Ignore all the older comments saying the SCPH-1000 can't play PAL games using this trick. It does in fact WORK, but you will get black & white screen unless you use RGB output. I managed to play an old Playstation Magazine demo disc using this swap trick and it played just fine.
I didn't understand a word he said, but good video. Too bad I have a SCPH-7501 model Playstation and this method won't work on it. Modchip all the way.
** VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT THE SWAP TRICK** THIS METHOD CAN CAUSE PROBLEM ON GAMES THAT USED CDDA TRACKS. Explanation: when the PS memorize the toc and protection of the original disc, it will never read that again! They'll be stored on subcpu. So that means, if you insert a disc (cdda or cdxa type) and swapped with a game like Tomb Raider 2 -- it'll freeze on cdda playback. That happens for different toc used on the disc!! So: CDXA (original) ---> CDDA (backup or original) : NOT GOOD CDDA (original) ---> CDDA (backup or original): NOT GOOD CDXA (original) ---> CDXA (backup or original): OK
Not true. Have tried the swap trick on my SCPH-1000. Both NTSC-U/C and PAL games (tested *Twisted Metal* in NTSC-U version and Euro Demo discs) play just fine.

SCPH-3000ぐらいまではディスクスワップ出来ますよ。
3000とかはpsロゴが出たらすぐ入れ替えるとできます。

@Rossdale Intac Wrong. The swap trick on my SCPH-1000 allowed me to play both US and PAL region games just fine.

nope. It's running only NTSC-J games. NTSC-U/C and PAL games isn't running.
