      I daily drive my 88 GT and the head gasket went in August. I’ve installed GT40P heads which i rebuilt, Explorer upper and lower intake . I pulled it myself and did all the cleaning and rebuilt it myself. I shared photos with friends and family. I enjoyed sharing as much as doing it for myself. Keep up the good work!!!

    You have the knowledge to rebuild that engine ! Good diagnosis . As far as the roller rockers You should be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer without having to buy a complete set . Best Wishes and good building 🇺🇸🇵🇷🦊👍

      I definitely appreciate your words! Yeah the replacement engine is already running, I was able to find a single replacement rocker for $55 😬… but I bought it just to have a complete set. Im still sad about the heads and it looks like this block on the video is going to be junk as well. Thanks for watching and I truly appreciate your continued support!

    Luis I think that you are a very good mechanic.
    I think you are also humble with your approach to things.
    You have a very calm demeanor.
    This is unfortunate the head breaking off the valve.
    I hate for you the head is ruined.
    Maybe you could get another used one and match it up.
    Hopefully your block and crankshaft with be good.
    Do not let these key board hacks or warriors get you down.
    You have already succeeded where others have failed.
    Have a great week.
    Take care, Ed.

      I really appreciate that Ed, people like you make the RUclips a better place! You are full of positive things to say, and you have an amazing channel! I had a feeling that the block was done for, that’s why I didn’t bother trying to fix that one and got another block. I was hoping the heads and the roller rockers would be usable, but as luck would have it, they are damaged! That’s a great idea, I will try finding another head for sale or at the junkyard

      I got the car on a trade, I was simply finding out if I could get the car running that day, so when I saw the engine was toast I knew it had to come out. Didn’t think there was any sense in continuing to disassemble.

    People sell individual Cobra rocker arms on the big auction site. I wonder why the exhaust valve head came off. Seems the intake valve has less piston to valve clearance than the exhaust does. Looks like those GT40 heads have aftermarket valve springs.

    • @MrBlitzkrieg1987
      @MrBlitzkrieg1987  7 месяцев назад

      Hello, yes just like you pointed out, I was able to purchase a replacement rocker on ebay for about $50, I have a complete set now. When I took the engine apart a few videos back the roller lifter on that cylinder had self destructed and the springs on that valve was broken. Im sure the piston hit the valve and thats why it broke. Not exactly sure why it failed to close in time, but the owner of the car said he ran it extremely low on oil.

  • @jdrods1519
    @jdrods1519 8 месяцев назад +2

    • @MrBlitzkrieg1987
      @MrBlitzkrieg1987  8 месяцев назад +1

      Brother Im not even sure, I know that it ran low on oil, but the exploded lifter, the broken spring, and the broken valve makes me think something else had to happen too 😬

  • @SleazysGarage

    • @MrBlitzkrieg1987
      @MrBlitzkrieg1987  8 месяцев назад

      You’re right, but I think you got the wrong impression of what I meant. Im not saying mechanics need to do anything differently. What I was really trying to get across is that just because I didn’t do the things that a mechanic would normally do (because Im not) doesn’t mean that I was wrong about what actually happened to this engine… Ive been around ford engines for a long time 😳, so I can tell when an engine is destroyed very quickly. Im actually sure you would have came to the same conclusion if you found what I did in that video.
