I know it's cliché but it's so liberating, at least for me, I just go out there and take photos, I find it very therapeutic !

Thanks bud 👍 yes I saw the 666 last night and I was like... Great ! Explains my bronchitis 😅 The s22 ultra is a good phone, used to have it a couple of years ago, really is down to you what you're after. Xperia range is awesome due to having a dedicated DSLR like half press shutter button which is probs the best feature of them all, for me at least. I really like the natural and neutral colours. It's not perfect by any means but to me it's right up there when it comes to mobile phone photography
@UpsideLens hahaha sorry mate, well now you can recover. That's also why I like the xperia! I see colors a little strange so I've never been fond of iPhone how it's so bright and colorful, it just looks fake to me. So the xperia neutral and natural is what I'm after. I'll definitely keep your videos going so I can learn. How do you like recording your videos with it?
I'll be honest video isn't the Xperia's Forte, I gave it a go in this video by shooting all the b-roll and unless you use a gimbal with it it will be very hard to get crisp motion as it feels like you're fighting against the OIS/EIS even with the steadiest of hands. As much as I like the photo aspect of it, the video capabilities are very underwhelming in a normal scenario. Having said that, if you pop it on a tripod and control everything in terms of lighting you'll get good results. I film all my talking vlogs with it and it's nice, crisp in focus and natural looking.
@UpsideLens that honestly is fine with me! I don't shoot anything fast moving and have a phone gimbal, anything vlog-like would be on tripod. I'm so new to the photography world, I feel making me use the xperia would help me carry over to a dslr if I ever get one haha
You hit the nail on the head, the Xperia will do just that ! Since its actually more challenging (and personally more rewarding because of it) to get good quality shots with mobile phones due to the hardware if you were to decide to switch to a DSLR down the road you'd find it much easier as it's really hard to mess a shot on DSLRs nowadays .

the photos taken by Sony Xperia 1v are too great wanting me to buy the phone even more, but I am waiting for the next Xperia this year. Hopefully, they will use a 1-inch sensor for the next flagship. I am so excited for that.
If we go by previous releases the VI series should be announced soon with release near summer. I don't think they'll go for a 1 inch sensor which tbh is useless as it's always cropped on mobile phones due to the size of the optics and the space between the lens and the sensor to actually make use of it. It's marketing purpose only ! What we would ideally need is yes a bigger sensor but with bigger pixels, on all lenses 👌
@@UpsideLens I hope they will improve the wide and telephoto lens, btw what a stunning photos. I'm planning to buy 1 V but maybe I'll wait if the VI this year will be good, if not I'll definitely buy the 1 V instead.
@kimkaye1712 if you're in no rush I'd say yes wait for Sony to at least announce the new series VI and then you came a decision 👍
It's funny how often you use the worst lens in this camera setup - the telephoto :)
And tbh I use it the most as I like the compression you get with it, not a fan of ultra wide in general but still use it now and then when required. I wish Sony had added the 48mm as that would easily become my most used lens ! Just goes to show that the focal length a lot of people criticise still gets you some descent results ! Just have to be aware of the limitations 😉
are you editing these photos afterwards if so what program i am learning to edit but i mostly like photos right out the way they are shot and i love my sony xperia 1 V more then any flagship and ive had them all
Hi yes they are all edited in Lightroom Classic (PC) I shoot all my photos in RAW format, as you just cannot get all the performance of the sensor readout from a jpg. Therefore being a RAW file you have to edit it. Go watch my other videos, I have editing tutorials as well as plenty more POV all with the Xperia 1 V 👍
I like all your photos except the one at 5:45 - the guy is simply too dark. Don't you think in these situations the HDR processing is a good thing?
That was intentional 😅 I just wanted the silhouette to stand out from the background so I darkened the hell out of it through masks.
Make another video without edit photo
Since I only shoot in RAW format they have to be edited somehow, that's the nature of shooting in RAW. I never shoot jpg due to how over processed they are. The only time I'll shoot jpg is if I need to shoot in burst mode which unfortunately is only possible via shooting in jpg.
