I haven't labbed it yet @Adam Owens but I'm pretty sure that this helps with stuff like k rool crown or neutral b usage or Dedede Gordo. Maybe some niche flame choke ganon sauce or bowser fire setups but I do know the tech is still new. Heavy mains unite, bro

It gets you the direction change if that’s what you want but if your back is to them, you have faster options already no? Though it is nice to slingshot out of range of dash attacks and grabs and be able to punish with landing fair->imagination
@@amare7430 yeah, I'm sure other fg have way more "intended" and officially documented tech and mechanics, here in smash land even the most basic movement is undocumented exploits waiting to be discovered . Sakurai did try to slip in a few ones such as L cancelling and wavedashing , but he did not officially document them (unless we consider sakurai's forum posts from 2002 to be official documentation)

Zelda mains can now slighshot the phantom displacement instead of attack cancelling (if they weren't flicking to slingshot already) Zelda down throw to lightning kick on DI away is now easier to do Inkling fthrow to bair is a true combo starting at 0% and requiring DI in at higher percents (although you are better off doing upthrow to upair anyway at low percent) Inkling can do dthrow to reverse nair to bair at low to mid percents ZSS can do falling fair to bair to bair, or bair to flip kick at 30-40%

No you missed the point. What they agreed is that nair on shield is not safe and slingshot wouldn’t help with that. The fact that you can nair before landing after a slingshot tjlot is exactly why ESAM thought it was good for doing tjolts this way.
How does doing flick shot with diagonal differ from doing it with straight back? I do irar with straight back and I can’t see the difference unless it is just more consistent to make sure you don’t accidentally get dash back
cause of you use the 45 degree angle when you buffer the dash you can start holding it before the dash even comes out. For an easier bufferable idj of sorts. In short, it’s for buffering purposes.
Can you, or anyone else in the comments, research Bayo or Mii Gunner Slingshot. Bayo's fair boosts her upwords, and Mii Gunner's launches them back. These are underrepresented characters with a lot of tech potential. So labbing from the source of the tech could help ''raise awareness" for these characters --Thank You

Very interested of how this tech will affect the Tier list. But in general and what I've seen so far, I think the rich get richer while bottom tiers (and heavies) will continue to suffer. Gonna need to see a dedicated comparison across all characters to really make any judgement.
ESAM: even if it punishes grab, nobody grabs downtilt out of shield anyways so it's not useful to me GimR: no ESAM look downtilt ss fair does punish grab see? Facepalm.
I'll be frank, the technique most likely won't be "meta changing", it will just give an extra option to most players. Personally for my char it's crap and unneeded, its just makes me mess stuff that I wouldn't had otherwise and barely notice any difference if any.
