a heavy load. If I had another HR person on site with me I know it wouldn't have been as hectic. To this day I do believe the work I am doing now is also worth my compensation and perks I get with the company.

      Hello! I started with Entry level positions and I also have a degree in Agriculture😂 so really I worked my way up since my degree was not related to HR.

      @@alexandria9870 what is an entry level position? Is it related to hr? I only have accounting experience, and is trying to apply for an hr generalist role within my same company I'm an accountant for... do u think I will be qualified by the hr team??

      Hi! Sorry to respond so late, entry level would be Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Coordinator, People Operations Coordinator , Human Resources Administrative Assistant. These types of roles!

      Also to add yes I certainly think you having an accountant background Can get you into HR even for the Analytical side if you find interest in that. I see oftentimes that Accounting, HR, Payroll and Risk Management people tend to jump from one to the other. But do keep in mind that each is different as collectively they are not routed as one
