      I have a 2014 5.0l Autobiography, only been in the shop once because of an ignition coil issue that was covered under a certified pre owned warranty, and once for tire warranty. Bought it used in 2017 @ 40k miles, and now it's @ 110k miles. I'll probably upgrade when it breaks down again. I did have to buy 2 batteries for it, but other than that it's been surprisingly reliable. They have a higher resale than most cars with the same msrp of the same year, like the GLS and S class. I think if you get all the initial issues sorted out in a land rover during the warranty, it's pretty reliable.

      They are fine if you look after them. Not a lexus but no worse than average. The problem is that people pick up used ones for family car money but forget the running costs are still exactly the same as the day it rolled out the showroom. They dont do the maintenance then whinge when they breakdown. I have had 3 Range Rovers and apart from expected batteries, tyres, brakes, servicing etc I have never spent an additional penny.

    • @seanl764
      @seanl764 8 месяцев назад

      @@davidk7262 Maintenance costs are very cheap if you actually know how to change the oil. You don't even need a jack since the clearance is so tall. It usually runs me $50 for the best synthetic mobil 1 oil, best engine protector like liqui moly ceratec, and filter from walmart and 1 hour of my time. People just don't know how to do anything nowadays and go to dealerships just to get ripped off, and you waste more time waiting for the oil change than it takes to get it done yourself. My quote from the local dealership is $320 for just service A. Which is a charged cost of over $270 for 1 hour of work which is insanity. Also they are not using liqui moly ceratec... so it's closer to billing $290 per hour. I also have to drive 50 minutes back and forth and wait for 2 hours at the dealership most of the time.

This is possibly the ultimate all round vehicle for those that need absolutely everything but circling the Nurburgring ... and if you want to do that and have one of these ... you likely have another toy for that of course 😎

      I test drove for a company, the last generation diesel models, before they were even thought of being sold in the US. We drove those things in Vegas, maybe over 300 miles a day, and we never had any issues. Granted, we had mechanics on hand if any issues arose, but still. Without ever having owned one, I’d say Range Rovers are fine (if you can comfortably own one) for at least the original warranty period. Outside of that, I’d get an extended warranty, and then maybe it’s buyer beware. But truly, buying any luxury car (other than say a Lexus) with a decent number of miles on it, or that is outside of the original warranty, it’s a risk.

    We do have a 2023 LWB and the interface is a bit disappointing. Do like that it has CarPlay but overall a bit disappointing. We are used to the awesome MercedesMe interface our other cars have so it is a bit of a bummer and I assume this interface will be the same.

      Wish you the best with ur RR, i'm looking forward buying one myself. But there are Two things i'm really concerned with. I'm a great sucker for comfort above all. And all of my picks until now had been prioritizing, Going over sharp speed breakers how much tilt and movement do you feel and when going over a pothole are some vibrations, shakes and jerky movements especially going over a rough train where even a vehicle with standard air suspension will bounce because our main purpose of buying this is because we constantly travel difference cities as we get projects and most of times there's a lots of rough train, so i'm kind of confused for making a decision between Mercedes equipped with E active body control system and RR. In Saudi Arabia the problem is it's not available unless you either buy Maybach or wait for so long for the GLS equipped with EABC. Tho even if i have other options i do want to pick RR as i love land rovers. But my concerns about this vehicle is kind of pushing me back and only the person who have experienced it as daily driver can help. Thanks for you time kindly if you can let me know your experience it would be really helpful

    If everyone who comments on the Range Rover so-called “reliability issues” had actually owned one then maybe I’d give credence to their comments. I’ve had Range Rovers for fifteen years and, properly serviced, every single one has been totally reliable. There’s no doubt some cars which have had their problems out there but, speaking only on my experience, I’d have one any day of the week.

      I agree we have owned two and both have been great cars. Our current Rover is a 2019 Full Size 5.0 supercharge. The only issue in the last three years was a front suspension airbag failure. Extended warranty cover it and all has been great. I think most people continue to think about the early 2000's models and relate those to the later models. A lot has changed with the brand.

    • @Offensivebeast
      @Offensivebeast Год назад

      100% agree, they are sensitive to neglect from what I can see, as long as you’re on top of your servicing and maintenance they’ll be fine, the only prominent issue that really can’t be argued is the software and electronics which is just something that comes with a vehicle this advanced it’s common across most luxury cars, not really something people should care about as much as they do.

      @@BlackonBlackE46 yes. But unfortunately bad reliability = terrible depreciation = bad lease deals (lease price are determines by expected depreciation)
      So you can lease a much more expensive car for a comparable lease payment. But bc of that, LR dealers end up having to do massive discounting to sell cars.
      Point is that bad reliability actually does indirectly hurt JLR's profit on new cars. Brands like Porsche are more profitable bc they don't have to discount as heavily, largely bc their cars retain value better.
