    Exactly right. The example I gave was an exothermic reaction with a high transition state energy barrier. In fact, any exothermic reaction that releases more energy than required to overcome the transition state will be self-sustaining (at least hypothetically).

    Thank you for the explanation. This makes a lot of sense, but I want to point out that instead of using H on the y axis, G would be best be not all exothermique reactions are spontaneous. However, all exergonic reactions are spontaneous.

    So with the trimer of TATP you get a less stable product by using a catalyst therefore kinetic. And with the dimer DADP you don’t use catalyst and you get a thermodynamic reaction is this correct

    how is kinetic control used to affect the outcome of a chemical reaction where several reaction paths are available

      In such case i think so that the mechanism exactly followed by the reaction can only be predicted n we cannot say anything with certainity but the factors and kinetics help us to predict the most kinetically favourble path ..this can be more clearly explained by thermodynamic cycles
