Thanks for sharing this! The driver side window on my 2005 civic was getting stuck at the bottom and the issue was the loose piece of foam. It was easy to fix after watching this video, but I will note that you don't need to remove the water shield to access the foam.
First thing to do check the fuse for the power window.. Located at the lower of steering wheel its a fuse box.. Sometimes the only problem is busted fuse.
Summary: the square piece of foam may come partially detached from the trim panel, and this can block the window near the bottom of its travel. See 2:43.
For my specific issue, no. All you would need to do is fix the foam. But, as I mentioned, there can be track issues as well. If that's the case, then yes, you'd need to get behind the water shield to fix that.
Quick question. My window goes down and up, however, I think the previous owner had a break in and the window now doesn't go up correctly. It leaves about a 1 inch gap between the door frame and the window. It has crushed the rubber framing and mold pretty bad, too. 2000 Honda Civic LX. I haven't taken the panel off yet to look, but would this be a guide rail problem? I know I am going to need new molding.
its hard to say without actually being there looking at it, but that's probably where itd start too. once you get the panel off and test the window going up and down, it'll probably be a lot easier to see what the issue is. good luck!
There's a fuse for each window to under the steering wheel. 4 yellow 10 amp fuses with a relay above it and there's another relay fuse under hood. Learned from watching another video about 01-05 Honda Civic
My rear passenger window gets nothing. It actually stopped working for a couple of years like 6-7 years ago, then miraculously worked again after 2 years. I opened it by accident a couple of months ago, and it didn't go back up after, or down any further. I put some alcohol down there near the switch and got the motor to make noise for like a split second once, but that was it.
Try this,, if you open it back up again, bang on the motor with the back of a screw driver or something like that, then see if the motor temporarily works again. If it does, then the motor is dying and needs to be changed. It could also be the button that's not working too. Either your entire driver side one, or the button connected to that window. I actually show the little trick in a window regulator video I made a while ago at 1:30 ruclips.net/video/knffV3zCvWU/видео.html
Sounds like the window might have fallen off the rail. You could use the tutorial to open up the door and see what's going on. After that though, you'd have to figure it out.
About to pull my door apart, but I wanted to try again from the driver side. Went over tried clicking it up and down, then noticed I had the child safety button pressed…… 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ WENT THROUGH A WHOLE WEEK WITH A HALF OPENED WINDOW. FML.
Because they are trying to rip you off :(. This isn't the only reason the window could get stuck, so there might be parts involved too, but that's really pricey even if the motor is broken. Might want to take it somewhere else for a second opinion.
I call myself a shade tree mechanic but I would not know how to do so many things without the help of people and videos like this one. THANK YOU
Yay! Glad it was helpful and fixed your problem!

Thanks for the video - used it to replace my actual civic pass window , couldn't find one that outlined it like yours did! Cheers!
Awesome! Glad it helped!
Awesome. Thanks for the tutorial. I had the exact same problem, and this saved me. Thank you!

thanks for the detailed instructions and vid. Was clear enough for a novice like me to fix a jam.
Excellent! Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! I had to change my window regulator, so this video helped.
Glad it helped
There are 4 yellow 10 amp fuses too, 1 for each window just fyi under steering wheel and a relay. 1 more relay under hood.
20 amp for me
My front pass won’t roll up, I plan on trying this tomorrow thanks for saving me $60
good luck! also look at the track as mentioned in the video. that could be another problem area as well
Did you ever fix? Mine won’t go up today that’s why I searched this video bit misleading

Thanks for great video with spot on fault diagnosis . Fixed mine today , so easy after watching . Brilliant .
Can you show me how to fix one on a 2013 civic front passenger side
so does the water shield need to be taken off?

3:09: Re the window off track.
"Basically you'll want to grease it up--and that should fix it".
What?
Grease it up with What? Where?
Etc.?
Thanks.
grease the track the window slides on. youd want to use a thick grease, like silicone grease so itll last
@@nukem384 Thank You Very Much!!!
Cheers!

cool! my front pass door window is getting stuck at the bottom. so im guessing i'm having the same problem with that piece of foam. thanks!
What's the purpose of that foam for? I just ended up removing mine completely.
Probably sound dampening, if I'm going to guess. But yeah, maybe I should've done that too.

Glad it helped
Same for same year accord?
I would think not. It's a totally different car.
What should I do if the window fell inside of the door?
Sounds like the window might have fallen off the rail. You could use the tutorial to open up the door and see what's going on. After that though, you'd have to figure it out.
Very helpful THANKS...
Elizabeth Sharp no problem! Good luck on the fix!
Thankfully had same issue.. cheers
Glad my video helped you fix that!
@@nukem384 Yep, much appreciated, I was dreading the fault finding,.... turns out your video spot on. :)
I don’t even have that phone piece in my car. What about getting to the actual window
What do you mean? This tutorial shows you how to get to the window? It's right there after you remove the door card?
About to pull my door apart, but I wanted to try again from the driver side. Went over tried clicking it up and down, then noticed I had the child safety button pressed…… 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ WENT THROUGH A WHOLE WEEK WITH A HALF OPENED WINDOW. FML.
Haha, whoops! At least it was an easy fix!
I went to the gym today and thought someone broke my window, everything was in place so I figured the window engine broke
Thx!
Why is my car shop trying to charge me $400 to do this?
Because they are trying to rip you off :(. This isn't the only reason the window could get stuck, so there might be parts involved too, but that's really pricey even if the motor is broken. Might want to take it somewhere else for a second opinion.
