Keep feeling that the thermo vs kinetic control is labeled wrong. Since the left side of the reaction has "lower" activation energy, shouldn't it be "kinetically favored" instead of thermo?
At low temperature, the reaction is under kinetic control (rate, irreversible conditions) and the major product is that from the fastest reaction.

then you reverse it
6:27 - You say 'the smaller the ACTIVATION energy'
