wow, cadillac really have done a great job on that interior / luxury features. good job. just think a fully loaded CT6 is still less expressive than the S class's base price. the best part is it only weighs 3600 LBS.
Cadillac is currently under a massive expansion. As for crossover- SUV , there will be a new xt3, as well as a larger than xt5 which will be called xt7. Wife & I purchased the xt5 & love everything about it. All cars will change to Ct and crossovers or suvs will be xt. The only name that will not change is escalade . I drove the 3.0 tturbo ct6 , hard loaded. I've honestly never driven anything like it. It's buttoned down ride with magnetic filled shocks along with the light weight makes for an unbelievable ride. The Germans are no where close when it comes to the ride. It literally sticks to the road like a sports car. I've read some of ur comments., and totally disagree with some. This car is well built, beautiful, and one hell of a bargain if ur looking at s class , 5 - 7 series. U would be making a huge mistake not putting the CT6 on ur test drive list. Trust me drive one. It's not ur daddy's caddy.
What you know about european Standards. Are you being in Europe? I am living in Germany for the last 34 years and feel that Cadillac Is back in the game.
I'm always perplexed when I see one of these on the road. I feel like whoever bought it must've been looking for a Cadillac DeVille and didn't hear they haven't been made since 2007
Glad they went with traditional gear shift. The other Caddy has a really complicated one, bad enough that the VUE system is keeping older folks from buying one. I think with this car, Caddy is gonna bury Lincoln.
I absolutely understand what you saying about the price and warranty but the warranty is void if you pass gas in the driver's seat so that is just to get you in there crap cars. you saying the 460 is the best, I can definitely respect and fully understand your opinion with that But They will never get my money. I'll always be a American car owner but I do respect a well built car and the 460 is better than the highly overrated German cars of its class. me personally.. Cadillac all the way. It looks the best and is big but still a driver's car.
We have a lot of faith in Cadillac's resurgence and commitment to the luxury market. They have some more work to do. At their peak they had 2,000 dealers compared with 300 Lexus and 300 Mercedes-Benz dealers. That's a problem because some of them were selling one or two cars per month and refused to make investments to improve their facilities. That's changing and they're trying to get down to 500 rooftops. With today's luxury buyers the ownership experience (including how they are treated at the dealership) is as important as the car itself.
@ BaltimoreB Scott , What a fucking idiot simpleton! There is no such thing as an American car anymore. Are you talking about the CT8 which will be built in China, then shipped to the USA, or the Catera rip-off, which was a German Opel that Cadillac successfully destroyed, or the Allante whose body was designed and built by Ferrarri, then shipped to the USA, or the CTS and shared chassis cars whose transmissions were French (Sigma) for a time, or the current Camaro, which is 50% built in Canada, and and the numerous SUVs which GM has chosen to build in Mexico? Somehow, I dont think Mexico and Canada are the Americas you're thinking of. When you pull your head out of your ass, maybe you can come back and have a serious conversation.
how dare you bring up a Hyundai in this conversation. if your going to do that, I have absolutely no respect for your opinion. Hyundai are shity cars Cadillac are greatness. show some damn respect
Genesis is now Hyundai's luxury division and you need to be more open minded about the competition and which vehicles are being cross-shopped. Quite honestly, Cadillac is the one who's arriving late to the full-sized luxury sedan segment, which they once dominated. We're not saying one is necessarily better than the other, but the price point of the Genesis V6 compared to the competition makes it extremely attractive plus offers the best warranty in the segment. If you want our 100% honest opinion, the Lexus LS460 is still the best bet because it is likely to cost you far less in the long run. The CT6 is a beautiful sedan, but at a time when Crossovers/SUVs are hot, it's just not selling well and has not met expectations.
I agree 100% with you on the Lexus LS460. If you are going to purchase a luxury sedan, The craftsmanship, the build quality, the ride quality of the Lexus LS460 is much better than the new Caddy.
+bodeans59 The Lexus LS460 may have better overall build quality, however when it comes to technology, the Cadillac CT6 prevails. Furthermore, the LS460's switchgear & speedometer/multimedia display graphics are dated plus the lack of a touchscreen along with the LS 460's cumbersome mouse like controller for the navigation/multimedia system is a serious negative for many.
I used to be a die hard American car buyer, But the last 10 years have been more than awful for GM in regards to recall. My heart sank when I heard about the Chevy Cobalt problems that killed & injured people because of a item that cost 57 cents that GM ignored & denied. Plus all other makes like Cadillac & Buick & other GM products that were recalled for wipers...I mean really??? How long has GM been in the business.... I got a 2016 Lexus GS 350 F Sport now and I love it! If GM gave this car for free to me..I would sell it in an instant. I don't trust GM anymore, they are cutting corners too much.
Same mistake as Acura....no V8 on the flagship....RL lost its king status 10 years ago because of this....without a v8, noone in this segment will take you seriously, even if it is $20K less.... And the rear seat area doesn't help Caddy as well....
Benjamin Hatchett unfortunately, its a perception issue, not a 'need' issue! Carisma issue lets say ... RL died because it didn't have it... especially CAddy, should have it....
If I had a dollar for everyone that talks without knowing anything, I would be donating millions to charities... ( I MEANT RL btw, the 2010 model year was only RL) ) : www.edmunds.com/acura/rl/2010/features-specs/
The CT6 is a bit of a letdown! I like the lightweight and decent handling, but the styling is a tad too conservative. Plus the interior design is not as attractive as other midsize and full-size luxury designs! I just got a glimpse of Caddy's new Escala concept. While that car resembles a few other European luxury sedans in the looks department, it's very handsome and is what I hope the true Cadillac flagship will look like!
If I am interested in a Luxury vehicle in the full size class (G90, S Class, A8, 750, etc.), I don’t give a damn if the car has Apple or Android play! Just tell me how the vehicle drives!
Price advantage Ron? C'mon...55k with a 4cyl.? Anyone remember the Allante? Priced tightly alongside the Mercedes 500SL, it was an absolute flop marketing wise. Short about 100hp w/ retiree handling dynamics and Mercedes easily cleaned Cadillac's' clock. The ELR (2014)came out the box with a base price of 75K. GM marketed it as standalone vehicle with no direct competition but kept mentioning Tesla. Sold horribly. The next year the dropped the base to 65k and sales slowed to a crawl. Cadillac need not worry about Mercedes/BMW but better sweat Hyundai/Genesis.
Leonardo Initially no. First year or two it did ok. The design was beautiful but reliability creeps it ugly head out after so many miles. By the forth year the Northstar V8 was introduced. Better engine but by that time it's fate was sealed. Poor reliability coupled with poor fit and finish, crappy soft top,...could've been a winner.
Cadillac still trying to make a case for it's luxury division. Lagging behind still in engine output, efficiency and design. They continue using cheap plastic materials in everything from their door handles to interior components and trim. They continue to borrow pieces from the GM bin to put together a supposedly new addition to their line up but everyone knows that they cut corners every time. Get a used S Class or go with the Genesis for the same amount of dough. This CT6 is nowhere near a 7 Series or the S Class, completely different class. Why 3 different engine options?? See what I mean. Cadillac just being stupid. This is your flagship vehicle equip it with your best engine and avoid confusion or price drops. Regardless, this vehicle will be a bargain 4 years from now when it sits at $25 k used.
While the CT6 looks great on the outside, in my opinion there's too much hard plastic in the interior which cheapens it. I have a '14 ATS and the interior is superior to the CT6.
I have an ATS and have to completely disagree. Where except for the housing for the door handles is there hard plastic? Everything is layers of soft touch materials, aluminium and/or wood.
the ATS, CTS, XTS, and escalade all have solid interiors in terms of quality, this being their most expensive and biggest sedan you are wrong. I urge you to sit in one of these.
+Joe Black correction, coming from a guy who's owned a 1 lexus ES, 1 Mercedes S 550, 2 Lexus LX 470 and currently own a 2016 Lexus LX 570 You'd know the figure of those cars I just listed without google if you weren't a fat trump supporting poor white trailer trash bigot.
I hate when some reviewers say the interior is world-class...no it is not. To say that, is to negate everyone else that competes with this car in a vacuum. The CTS-V has a more world-class interior than this. The CT6 interior is bland...and the Genesis, S-class, 7 series, A8, LS and others have way better, sumptuous and drool-worthy interiors. Who doesn't have a digital instrument cluster...the touchscreen area looks bland and forgettable along with the center stack. This interior does not move the ball...at all
WTF IS THE POINT OF THIS CT6. I can get a C.P.O 2014 Mercedes S550. It is $65,000 and will walk this fake 7series and its hideous face...Cadilliac needs to get out of the high end luxury market and focus on LUXURY HOT RODS for Americans...That is what Cadillac is good at...
where are the Cadillac SUVs? each luxury European car maker has at least 3 SUVs...cadi has one: xt5 and it's friggin huge nobody wants that crap. why have they not put out a small SUV? wtf r they waiting for? their CEO should be fired.
lol u silly americans falling for this Chevy with luxo caddy badges. the front end says malibu and impala with a suit on. bad cheap american car like all your others. stick to making hot dogs silly americans.
John Dessire the platform doesn't change the familiarity with Chevy in styling and lack of leadership in the marketplace. It's not very distinct and will look cheap and aged in a few years. 88k for a top of the line caddy sedan with turbo instead of a naturally aspirated v8 at that? no self - respecting auto enthusiast would admit to doing such a thing in conversation with their peers. if I were to buy a cheaply made gm car ot would be a chevy ss. the reviewer nailed the caddy brand in a nutshell in the first minute. It's much like the rest of america: it used to be aspirational, now it's a joke trying to find its way with big splashes; but the problems are so internal, gm doesn't realize they're just putting parfum on without using deodorant.
Unfortunately I have got to agree here. Having been around Cadillac's all my life and around practically every decade of Cadillac, these newer models are clearly a dressed up Chevrolet in disguise as you stated. This is definitely not the best era for Cadillac and not true to Cadillac's standard values of luxury. And no more V8's is the biggest mistake in my opinion. Cadillac always had a V8 or larger (V10 and V16).
I finally got to see one of these in person. and yes they are big and beautiful
wow, cadillac really have done a great job on that interior / luxury features. good job. just think a fully loaded CT6 is still less expressive than the S class's base price. the best part is it only weighs 3600 LBS.

He was so right when he said that it's known for the escalades because that is the only Cadillac I ever see on the road.
What you know about european Standards. Are you being in Europe? I am living in Germany for the last 34 years and feel that Cadillac Is back in the game.
Can we stop comparing the CT6 to the S class and the BMW 7series they did not build this car to compete with those cars.
BMW is BMW
a crossover/SUV Omega RWD would be awesome and it would sell like hot cakes.
Damn... how big are Ron's guns?!
Dude big asf
A great review. But I am waiting for the CT9
BellinghamsterTrail I'll wait too then, I didn't even know they were planning a ct9!! I was just going to wait for a v8 option
that is not bad ... also, i thought crossovers were phasing out. i'll take either one. pLEASE!
Ron..... enough with the apple car play...there's a world without apple...signed Android Auto
I'm always perplexed when I see one of these on the road. I feel like whoever bought it must've been looking for a Cadillac DeVille and didn't hear they haven't been made since 2007

pedro fernandez Lincoln lost me with the lack of a v8 and the push button shift
Excellent review
not one mention of the new Lincoln continental...
Isn't the XTS a full-sized car as well?
no
nice looking car.
most importantly, how does it compare to a Jaguar XJ ?
nightriders92 It has better teeth

I don't know if you are aware but Hyundai or Genesis has come a long way. Look at the reviews for the G90.
Better than a 7 series or S class lmao
I like it!!👍👍
Cool than S, 7, A8, XJ, LS
To me, they drive better than the S Class and the 7 Series.
Ct6 😍
This car is gorgeous...until you get to the rear, which is a big let down. C'mon Cadillac! You were so close!

Don't like the interior that was borrowed from the Chevy Cruz from 10 years ago????Now imagine I could get a CT6 with an Audi A6 interior.
