Thanks for the helpful video. I have one red eared slider in a 75 gallon. It’s my first time keeping a turtle and I am in love. Had him since April and he brings so much joy. Doing my tank cleaning now. Have a blessed one!
Thank you for your comment! And you’re very welcome! I’m glad this video was helpful to you. Turtles are definitely fun pets to have! 🐢 🐢 Thank you, you have a blessed one as well!
Glad I watched now I know to keep half or some of the water 💧

Nice vid!
Thank you!
sorry I have not been keeping up, but congrats on 1k subs.
No worries and thank you! 💪🏾👍🏾
Great tips man
Thank you bro!!
This fish dealer out of Florida, has zebrina, lucustris, and lenticulata pike cichlids. Thought you might want to take a look, it's called predatory fins..
Yes I fool with Big Rod and Lisa. I been watching them on RUclips for some years now.
I’ve noticed with their popularity their prices has increased... So I have to really want the fish to consider their prices as an option. That zebrina pike might be the ice breaker. 💪🏾
Great information 👍🏿
Thank you bro!
I have two red ear sliders
That’s dope. Red ear sliders are savages. My sliders eat damn near everything.
@@TheFishCorner same thing they do
Amazing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you bro!! 🍻
are those little worms in the tank twitching around? I had so many of those in my turtle tank when I started adding live plants and they would not go away. I dont think they were detritus worms because I was doing water changes daily and feeding in a separate container and they kept growing in numbers. I finally got rid of all of them now by restarting the tank.
What kind of filter system do I need for a 20 G tank. I can’t keep it clean. I changed the water yesterday and it’s cloudy the next day. I also have red algae! I need serious help!!
You have to allow the tank to stabilize. You probably caused the tank to crash from the constant water changes. I was going through the same thing. I’d recommend a canister filter. Also a 20g is quite small. Which is why it gets dirty faster. Turtles have a large bio load. What type of turtles do you have?
@@TheFishCorner what do you recommend. I want to keep my 20 g tank but from experience the tank gets cloudy quick. I changed to recently and left 20% of water but the water was so dirty. The filter system I have did not clear the water in 24 hrs. It’s more murky than when I changed it. I have a zoo med turtle clean filtration. It goes under water. Do you think the filtration system is strong enough to filter? I use api chemicals to treat the tank but since I’ve had the tank I have not been able to keep the water clean. It needs to be changed in 3 days with fresh water. Could we connect outside of yt?
I have discord, fb, and ig
Hey where did you get the big rocks you use for hiding places for your fish...??
My LFS it’s called ocean rock.
Hello awesome video, I'm new to turtle tanks I have a 40 gallon for two of my red ear sliders. My question is why do you have two filters? I just have a canister filter running.
With turtles, more filtration is better. I’m actually going to buy another canister filter for the tank. They really need it. Also the HOB provides oxygen and surface water agitation. Very beneficial for turtles and fish alike.
Gracias

I need help I have a 20 gallon tank for my turtle who is just under 4inch shell length my filter pad gets really murky after 1 day what should I do
what was your method on adding water back into the tank?
This is a very old video…. I believe I was using a 4 way water shutoff valve.
Cleveland, how are you doing mate I would like to put a couple of turtles in my 220 community tank. It has medium-size fish mainly cichlids catfish the general stuff Have you ever had problems with your turtles harming your fish? Because I’m a little apprehensive ✌️
Oscar, what’s going on Bro, what kind of turtles do you have?
@@TheFishCorner i was thinking about adding fish to my turtle tank. I just got a hatchling reeves turtle. How do you feel about reeves turtles and fish and what kind of fish are good with the turtle?
My red slider and guppies do fine with me cleaningthir take out every 10 days. They've never been n dirty water
My turtle is still a baby. Vet said no more than 2 to 6 inches of water n tank
I’ve changed my methods a bit since this video. Turtles are very dirty though… you’ll see what I mean as they get some size on them.
How often do you clean your tanks?
Thank you for your question. I do 20% water changes once, sometimes twice a week depending on how much I’ve been feeding. I clean the filters every month or so. Doing water changes often extends the time in between filter cleaning.
@@TheFishCorner thank you! I have a diamondback terrapin and some goldfish in a 75 gallon tank!
You’re welcome! And sounds like you have a great setup! 🐢🐠👍🏾👍🏾
@@nlimonnl how long did those goldfish survive?
@masonhigginbotham9375 awhile they are pretty hardy fish. I have a different setup now. I have barbs and Molly's and a few others.
I was wondering, after you take water out, when it’s time to add water back in, do you add chemicals to the water your adding back in or is the 50% of water that you left in the tank have enough good bacteria?
Good question. Typically I don’t add in water conditioner after a water change unless it’s over 50%. For me, it also depends on the size of the tank. I feel more comfortable when the tank is bigger than I would if the tank is smaller.
@@TheFishCorner how long does the water conditioner stay active in the water? Like days later or even weeks if you add more water to your tank it will still kill off the chlorine?

Is that sugar sand
Idk what sugar sand is. But it’s just regular aquarium sand
What filter do you use !?
