- I just got my Surron, and I had to swap out parts immediately because a few parts are just so bad.
Here is what to expect when you first receive your own Surron.

54t was a huge torque upgrade, I ride single track too with fox 40 and Fox float, 54t is perfect.

The fox 40 is a good start I would also change the rear shock to a Fox DHX Rc-4 and for street use 24 inch wheels with maxxis hookworms it will be insanely fun lol

I have a SurRon Black with DNM purchased less than a year ago and the suspension is terrible for real off roading. If I rode it more I would absolutely put a Fox 40 and also rear shock on it. Even my teen girls complain about how bad the suspension is when they ride it in rocks. Better tires make a petty big difference as well, they are just 19” motocross front tires so there is a lot of selection from motorcycle online shops. Thanks for the fork reviews!
Yeah very true! stock tires are doing okay, but I'm looking forward to getting better ones once I wear out the stock ones.

Load the float 40 air chamber with spacers, factory says 7 but I think 10 or 12 will fit... that + max air pressure should help stop any bottoming.
i don't know how many are in there right now, but i'm on 90psi (120max) and haven't bottomed out yet. If I have do bottom out, I should give that a try!

this is an AMAZING quality video! Please keep them coming! I broke my rst fork my second time out so good call on stopping your first haha. I also did magura mt5 brakes as the stock brakes were terrible. What headset did you end up using?
My wrist still hurts from that tiny jump on the RST fork lol. Errr I actually forgot what headset they installed at the shop. They put in whatever had the right size at the shop.
I think I won’t be able to be a small engine mechanic when I grow up at this rate

make sure you clean well after to avoid damage from metal shavings on your moving suspension components...
I gave it a real good clean after seeing all the shavings near the fork seal!
If you upgrade the battery to a 72v one you can make the bike 8 times more powerful. Its not a stock part but its worth it.
I'll have to save up $$$
Sorry for late inquiry -- Do you happen to know roughly how much for a 72v battery?

He was about to sell the GT so I traded my BOS fork with this Fox haha

look for a deal on used market. I don't think it's worth buying a brand new one.

Hi guys! Would you have the reference of the top headset you have? On the first picture you can see that it's not the original surron headset. I want to change it but I can't find the inner diameter of the top headset.
I don't know the exact model since the mechanic measured it put on whatever he had in the shop. Maybe I'll ask when I visit next time.

Great video! How long can you ride enduro trails on one charge? Have you though about upgrading to 72V system?
I haven't actually measured exactly but it will get me through a half day ride. I usually start my ride in the morning and charge up for 1.5 hr during lunch, and ride the afternoon. It's enough for me that way. I won't be upgrading to a 72V. It's too much money and I'm happy with the stock power.
It seems the surron feels awesome to ppl who are not used to dirt bikes/ expensive mountain bikes, but if you have rode those before, the suspension and brakes feel crap/ weak. I bought a entry level mountain bike and I was really disappointed in the suspension and brakes, coming from riding trial motor bikes before. my dads classic trial bikes from the 1960s has better suspension! I am still thinking about buying a surron, but now I see I have to spend $ on better suspension and brakes, they have to feel good. not many used parts near me so it gets alot more expensive.
Yeah you are very right. Stock form is pretty disappointing.

I want to get one and turn it into a stunt bike and do tricks on💪 for that I think all need to do is upgrade my rear shock and suspension and getting get supermoto tires and I should be good💪

I did not get if the second forks you put the fit in easily or you had to put adapters like with the first forks you replaced. How was the mounting? Also what brand/models are the second forks? Fox? Im going to get my surron within next 3 months and already looking for forks replacement and 21” front wheel
Fitment is the same for all forks. You just need to check the length of the steerer tube. I'm running fox 40

hmm i'm not sure about minute but I estimate about 40km in the mountains

Thanks! bigger front wheel will help out with improved roll over but it won't prevent bottoming out!
Great video what was the standard rear shock like? Any good?
I'm still using the stock rear shock. It's not the best performing, but I think it's good enough. I would swap out the spring though. I believe the stock spring is 450lb, I'm looking to get a 500 or 550. I weigh 82kg (180lbs)
Switching the stock break pads to Shimano pads would have been enough. The stock calipers aren't that bad. I know the stock fork isn't great, but did you adjust the preload at all before taking it offroad?
I adjusted the fork, I tried out the shimano pads. I couldn't live with it personally. Each has different standards but for me, it wasn't good enough.

포크 스티어 튜브 길이가 16.5cm 이상으로 사시는게 좋아요. 아무래도 바이크 무게가 있어서 코일 사용하는게 포크에 무리가 덜 가죠. 하지만 저는 코일을 못구해서 에어 사용중입니다.
Hacksaw the tab off. Then file it smooth and paint. Problem over.
@@livinagoodlife I don't own an angle grinder (most folks don't), but it's really cheap and easy for anyone to get a hacksaw if they don't already have one. But if you already own an angle grinder then sure it would be fast, but also likely to "tag" other things nearby and scar the metal. A hacksaw, followed by a file, is the perfect tools needed for this instance.
Do you need adapters for cura 4’s or it just fits with the bike frame?

you have to ride it like a pit bike, even for me who is shorter. 70mm riser bar would be mandatory for you.
im 5/8 ft and i raised bars 100mm - better but 170 mm would be best for me
The stock RST fork is terrible. I have it on my Talaria. Recently put a rockshox boxxer spring in the RST and it made it much better.

have you done the 72V battery upgrade? There's also a limiter cable that you have to cut. With both you should be doing over 70 mph or 110km/ph.
I won't be going down the 72v route. It is A LOT of money... The cable has been cut from day 1

For 4k there better not be all this stuff wrong--plan on getting one--they should have the highest quality parts on this for the amount of money they are asking.I am going to send this when I want one and pend the order until these are addressed.
They are getting updated with new suspension parts later this year, but i doubt they will be any good.

@@MVFIT My distributor told me that info. The 2021 models were supposed to come with these suspension:

However, the distributor recently announced that it got canceled due to multiple issues with the new suspension, which means 2021 model will continue with the RST fork.

I noticed the head/tail lights and the license plate mount. Could this bike be street legal if you get it properly licensed?
Not that I know of, unless you live in Europe and you buy the street legal version.

The trails i ride are pretty far from Paju, if you can read Korean 산뽕 오프로드 naver cafe is a good place to check out where people ride.

It's not very much money compared to mountain bikes, ebikes or dirt bikes. You're not going to get a $10000 dollar bike for less than $4000. Thats just life.. The battery alone is worth a couple grand, what did you expect? ;) they are rideable stock, these guys just have expensive taste, and probably the wallets to match. I've been into DH for a long time, these cost less than just an OK bicycle.. I'd say it's cheap tbh... Just throw a good set of brake pads on and some oil in the forks and you're good to go.

To me that’s the problem with the surron, if you’re gonna ride it in a way thats fun l, you’re gonna need to upgrade just about everything.
I really wish there were two versions. Base model and another with fox 40 + etc, but probably stupid expensive at that point
With the price point surron targeting, its a decent equipment. Otherwise you will see not so affordable price point of 8k to 9k ebike. Then no body able to afford it. Its dead on arrival. However by going this route, surron able to offer base level equipment, and let aftermarket take over. Sort of old school Japanese sport car concept if you will. Win win.
