I'm 41 years old and have been obsessed since a young child. There is not a day that goes by that I don't watch something DragonBall related. He has been such a huge part of my life. I grew up dirt poor and he gave me something to look forward to when I got home from school. My dog is a 14 yr old siberian husky named Broly and my cat is beerus. His contributions to the world will be remembered till the end of time. Thank you for the awesome tribute...

To people confused about their grief. The passing of someone like Toriyama is a unique kind of grief. 99% of us never met him and yet he changed our lives. I’ve already seen people saying don’t be sad Dragon ball will keep going. But it’s not the franchise itself that changes our lives it’s the vision of this one man. It will be hard for anyone outside the fandom to understand what it’s like but don’t be afraid to grieve, don’t think you shouldn’t because you didn’t know him. Dragon ball helped me have so many experiences and meet people and have hype community reactions but it was also there in moments with just me. Those are the moments coming to mind right now, quiet moments alone with this series. For me is was watching Goku go super Saiyan 3 before all my sport matches to hype me up. And it was playing kakarot after a bad breakup, small moments that no one will know about that’s what’s hitting me the hardest. This kind of grief also gives us a community to help each other out through this process, if you’re a new or old dragon ball fan we are all feeling the same thing and we can all be there for each other through this

never had the opportunity to watch Dragonball Z as a teen. I came from a pretty poor background lol.... But, I did know about it. Fast Forward to about 20ish years...
I have had a few life events that pretty much broke me as an Adult... One of my son's passed away in 2017 at the age of 5... In 2023 went through a horrible divorce that was traumatic...
My 14 year old recommended that I watch Anime as a means of therapy... I started to watch this show and I have watched the entire show from Dragonball to Dragonball Super.. I cannot put into words how this show affected me in such a positive way.. This show in so many ways saved me. It taught me to push through all my limits and it put my ass back in the Gym.
Watching this show was a spiritual journey for me... Vegeta's words throughout the whole saga live in my head about Saiyan Pride and not being weak and pushing through my limits in my own way..

I grew up being so inspired by Dragonball, Toriyama gave me the hope that maybe one day I could actually make my own stories. But... I lack any artistic talent, I am trying now and haven been for several months but never was able to fully commit to attempting a path in Manga. Cuz it scares me how others would perceive any stories I write. But... Hearing that he passed on tore at me... Like my heart was ripped from my soul yesterday. Despite that... I wanna honor the feeling Toriyama gave me when I was so young. I doubt i'd ever be successful in my endeavor but I wanna do my damndest regardless. I wanna give that same inspiration to others the same way Toriyama did. Thank you Toriyama.. For a childhood full of memories. And I hope that as an adult I can spread that love and passion you had to others. Rest in Peace.

I am 36-year-old and I still get emotional, with him I grew up, he conveys to you quite and beautifully messages, not to ever give up and listen to your heart, to have the courage and bravery to do what you fear and to break your limits in a super conscious person, to invest in people who care about you and to learn to love, we only live once. Thank you Akira Toriyama for the beautiful childhood years.

To this day I still shed tears. It feels like I lost a great teacher, someone who inspired me to become stronger and take steps as a comic artist. I still remember after school, still wearing my school uniform, I ran in a hurry to the nearest bookstore just to ask for the latest volume of Dragon Ball. And how happy my heart was when the shopkeeper said, "You're lucky, there are only 3 volumes left!". Reading the manga in my room without changing my school uniform, enjoying the trip to planet Namek. And my liking grew bigger and confirmed myself as a loyal fangirl of the Prince of All Saiyans. Goodbye, sensei.... I will always remember you as my great teacher.

I'm damn near 50 year old and discovered DBZ in the late 90s through toonmi. And all these years later, with a Vegeta figurine on my desk staring at me in the face right now. Dragon Ball has been and will be with me. It is pushed me, inspired me to be better, evolved, and persevere. Toriyama was one of the best of us. And I am thankful for all that he did in this world.

    I can't stop the tears.
Here in Canada, we had three channels when it came to Kids & Teen content in the 2000's.
    Treehouse - preschool
    Teletoon - Tween
    YTV - Teen
Dragon ball and its subsequent shows Z & GT would play on TV at 8 PM & 8 #0 PM every Wednesday. GT would play on Friday.
    Intros by Blue Water Studios.
I have happy memories watching Dragon Ball every week here, waking up the next morning and telling my friends about the stories of Goku.
Each episode captured more and more of my imagination. I may not be good at drawing or animating but the universe he created will always stay close to my heart.
Dragonball & Akira Toriyama taught me that no matter how sad life can be. A smile and laughter can make all the difference.
    I will really miss him.
I need to learn how to animate.

On March 1, 2024, we lost one of the few remaining legendary comic book/cartoonist creators (Manga ka). Thank you for bringing happiness to millions of people through your artistry and captivating stories.
This man left an indelible imprint in my childhood that will forever stay with me as one of the happiest momentos of my life. Words are not enough to describe the immense positive influence his creations had in my life. The lessons, the laughs, the emotions, the memories, the friendships and bonds we built while enjoying the same passion for the stories that brought us together in a way that today's entertainment media can never reach.
I strongly believe that good men keep their inner child alive throughout their lives. This single perspective is only possible due in grand part to Akira Toriyama Sensei and his creations. To be able to influence my life in such a way is remarkable. To think he was able to do the same for millions of people across the world is truly astounding.
Akira Toriyama Sensei, may you rest in peace. Your legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of the millions of people your stories touched across the expanse of the globe as well as multiple generations. The world is a sadder place with your departure.
"Always work hard, study well, eat and sleep plenty that is The Turtle Hermit's way. We must master the art of peace in addition to the art of war" - Master Roshi - DB/DBZ/DBS.
Masako Nozawa-san has released a statement on tragic passing of Akira Toriyama: “I don't want to believe it. My head is empty because I don't want to think about it. Even so, every time I see Goku, I remember what Toriyama Sensei said to me, 'You will take care of Goku, won't you? ' I cherish that moment.
