rpm773 I have the same car in Florida, I used to own a 1980 300d back in the 80s, then a 1983 300SD in the 90s, later on a 1983 240d for my son for about 5 years, 3 x 300d 1983 for my casual drivers, today a 1985 300d for my vacations, all of them were bought with low miles or new, the last one Bruno is a manganese brown, with 0riginal 123k miles, very nice engine, interior wood, paint, no rust, no steering play.. but all the lower suspension booth need attention, vacuum doors got bypass, calipers needed service, air filter was in bad shape, the air conditioning will not blow on the center, the Klima relay will not operate as it should, tach inoperative, electric fan will not engage.. I will be doing all the work🤯

I'm not a Mercedes guy. But i am a car guy! Ever since i started watching Mr Kent videos i cannot stop, they are so informative, so professional! Very good suff really.
As a professional mechanic for only for 13 year, i have a lot to learn, even from old cars and technology. ( Witch i love by the way!)

My Dad has bought and sold and worked on these old MB diesels for over 30 years. You can’t count them out. I miss driving them. Yes, thanks for leaving the comments section open. I’ve really appreciated the series. Way to go on the resurrection of Digby. My first car was a 1985 w123 300D turbodiesel sedan. Although I’ve always been an S-Class turbodiesel man, I have much respect for the w123.

I have no old Mercedes diesel and I'm not planning on getting one soon but I'm still very interested in this channel overall and especially this series because of the big knowledge and experience you share within your videos and of course the passion you put into repairing these old mercedes. My father had two W124s, two W210s, a W638 and a W211 within my childhood and while he also had a lot VWs and two Audis, Mercedes is the brand that had left the biggest impression on me... Especially his W124 200D was a car I will never forget... Oh and I once had the opportunity to drive a W116 that also was a pretty remarkable experience...

I have a 1975 300D in a 1980 240D body with a manual trans. I've put 300K on the motor since the rebuild. This is the third body the motor has worn out. My son and I are today using kits from Ken to rebuild and test the injectors and install pencil-type glow plugs. Going to do an Italian Tuneup with Molly oil. Then I'm off on a tour of the PNW. So cool the comments were turned on today! I should mention I have been burning refined veggie oil/Dino blend, for over ten years.

Good on you! You bred a Son with a heart. Of course we all want to see Digby recover, he's already improving.
I vote for a good long road trip. I'll bet the owner has been running the poor old bugger half a mile to the shops instead of walking. He probably hasn't really cleared his throat in years, let alone had a good suck on the turbo. More medicine and a good loooong steady run for Digby.

There's a guy in the UK (furiousdriving) who has a petrol W123 and he's having problems getting it running and he's mentioned you in one of his video. You should let him pick your brains. The W123 is the best car Mercedes built.

Don't get (totally) rid of that engine, it seems to be producing a lot of power - even with that one cylinder screwing it all - and one day someone may want to rebuild it for his Diesel. Now it may be unthinkable to go on the trouble of rebuilding that engine but those engines will not be in a wide supply forever and they are kinda special...
