    In last problem, combustion of Benzene is given as 3267 kj of energy is released.So,we have to assume it as -3267 indirectly.See, carefully 🙂

    That means we should take as -3267.0

    And heat of combustion is for 1 mole reactant ..

    Mam in the topic enthalpy of formation and enthalpy of combustion problem in question no 2 can't we use the formula product-reactant if we use the formula the answer will be 1 ?

    Bt when we have to find enthalpy of formation, we take enthalpy of product -enthalpy of reaction;but u have taken oppositevely.how?mam, plzzz reply.

      in case of bond enthalpy and enthalpy of combustion we need to take reactants - products......but in almost all other cases (eg. entropy ,enthalpy of formation,etc..)its products-reactants itself.

    But mam for the last qus they are asking enthalpy of formation so we have to take product - reactant then the equation - X1-(6X2 + 3X3)
    ....correct me if I'm wrong 🙇

      That is when enthalpy of (formation of products) and (reactants) are given and you are to find the enthalpy of formation for the (reaction) but in the problem you are given with enthalpy of combustion of each reactant and product so you need to take reactant-products

    In last ncert ques if we solve we could not get that ans... Plzz replyy mee mam.. I think x1 value should be -3267 instead of 3267 so that ans. 48.51 can come..

      Bro in the question itself it is given HEAT IS LIBERATED. So we have to take -3267 KJ not + 3267 KJ. Hope you get it 🙂

    Mam your way of teaching is superb ...but I just want to recommend one thing that is to clarify the doubt of students in comment section..I know it's may difficult with respect to time ...but still whenever u make another video .u should clarify previous videos students doubt...If this will is not possible..then try to make doubt session separately on the basis of comment section.

    I think In the last qus value of X 1 should be -3267 kj, because only then it will become +3267 and 3267-3218.49=48.51

    The standard enthalpy changes of formation of carbon dioxide and water are -394 kj/mol and -286 kj/mole respectively if the standard enthalpy change of combustion of propyne is -1938kj/mol . what is its standard enthalpy of change of formation?
    if some one knows how to solve it then kindly tell me ....i tried to solve this ques by making equations but one thing that is confusing me is that for carbon dioxide and water heat of formation is given and for propyne heat of combustion is given .....and in the end ques is about to find standard enthalpy of change in formation ?
