Bought these, and they sound great for their size. They’re definitely in that “magic” level of price/performance. The auto-crossover when using a sub was what convinced me, but now I’m not sure if I prefer them with my mini sub (Pinnacle Audio 6.5”) or standalone. Just wish they had a grill. Like black because they’re inconspicuous.
I know it's weird I just bought a martinlogan 400 sub to put with my kanto ora and I almost feel like they sound better without the sub maybe it's the crossover point of 100 HZ or it's because I bought a ported sub
@@JASONJAMESMARTIN Make sure you set the crossover on the sub to at least 160hz and try moving it around a bit. You are most likely sitting in a bass null that makes things sound weird.

I followed Z's suggestion for the OS10, they are perfect for my room, it has way bigger bass than I thought is possible from that size, after that I upgraded myself to KEF LSX and that's basically my max speaker size limit for my room, it's better, but the bass quantity is definitely less. I got a Polk HTS10 to mitigate that and finally it's a full upgrade. Without the sub, the LSX is not enough of an upgrade.
Thanks for the review, I always come back to your channel when i'm in the market for new audio gear. I got the Matte Gray ones ordered. Now I'm considering maybe grabbing a sub.
Just like to say I bought the klipsch heritage headphones on your recommendation years ago and they are still improving with age thank you,and try yours again soon.
Ive got several bookshelf setups because i come from no replacement for displacement mentality. However the T0's to date seem to be the most attractive desktop solution to date, and remains my desire. Cant wait to hear an updated comparison from you
I think you inadvertently might of sold a lot of Iloud Micros with this video, Zeos! They sound absolutely amazing! The Kantos sound great too! I’m now interested in them Swans though! 😎
@@ZReviews I just opened the comments to see if somebody mentioned the Vanatoo T0 :) I feel lucky you mentioned it few hours ago and even a video is coming. :) I've been investigating speakers for the last 2 month super intensively... I am getting tired of that - hopefully I will buy something soon. I want 2.1 but initially I will buy only 2. I was considering q acoustics m20, audio pro a28, kef lsx (on a black friday deal), the fives, Triangle LN-01A, Vanatoo T0. For now I think I am leaning towards the T0s but lets see. Seems all the "smart" speakers like q acoustics, audio pro, kef even sonos - have terrible ios/androind app experience and all of them have deal breaking flaws in their software/firmware. Also I like good mids which the T0s seems to have and very few from the other options can provide.
ilouds have a DSP as well, doesn't that mean that their audio quality suffers since they get the analog signal and then have to do the converting again?
Interesting desktop option... but fir a $100 more can get some serious active speakers if you can spare the extra space. Also: Frazey Ford - "You Got Religion" is a great track for testing clarity, stability of bass whilst able to reproduce vocals. Would love to hear it in some tests.
Edifier mr4 is like 85euros right now (France-EUR) pulled the plug I needed beater speakers when Im working far from home (a couple months a year) still waiting on them but at this price I bet I will be amazed !
You should try a pair of Cambridge Audio Minx Min22's. The BMR drivers are pretty great. I'm biased, I have them, but you do need an amp and a sub. They are the polar opposite of wave guides, BMR's radiate basically in a 180 degree dome shape. Absolutely perfect for near-field, you get a wall of sound and impeccable stereo separation.
Have those paired with a Cambridge Audio sub and sound great. Although not sure how they compare with other ‘micro’ desktop speakers. They are so small I would say they are super micros.
I've been using the Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II since 2009, Apparently these were made by Cambridge Audio for Creative, I'm no Audiophile, but I do appreciate good audio when I hear it, I feel the Gigaworks still sound great compared to more modern offerings if the bass port is stuffed and the EQ is adjusted for bass/treble, their sound has improved massively IMO over time with better sound sources, IE improvements in motherboard audio chipsets or external dac's
I use them with my SMSL SU9 DAC and they sound just as good with a USB connection from my digital source. I did a few hours of A/B testing and to my ears, the SU9 + Ora's really brings energy to my music collection for sure! Very happy with the Ora's. Defo recommended to anyone who can afford them for the desk top!
ZEOS YOU RECENTLY MADE A VIDEO ABOUT THE FOSI AUDIO V3 AND YOU WERE USING YOUR CUSTOM POWER SUPPLY WONDERING WHERE YOU BOUGHT THE POWER CABLE THAT CONNECTED TO THE CUSTON POWER SUPPLY AND THEN TO THE FOSI V3.
They sell the adapters on Amazon. But I also had to use a custom adapter on that adapter to make it the right size but I just happen to have in a drawer. I cut up a Micca speaker cable for the actual wire
Nice speakers Zeos, try the Genlec 8010As to complete the micro monitor line-up, don't bother with the micro Mackies and Presonus, they're just bad.Oh and do you remember how the Edifier Lunas and Vanatoo T0 sounds to compare to these?
Bluetooth is highly compressed digital audio. Apple airplay uses Wi-Fi and is much better quality. Most powered speakers outside of Kef, Sonos, and a few others do not support AirPlay because it cost money to do so. It’s always converted to analog in the end to drive the actual woofer or tweeter.
Z been a subscriber for a long time. Can I make a recommendation? Measure the hardware, then come up with a rating system. It will be quoted all over the internet. Kinda like RTings for audiophiles. Your channel has been not been growing much over the past couple years and just brainstorming for a new idea. Also I believe your videos need more structure, like a repeatable sequence of how you review things. Then at the end of the video you throw in your guesses for measurements and then perform the test, then you rate the hardware on your personal scale. As of right now as a viewer, I’m just not sure what to expect when I watch a video, it’s just unorganized and I never have anything to look forward to at the end. I think with more structure, plus your personality, you could interest a lot more people (i realize you have a lot of viewers for your genre but it could be way more, every guy on earth is interested in cool ass electronics)
What are you talking about. His knowledge on audio products has nothing to do with his knowledge on video production and subscriber count. I literally made that post because he has 269k subscriber’s and he deserves more. As of right now his channel mostly appeals to hardcore audiophiles, he needs to broaden his audience and work on video production. Maybe you should work on understanding the difference between criticism and constructive criticism. If you must know I’ve been a subscriber for many years and I noticed his growth is stagnant.
From the video it just sounds like a VERY pronounced v-shape compared to the Micros. They will sound immediately better of course, given the mid-bass focused nature of small drivers in small boxes; that's also the reason why you're more "impressed" when using them without a sub, their one and only job is now delegated to a dedicated speaker that's made for that purpose, and you start noticing the lack of mids. I don't know if I would spend that much on something that sucks everything out of the music I'm listening to.
Buy an amp and literally any bookshelf speaker. Cheaper. Better. If you need super small speaker find yourself some used Cambridge Ensembles. The 1s or 2s are tall but shallow. The 3s are just Ok in my opinion. The 4s are legendary. They are a full range single driver cube and have MANY limitations. But might have the most honest and ‘big’ sound of any micro cube speaker ever. Literally everything else that size is worse: the Jamo 360s, the orbs, obviously any of the bose cubes- all much worse. And the ensembles come with a passive subs.
So I've been using passive systems for about 8 years now, and I see myself moving to active monitors for my desktop setup within the next year budget allowing. What advantages do you see for a passive system? I've had some great teacs, miccas, jamos, and Yamahas passive. Currently can afford JBL 305's but saving for some vanatoos or genelecs if a windfall occurs in the next year.
Yawn! I have a proper separate setup in my lounge. When it comes to my PC and casual listening I just want simple speakers with USB C. I hear you but I think you are mixing your use case - with respect
@SilverJoystix bruh u wasted 350$ actually. Had these, wasn't bad but after trying a decent pair of passive speakers I would highest pay 100 dollars for these speakers xd.
This came back up on my feed. The irony is I recently upgraded my desktop system… Kanto Yu Passive 4 plus powered by a Fosi V3 class D amp fed from my Topping DAC. Also have an old Pioneer 8” sub (from the Andrew Jones set) running high level from the Fosi. The Kantos were 150. V3 was $99 (with the 48v psu and the orange knob). Sub I already had but you can find one for less than $100. Dac I already had but you could run an SMSL Dac for $70 or get the Topping DX1 and get a quality headphone amp to boot. In any case this is still a bad value- IF sound quality is the primary motivator. BUT. I have found that powered speakers can be a remarkably good value. We also have a set of Swan OS10 that my wife uses. The Kanto Yup4 sound better than the swans but it’s way closer than it should be considering the swans are $130 on sale. If you could connect a sub to the swans that might make it a tougher sell to go with the more involved setup. Ultimately the OS10s have a more laid back sound that works well on a desk but lacks some of the immediacy I enjoyed about the Kantos. Plus the touch pad and remote are both god awful. But, if you need a simple setup that sounds great and costs best to nothing it’s hard to go wrong.

Solid speakers brighten the Tweeter goes to this 100% bass is probably a draw

I can see some of their other speakers come in interesting colours, so maybe that's a good sign?
