    I like the S5 over the M340i/M440i but saying there is no difference in performance is not even remotely true. BMW underrated those cars severely and it shows in pulls both from stop and in roll races

      Hey! I personally much prefer the M340i/M440i. I think I did mention that the BMW has better off the line performance? There is no lag or delay present, unlike the Audi.

    • @zadeh79
      @zadeh79 Год назад +1

      @@DMCarReviews BMW M340i is a faster car by 0-60mph (M340i 3.8s vs S5 4.3s), but you have to launch hard (full launch mode) to get the M340i off line like that. Audis, on the other hand, are traditionally easy to launch. What I love about Audi S-line, is that even without a full launch, and building zero brake boost from a stop, the car will sling forward. I like others, much prefer the Audi S5 launches to BMWs M340i, just because you can accelerate so casually fast and can be useful in any practical situation on the road.

    Nice review, I own a 2023 S3. Thought hard about which model to get, but since Audi just had remodeled the S3 in 2022, I went with it over a base S4 or a used S5. I like the interior better, specifically the infotainment being in the center and not on top of the dash and don't need the space of a bigger car much anyway. I notice lag on my S3 when im in auto or comfort a bit, but sport and dynamic the response is instant, so when ever I need to accelerate hard I pull back the little dongle for sport mode and zero lag.

    • @DMCarReviews

    Hey, great video as always. I was recently shopping for a car and asked your opinion between the s5, stinger and a few other cars and you were super helpful. Decided to go for the X3 M40i and I have 0 regrets. Many people say the Macan S is in a different class but I didn’t see the point in spending an extra 15-20k. I have to say if I got a sedan, I probably would’ve opted for the s5 over the m340i just because of the seats and how it looks. The only thing I didn’t like was how they glued the screen on top of the AC vents.

It holds the road better at higher speed and there is more feedback. Both are amazing cars, so can't go wrong with either one. I've driven faster cars but to me the driving enjoyment depends largely on 'responsiveness' and refinement of power delivery. In the S4/S5 series their is a broad torque range, starting very low (1350 RPM). Combine that with little turbo lag and sporty pedal feel, and it makes it a blast to drive. Also, Audis, with Quattro, are known for how they takeoff - powerful, but smooth, with little drama (wheelspin/hop).

BMW has to add so much horsepower to their cars but if Audi would match BMW horsepower for horsepower, BMW would never have a chance! Audi has the 2nd best wins at LeMans behind its cousin, Porsche. Audi has racing pedigree and history. Audi does not need to put exhaust pops via the speakers either!
