I agree that within the first few hours the travel can seem monotonous, but my advice to any new players would be to use your long ship to travel along the rivers, unlocking fast travel docks, whilst heading towards the sync points. Go to them on foot, the game is forgiving with objective times letting you do what you want at almost any point and npcs will wait for you if your vere off to do something like climb a sync tower so be sure to always climb up unlocking fast travels consistently as you go, withing a few hours you should have enough unlocked to always have a fast travel point near your next objective.

AC three wasn't bad but had too much less enjoyable, uninteresting content, way to centered around upkeeping your vast stretches of land. AC Rogue I thought was a huge comeback for the series but for me it all really started slipping in quality after that. My wallet and I will be waiting until we get an AC game that's much more down to its roots and not an (Insert and 3rd person open world RPG title here) clone.

@@yourdaddy.956 No, it doesn't limit you, to my knowledge. You gain skill points at a good pace (sometimes given free ones for completing puzzles), weapons aren't plentiful but are few and personalized (like he said with upgrading and runes), and it just has a good feel to it whether you're exploring or doing combat. One thing I was hoping he'd mention is how if you WANT, you can enable one-hit assassination like in the older games. I do not know if Odyssey or Origins had this, as I only played a bit of Odyssey and am thoroughly enjoying Valhalla, but I did appreciate them putting that in there even if I don't use it.

I lost interest pretty quickly, and I still haven't finished either of the previous games, but I tanked Valhalla in about a week because I never lost interest in its storyline.

One of my all time favorite games. Not necessarily because of the gameplay. But the immersion it spot on. It was even better since I happened to play this game after finishing Vikings on Netflix. Which made everything in the game more impactful. I loved fantasizing as being a Viking and pilaging and raiding. Even small details like hiding your helmet. I always play with my helmet hidden so you always see Eivor's face throughout the story. However, when I am at the final part of a story and there is a big siege starting I always put back my helmet on because to hype myself. I just jump into the fry and slaughter everyone in my ways with my dual wielding great axes fully upgraded and thane armor set. Love this game. The fantasy of being a viking and the cold atmosphere and mountains.

Black Flag is the best. There was a good variety of on land gameplay and countless hours of ship battle gameplay. I was never burnt out on this game. I got the PS4 at launch and this was my first PS4 game and it was so much fun. I continued the same tradition and got a PS5 at launch and have been playing Valhalla non-stop. I'm loving every minute of it.

But then again, since the world is so huge, i don’t know how they would manage the content, and the story would prob not be as focused as the older games. @Lonely Jedi Assassin’s Creed has been gone for a while. RPG’s are great, so are all other genres, but not for Assassin’s Creed. AC had a story-driven narrative for years, which is why it got so popular. The story was rich and the characters were well developed. Not so much anymore, very forgettable. The gameplay looks good (aside from the apparent lack of stealth and focus on combat only, which is disappointing as they are Assassins), but that seems to be the direction of the game now. Had my time with it I suppose, they’re catering to a new generation.

@@hansbune3467 ubisoft’s making a ton of money off of this formula, more than the last few games prior to the trilogy. unless valhalla suddenly really falls off in sales, i doubt they want to go back

I've been playing it for 80 hours now. power level 200. The store is 1 store just different locations. as in you buy this product from this store its going to not be there at any of the other stores. I have not messed with the how long to wait for restock. The only method for restock is to level or do some missons. I have been messing with the difficulty settings a bit still working with it. The stealth is working well. Im slightly having a headache from that assassinate button where the thing is a tiny sliver. In master stealth setting. sort of almost have a keen idea for how to do combat. when it comes to traveling, you mainly can combo boat horse and view points if you get all the view points when messing around early in the game or in parts. you will still be running around regard- less in some areas about 600 to maybe 8 or 900 Meters to main story spots. Speaking about the story, its ok, in some parts and in some could have had more added. I like the choose whos a traitor or who will rule this land type things cause some of the out comes just add to the story well. This is not a title you can just expect to play and be done in short period expect to play at lest near 100+ hours roughly. its got a bunch of different things just some need to be tweaked a good amount. Ubisoft has like 1 or 2 more Dlcs then over to the new game. I have still not messed with any dlc other than what was free to players like the. Im cool with collecting materials to upgrade gear but a slight tweak would be nice. Not had a lot of side quest experience yet.

This is like Black Flag for me. I had more fun being a pirate than being an Assasin.
