    Returning to this review after paddling my M Scorch for a season. Gotta say a lot of this rings very true to me still.
    The way I describe this boat is it feels like a creeker made for people used to half slices. Leaning forward really is rewarding in most situations, and keeps the tail from catching so often. . . Coming from the Ripper, this feels way more friendly with more primary stability and the bow stays so high. Bouncing off of rocks is consistent and rarely catches me off guard. . . This quickly became my go-to boat for all the gnarly runs this season. :)
    Thanks for the great content, Wade! Happy Paddling!

    Great review. I like that you are describing more of your experience both while paddling and after, as opposed to some of your earlier reviews that had less talking. I’m a little surprised the tail was that “grabby” given that you are barely in the weight range for the Lg. Might really be noticeable for peeps in center or top of range. Did stern remind you of Alpha at all?

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  3 года назад

      Hey thanks feedback yeah I wanted to add little more in there at the end and I think it was like it’s not really floating under as much because I’m on so much of the lighter side it when I got more forward it felt like it help but this boat was designed to drive off that aggressive tail so I think it’s just a tune in process it’s a very different feeling boat

    The video's inset shows the width as 27", as do a number of reviews and dealer websites. The Pyranha website says 25.5", which is what I got when I measured mine. Could be that there was an erroneous release of specs early on.

    Hello Wade
    Please say always something about sizing during your reviews. For me as an intermediate skilled, 182lbs paddler, for many boats I am always between the M and L. So I do not know what to choose ? Of course it also depends on what for rivers and runs but maybe you can fit all parameters a little bit together.

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  2 года назад +1

      I do cover size on how I fit and what I think would be good size for the boat I’m also 185 and puts me a lot of times in between M and L so I do try my beat to cover the size of the boat and even throw the manufacturer’s specs up I covered it in the walkthrough of the on water review

  • @jamesshort6856
    @jamesshort6856 3 года назад +2

    This boat looks so sick!!! I'm not in the market for a creek boat atm, but if I do need one, this is at the top of the list. How do you feel about a halfslice version? I would love that, although the ripper is still going strong

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  3 года назад +1

      HalfSlice the options I like the ripper rewind as 2 of the top and the Antix 2 and chilli are second but honestly they all all so good as far as paddling downriver it comes down to how much play you want on the tail and that goes Antix 2 and rewind downriver smoothness ripper and chili

    Wade, what size Klingon skirt do you have? I have a large Scorch on order and they are out of Klingon skirts in my size locally. Pyranha doesn't have a cockpit size listed yet and I see some of their other large models take XL or XXL skirts. Thanks for any suggestion so I can get on the water day 1. Your video has me stoked.

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  3 года назад +1

      Well that question has a few answers but I will just talk about this boat and it’s what I would say it a River running Creeker but traditionally thinking boats like the machno and nomads those are true creekers rounded off bows soft edges for sliding over rocks but nowadays manufacturers have blended the worlds together better I think this is more like a fast flowing downriver boat more suitable for big water type runs where say like the machno is better for rock boofs and soft landings no surprise edges ect hope that helps
