Really made me laugh when you were moaning about the “what is their obsession with palm down press on dual tex”
    Loving the hate on slab.
Really humble view on stuff and impressed with your mental game. The calm collected approach, especially when you thought you were disappointed with the pink but actually you reflected and got your head straight. Impressive.

Often the best sessions are the ones where I get the most frustrated 😂

@@TobyClimbing You deserve it! Really inspiring seeing you making all these really smart choices. Working hard and spending tons of times on boulders you aren't really enjoying because you know you need to work on it. Keeping your fingers taped during training even though it makes it harder to send anything, which can be super frustrating. These smart decisions are going to keep paying off big for you! Keep that winning mindset.

Don’t comment a lot on YT videos but please keep making these! I just started climbing 2 months ago, did my first v6 yesterday, and seeing someone 2 years younger but 10x stronger is really motivating. Being able to watch your day to day & thought process/training regimen is also super dope. Good luck on the rest of the szn!

Hey Toby! First of all, congratulations on your gold medal! I'm so happy for you. Well done! Also, thank you for taking us on this journey with you. These vlogs are really inspirational. It reminds me of early Magnus Midtbø youtube videos or Tim & Ross (now Ross Fulkerson solo channel). Thank you for showing us behind the scenes. Good luck!

Kinda crazy how he pistol squatted on the little knob on that pink slab. So much pressure on one point of your foot. Insane!

Given the training load for these kinds of events do you find you sometimes push slightly too hard and your sleep gets messed up or have you got all that pretty dialled in so you always experience a manageable level of load?

wouldn't it make more sense to use your binoculars in training if during comps you are only allowed to use them (as maybe getting used to the level of info the phone provides will leave you slightly unprepared for the lack of information the binoculars will give you in the comps)?
