So many of these need further research and background work before you post shit.

Find a similar type of role to what Matthew McConnaughey did with the Dallas Buyers Club role, which earned him his first Oscar, or Jack Nichollson when he won an Oscar for the Shining. So anything from an ultra camp gay guy to a demonic psychopat, not forgetting the traditional mentally or physicly challenged roles either, like DiCaprio`s big break through character in What`s Eating Gilbert Grape, and like anyone from Tom Hanks to Russel Crowe also earned Oscar`s from. I doubt he will be out of work as it is, but it would take something as big as an Oscar nomination to truely bring him back into the limelight, and to elevate his career (which still is pretty solid and steady, compared to many others - impressive, compared to the average Hollywood actor/actress; who mostly waits tables).
