This show should be enough to convince you that you need to finish one of your coupes off with some high gloss paint and make it look really sharp like maybe the Ardun powered coupe.
We have a shiny car and the sweetheart roadster is getting painted nicely… not like we don’t like shiny cars…
8:09 The nitro cars firing up is one of my favorite parts of Lonestar Roundup. Glad you guys showed that here too.
Lost and found in the mid-west, going to be great!
Great coverage of the GNRS and thanks for showing all the different styles and types of cars!
Looks like a fun time! Been to the LA Roadster show a couple of times but not been to the Grand National Show. You guys are living the dream so enjoy!
beautiful cars!
Absolute joy.
I always get great ideas from these videos. Keep them coming!!!
Great tour of the shops and the show! I'll keep saying it, Sweetheart Roadster should be an AMBR contender when finished! Go Iron Trap Garage, keep moving forward!
Great idea, totally agree.
I grew up in Norcal so my teen years were immersed in car culture and seeing these incredible hot rods cruising around the mall or at the local burger joints. But that was over 40 years ago, so thanks for the memories!
I grew up on the opposite side of the spectrum, rust belt blue collar family who didn't see cars as anything more than a transportation tool. Now here I am at 63 trying to make up for lost time. Matt and his crew help keep me motivated and in the right frame of mind.
Excellent camera work, I really loved seeing the Lincoln Zephryr's.
good to see the uncertian t at this show lost for 50 years great vid guys
Dude!!!! Great video!!! Those barn fines are bitchen!!!! You can never leave home with out your u-haul!!! Lol!!!
Dang there were some real cool cars there! Thanks Matt and Mike for sharing your trip!
Sweet lnspiration!!!! Awesomeness!!! Craftsmanship at it finest!!!
8:32 I see myself in the crowd… I’m famous 😂
Really well done, thank you!
Absolute works of art. Great video. I love these occasional Iron Trap trips to hot rod shows.
I am so happy they found the Uncertain-T
"wrong plane" 😂
I would love to see you guys walk around and talk about some of your favorite cars.
It would be cool to road trip the 38 Ford to the Roadster show and give updates on the trip.
Good stuff Maynard
Someday, I’ll make it there. I’ve been to California, just never the right time of year.
Thanks Guys good to see you all some machines I can only imagine how much work go's into buffing all that chrome and paint. Guestion are you still your old place in the up state ? I just wondered that was a cool set up. Thanks Guys yes and I know on the wrong plane you have a safe trip back I catch you on the next one 🫶🕊️🦘☘️👍
great music
Next year you have to visit Mike Bello's shop in SanDiego.
He does modern suspensions under traditional customs , and he'd be a great resource to help improve your metal working skills.
Btw
Before everybody comes after me, I am not implying Matt is bad at what he does.
The Free T would fit right in there.
well done !!
8:16 One car cracklefest.
I could see the Sweetheart Roadster there someday....
thanks!
Thank you Matt and Mike for sharing this adventure with me loved it !
Craklefest nostalgia, that thing is eloquent .
Its not about when you get up....its about how much you get done in a day. I get up at at 4pm and work till 4 am go to bed at 6 am lol....done that for years. And i really like drinving at night on enpty street when i'm hauling cars 1000 miles home to the shop....
Good stuff. It was great that you guys were able to get a few days away.😊
That looks like my friend Steve Serr's head on that roadster. the one with the Miller side plate.
Those cars are beautiful but I would rather have one of yours and just get in and cruise.
Loved the Kennedy Brothers spot when we were out last year. It's crazy when you pull up and can't see anything, then realize how tight it's all packed on to the property! Butmmed that we didn't get to go this year.
Haha so true! A true hidden gem!
East meets West. Too cool for school.
Nice job Mike 👍 now back to work 😂😂
I’m down for your 21/2 cents, looking forward to it!
Great looking Cars & Trucks.
#STAYSAFE
#PHILLYPHILLY🇺🇸
lots cool stuff
Thank you. Please do not ever change that music in the end of all your videos.
It's like getting home at the end of the day, something familiar.
???? In the video lead-in I noticed Narrowed rearends.. are you going do a video on Narrowing a Early Ford rear-end for the 33 coupe with the Ardun??
The one car with the checker board fire wall . I`m sure I watched some of that car being built on the internet of course.
I did a Dad dance to the incidental music.
nice-
should of been doing some research on the Delorean 32 while you were out there
Ya don't know how bad your stuff sucks till you go to the roaderster show 😮
Agreed!
The Grand National Roadster Show used to be the Oakland Roadster Show. LA doesn't deserve it. Oakland was more central in California, LA is in southern California, thats an 8 hour drive from here in Nor Cal. Oakland was 45 minutes to an hour from here. I'm 3 hours south of Oregon.
been living out here in california (sacramento and east bay) for over a quarter century now and rarely, if ever, see these types of cars actually on the road anywhere, other than within a mile or so of a car show. what a shame. :(
i suppose the lack of any real weather protection is the primary reason.
😃😃😃
I could never understand how someone could ruin the front end of a 33 or 34 Ford 😢😂😂
🤩
Now I know why you corrected me. Enjoy
Were you in Pomona?
What became of your roadster pickup/shop truck ??
Sold to a viewer
did you make it to the Early Ford Store in San Dimas?
Not this time
To be honest , Matt , your cars have everything these cars have , plus 3 . 1 , Your cars can be driven . 2 , Your cars will probably cost a buyer less than the paint-jobs , on most of these cars . 3 , We get to see how much work , minus editing , goes into doing a car , restored or hot rodded . They are pretty , but that's about it . Some have whole stages built around the car . "Show -car", looks like it means ," never driven again . That , my friend , is sad . All of that work , to put it back solid , & made beautiful again , but is never to run again . Perhaps I am just old fashioned , but for myself , the form should never surpass the function . For me , the difference is drivable , or display . Your Green Arden , the Sweetheart Roadster , heck any car you have , running or not , would be just fine sitting in there . The only difference I see , is the paint job , & practicality . As the local farmers say , " Paint don't plow the field ." And Hotrodders say ," Chrome don't get you home ." Still , I thank you for the photographic tour . I see the inspiration . Looks to me like you have the right idea , but your babies get to go cruising .
Lowriders at the Roadster Show? When I was a young adult living in SoCal, I would go most years. No Lowriders in sight. Not hating the street sweepers though.
Most of the cars at the show look like they were built using mail order parts. Didn’t see much in the way of custom or even vintage parts 🤷♂️ I appreciate their efforts but, I much prefer the stuff you guys build in your shop using traditional/vintage materials and old Skool methods.
Maybe they did such a good job building/fabricating that they look "store bought"? That's why they're at that show?
Just curious how the F$ck do you get on the wrong plane they scan your tickets and didn't check the body count
It was a joke , it was planned that way ,an excuse to go parts hunting .
