- After being a TT fan, rider, coach and just all round advocate, the legendary Richard 'Milky' Quayle finally takes on The TT Podcast to tell Chris Pritchard and Steve Plater some of his many tales and all about his love of the event.
Beginning from his early days of watching the Southern 100 and TT from the hedges with his dad, the Manxman takes the hosts through the journey to his first time racing at the event, sharing stories of riding round the course nine times on Mad Sunday and learning from local heroes along the way. He talks about some of his early bikes and taking advice from local heroes.
Milky gets into his first days at the TT, telling Chris and Steve about why he was nervous to race despite having driven around the course hundreds of times before. He also describes the magic of waiting for the sun to rise during a morning practice and why it's better that more care is taken now over the decision to race.

I went to school with Milky at Castle Rushen, always been the same, never changed, lovely guy and always smiling. A great guy to represent the Isle of Man, not just for the TT but proud of his beautiful home. Decent cricketer too. 👍

Milky is Mr TT. 2018 came outta quids away jumped on the bus cos it was pissing down, an who's the driver Milky. What a top person he is. Loved that, roll on pt 2, an hopefully pt3 an 4 tooo.
I listened to this first and was amazed that I could feel the passion coming from Milky, so much so I had to come back, watch it and see it for myself.
You can still see the passion he has for the track,was a fan when he was racing and he really is what the TT is all about .we all love you Richard,had to come back and watch again,thanks guys love the podcasts
I hope to meet Milky when I get over to the Island. If 1% of his energy rubs off on me, I,ll live another 50 years.

Thank you for the awesome podcast, I always watch your race coverage as well! One of my best friends in the world, Jerry Younggren, (r.i.p. '10, see you at the ace cafe in the sky,brother)was ALWAYS on about Isle of Man TT, he was an O.G. rocker/teddy boy/psychobilly, he built a 98" cubic inch late model shovel head motor, balanced and blueprinted, mated to I believe he said, a commando gearbox, all mated up and aligned correctly,and shoehorned into a Norton manx 'featherbed' frame, I've had my share of triumphs,beezers and a couple commandos, loved em all, his norton/Harley race mutant woulda been a blast to ride tho...
Anyways my dream is to be there to watch the TT in person, but this country takes passports, effectively making me a prisoner in my own country,so until the day I'm free again, your podcast and coverage on RUclips will keep me dreaming!
Milky Quayle is an amazing individual! Geniune, you can tell this man eats,breathes,sleeps,shaves,shits,dreams,works,cooks,drinks, did I say breathes? TT I love his enthusiasm and dedication to everything TT, and that he's looking out for the youngsters that are just starting out.
As messed up as society is getting,seeing this made me smile, and More importantly so, you three gentlemen give me hope in humanity... Milky, you're a legend bro! Thank you for all you do for the TT! You are the man!
