I just realized I did sign up for the workshop but I never got any links? Maybe I need to check junk folder but I usually get your emails. I didn't sign up for the FB group.
@@TheMinimalMom I just wanted to thank you for helping me declutter my home. I now say things like, “no I don’t need that beautiful basket because it just wants to hold things.” My home feels so much less stressful and I am having such an easier time cleaning it. You really are such a joy to spend time with and I love Diana as well. ❤God bless you all ❤
I ❤ pillows too! When we sold our house last hear I had to get rid of lots of them. EXCEOT bed pillows got to have them we have 6 Not counting with the coordinating throw pillows that go with our comforter set. Not that you need my permission but it’s OK to fill your own bucket with pillows. Can I put some of mine in your bucket? Lol❤ The bucket takers remind us to be humble. The real gift is in the giving. She opens her hands to the poor and reaches her hands out to the needy” Proverbs 31:20
Have Tom build a behind the sofa table. Where it spans the back of your couch but it super thin. Then you’d still have an open concept and spacious feel without the bulk of side tables.
If I could go back a few decades to when my kids were young, I would handle the gift/toy giving exactly like you are doing. Less is more and there is no need for all the stress that comes when buying/paying for these things and then the clutter so much stuff makes. It literally used to make me cry when I tried to tidy the house and pick up all the junk. I can see that your kids are very content and find healthy, creative ways to entertain themselves. When they are grown up, it's the time spent as a family that will be their fondest memories. My adult children never talk about all the stuff they had as kids, so don't let anyone make you feel inadequate about what stuff you give them. AND I love your pillows!
100% agree…”use the good china…and pillows!” And yes, designers say you can mix plaid & floral & stripes. Just make sure the color palette and proportion of prints is consistent.
You are worth it in terms of using the new pillows and doesn't the fact that you have to change them out and put the old ones behind the couch, make for greater inventory that you always speak against? Love your Channel! Oh and by the way your end tables look like stools from Ikea to me, but then again I am no Martha Stewart living...😁💗
Agreed! The space in itself is very minimal, so it’s a nice touch with all the different prints. In a cluttered space they’d look cluttered but in a minimal space like this they look very homely.
I love the pillows and the blanket. Your home looks so peaceful and low stress. I imagine there’s no anxiety or stress overwhelming you when you walk into your home. I’m not a fan of the side table; it seems a little squished in and takes away from the “cleanness” of the room, But that’s just my humble opinion 😊. I’m so thankful for you, I’ll never be able to express how thankful I am for all you’ve taught me. You are a blessing!
I love being a minimalist. I moved into a senior apartment this year. I love it so much. We can decorate outside our door that opens into the hallway. Since I do that I don’t feel the need to do it inside my apartment. Maybe for the Christmas season I will do both because I love Christmas decorations. And that’s ok. Since I got rid of the stuff I don’t want or use I have room for the stuff that I do like and will use. That makes me happy. Thank you
I love this, Angela! And I just noticed your last name! I don’t believe it’s a very common one, but I knew a wonderful professor in Chicago many years ago with that last name. His first name was Kyle. I don’t remember what his wife’s name was, maybe it’s you!?! Any relationship perhaps?
@@beccismith4454 Hi I don’t know a Kyle Snodgrass. My oldest Brother Mark Snodgrass had been a Catholic school principal in Chicago for about 11 years. He just retired.
@@angelasnodgrass6621 my mom moved into senior apartment about a year ago and they do the same thing with their hallways :). she too doesn't feel the need to decorate inside anymore. It's so fun to see everyone's little displays. Also in about 1983( ?) my fourth grade band teacher at a Catholic school was a Mr. Snodgrass!
@@becs2272 That’s funny about your teacher. My Brother Mark Snodgrass has been the principal of a Catholic school in Chicago about 11years. He just retired. In 1983 he was not there but it’s funny you know a teacher named Snodgrass from Chicago.
I have taught for over 30 years and I’m thrilled that you embrace and promote “process” and imaginative play. Your comments are spot on with not only what I’ve observed throughout my career, but also is very science based. Children who have to create, discover, and invent have greater neuroplasticity, literacy skills, fine and gross motor, perseverance, problem solving, and social skills than children who depend on manufactured or scripted play products. There are some great websites out there too for ideas such as run wild my child, and fairy dust teaching which give tons of options to promote process learning for all ages. So proud of you and all that you do to encourage others! Great blessings…
Love the pillows. I heard a designer say end tables should be couch height to prevent drinks from spilling. I think rectangular end tables would work better.
Dawn, I feel that what you have in your living room now is very grounding and nurturing. It looks lovely. Before ~ I always felt disoriented and out of sorts watching videos you did in your living room. But now I feel like I can take a deep breath of relief ~ and it seems very nurturing and soothing to me now. I really like this makeover! 🥰
I love the new pillows, particularly the plaid one with the embroidered leaves rectangular pillow. It is such a subtle nod to the autumn season without screaming orange and brown. It blends very well with what your base is. It is fun to refresh for the seasons, and this makes it simple. Thank you.
Dear Dawn, your sense of color and proportion is so soothing and beautiful, and was accomplished with such a reasonable investment. Your content is always fresh and I take so much joy in it. Happy holidays!
I invested in down/feather pillow inserts after watching a minimal mom video. 😁They’re washable and keep their shape when my husband squishes them behind his back and naps on them. 😆 I have white, grey, and yellow patterned covers for them. I spent 11.99 on some fall themed covers and I made fleece and flannel covers years ago for Christmas that fit on them. We’re really enjoying being able to change the pillows and switch out a couple throws for a new look. ❤
The pillows look great. LOVE the embroidered one. Dawn, your make-up/eyes/smile looked especially pretty today, particularly at the end when you were sitting on the leather couch. You always look lovely, but today your eyes were sparkling. Thank you for all your tips and sharing your lives with us.
We are bucket fillers in my 3rd grade classroom! We've read many of the books. :) Each student has an actual silver bucket we write compliments on small slips of paper to fill, and of course, we discuss the many other ways to fill others' buckets. We have an anchor chart as well as other fun activities connecting to bucket filling we refer back to throughout the year. Super fun and meaningful!
Pillows are awesome, nice redo. Please keep the pumpkin ☺️. Agree the round end tables don't go by blue couch, one by window of brown couch might be a trial period and see Enjoy your videos, your sharing, you're so transparent it draws people in, nice quality. Keep being you!
Love the colors of the new throw pillows. Personally, I would add a floor lamp behind the blue couch to warm the left corner. Round neutral shade with a darker candlestick-shape wooden stand. I would also put it on a timer so I would never need to mess with it - or have kids mess with it. Your videos are a blessing.
Love the pillows, I vote for no end tables! I was so happy when we got rid of ours the living room finally clicked and they always accumulated something even decluttering. I think your living room is perfect!
If you enjoy them, I encourage the round side tables. I like how they would complement the coffee table, as an alternative to be matching in shape! The pillows are so nice, and I appreciate how you enjoy them....they perhaps "make your heart happy!" That is something you can experience more perhaps, since you have simplified. thank you so much for your encouragement and witness. The intentionality seems also a form of simplification that your share...ie. throw pillows that you choose to focus on and enjoy!
If they bring you joy and they're not stressing you out, it's absolutely ok to get new throw pillows every once in a while! Love the update. Beautiful as always! 💜
I love the new pillows and blanket! You can be a minimalist and make small decorational changes from time to time. I don't think minimalism has to be boring.
I love those colors in that room. Since it’s open to the kitchen I just think it looks beautiful with the blues in the kitchen and the blues and greens not only look nice on the blue couch but they look beautiful on the leather couch as well. Great choices. I share your addiction with throw pillows. I do think they are beautiful and can make such a difference. Textiles in general I think can really cozy up a room.
Hi Dawn and Diana! Just want to say thank you both for your double inspirations! I started watching a few months ago and truly enjoy what I have learned. I'm older now and I've had several homes filled with more than enough, but decided to let go of the extras. Cleaning out bedroom closets, cupboards and drawers in every room led to a lot of boxes going out to the garage... which was filled up with leftover yard sales. A huge truck came yesterday and took it all. It was bittersweet, letting go of anything or anyone has never been easy for me, but more than continuing to accumulate material possessions, I want to spend more time with God, knowing him even more and not have to spend my days "managing inventory!" Diana, I've enjoyed your Bible lessons so much! I've been a Christian for over 65 years, a Sunday School Teacher and Women's Group Study Leader, my first husband was a Pastor, but found that I'm still desiring to know God even more. I received The Bible Recap today. So timely with my current events! God had this all planned! Thank you both for being a part of my journey. God bless!💗💗
Discovered your channel just a few weeks ago, and it is making such a difference in my life. Thank you for sharing your tips for simplifying, your faith and your positivity! ❤
Love the contrast of having a rectangle coffee table and round end tables but perhaps just have one end table? Cushions and throw look super cute and that pumpkin decor had me at hello ❤
I love the new look for the living room, the colors really work. Re: the bucket dippers, forget about them. Your kids all seem very happy and well adjusted. They don’t seem deprived in the least, in fact most experts point out that kids don’t REALLY want stuff, they just want you. Good job Mom and Dad!
Dawn, love that we all can still have "infatuations" ( throw pillows) but you still give boundaries on how to not get more than we can manage mentally, physically, or emotionally! ❤️
That is what I do in my house! I decorate mainly with seasonal fabrics: throws, pillow covers, tablecloths. Very easy to store and throw in the wash. And they make huge difference.
This is what I am about to suggest, too. We have 3 throw pillows and I have 2 sets of pillow covers. Planning to buy an additional set, but haven't found a design I like, yet.
I think she’s mentioned before how difficult it is to find just covers in the places she shops. From a retailers POV the pillow inserts are cheap and make the pillows look so much better on display so more people buy them. I agree that I’d much rather have just the covers to change out but these kinds of shops don’t offer them.
I like the round end tables. The wood adds additional warmth to the room/ offsets the coolness of the blues and greens. It is also a nice compliment to the round pumpkin on the round mat.
Dawn. I love cushions too and buy them often. It gives the room a completely new look. I have plenty of people to take my old ones or donate them.. The new look “brings me joy”
I’d love to give you permission to just put the pretty new pillows out and use and Enjoy them!! Life’s too short to spend time putting them behind the sofa and dragging them out for us!!! You all deserve the refresh - enjoy it!! The next season will be here before we know it, life season as well💙💚💛🧡
Thank you for introducing Allform! We were in the market for new sofas and thanks to your video we just had a 3 seater and loveseat delivered and it’s so nice to assemble couches out of boxes instead of having some giant sofa delivered and barely fitting it through the doorway. Allform is the perfect level of support and they look so sleek and modern. Glad we took a chance on going modular!
I'm so glad you have a pillow addiction, it means I can shop for them guilt free too!! 😂 I think the new ones look really pretty! Someone very wise once told me not to store my nice things for special occasions though 🤪 If they make you happy, let them make you happy every day! 😘
Good on you! Fewer presents for kids is the best gift that you can give them. Teaches appreciation, love for family, love for experiences versus material possessions.
Yes Dawn, it’s OK to get throw pillows. They look great. I was impressed how nice the green and floral and plaid all went together. You you have a good eye!❤️
Readly nice make-over. I’m so inspirerad by how you selected the pillows . I tend to pick monochrome and avoid patterns since I’m not sure about what matches. Love all your videos, Warm wishes from Sweden 🇸🇪
I love the pillows AND having a decoration on your coffee table! It’s so cozy. My blue accents are the same shade as yours. I’ve been wanting to add green and you gave me inspiration that it can look good!
We love our allform sectional! We have had it for almost a year. I had a throw upstairs that looks amazing on the sectional downstairs, so I was thrilled to re-purpose/shop my own home and found another throw for the 1st floor.
The new pillows look great! I also love the glass pumpkin - but agree that the white circle underneath it could go. This year I bought a pillow insert for the living room couch and have been changing the covers seasonally. It's amazing how much changing one pillow changes the look of the room. I found the 5 Days to Christmas sessions so helpful with lots of great ideas on gifts, handling difficult family members and making the most of the holidays with less stress. [On a side note, it makes me smile when you chuckle at yourself (schooling the kids in Tetris) 😁]
I *adore* that light up blue glass pumpkin. It’s gorgeous, I would use one in my own home. I like the variation in the roundness of the side tables vs the sharp corners of the coffee table. I think it keeps it from looking like you just went out and bought a set. It keeps the space looking authentic ♥️
So excited there is a faith based bucket filler book. We’ve used the other in public school to teach the Leader in Me program. I love Diana and your book and present recommendations. The DStore mug and microwaveable treat last year were budget friendly but yet seemed thoughtful. I used with kids’ teachers and coworkers last year. I love your game suggestions too! Thanks for always making me smile. I know you can’t feel like it all the time, but you are such an encouragement. Your videos are always something I look forward to. Thank you.
Please do a video on your extra storage areas. I know you have the cupboard upstairs and the basement but I often wonder what you keep in them. I'm finding I just dump stuff in my extra storage feeling relief I'm not living with the items anymore, but defining the extra space so they don't get overwhelming is really difficult for me. Also, I love you. You are so helpful and kind. A real inspiration and I have really needed you in my life. I usually only watch and not comment, but when you mentioned the bucket dippers I realised I never tell you how great you are. Thank you for being you. (I'm so British, that was really difficult to say. We struggle so much to compliment each other - taking or receiving 😂)
A) As a minimalist, i love changing my decor slightly using pillow and LOVE the ones you chose. B) As someone whose parents gave me most things i asked for growing up, and an insane amount of gifts at Christmas, i can say at 45 that it didn't help, in fact having everything developed an unhealthy mindset and i got into dept as an adult. As a youth worker and teacher i believe how we see you managing your children is so much healthier and value driven.
I like the new pillows! We are slowly getting on board with a more minimal lifestyle, it’s a slow journey for me as I’m a keeper. I’m not sure I could have gotten this far without you. Thank you, and keep inspiring people.
“How Full Is Your Bucket?” is a great resource as a parent, coach and manager. What fills and takes from each person’s bucket is different so understanding that is key. I used the adult version as a trainer and facilitator in the corporate setting for teams and managers. It’s similar to Stephen Covey’s Emotional Bank Account. Thanks for introducing your audience to it.
One of my favorite ways to freshen up a room is with new pillows and a new throw! The trick is to not let them build up!! Love the new look, keep up the good work!!
Good morning from London, England. I love the colour combination with the green texture and the flower pillows. Gorgeous. I agree about the end (side) tables needing to be square. The black metal seems quit cold against the other tones, so I'd definitely not go for metal again, possibly wooden legs- the same as the table top, more soothing for the eye, not taking in too many different textures and colours, so allowing one to focus more on the pillows. Also, from a balance perspective, I would put the end table on the right hand side when looking at the blue sofa. It is quite squashed against the curtain. Love you guys, Cheryl. (Interior Designer) PS If your family would ever want to visit London, please know that you always have a free home to stay in here.
I love the round end tables, Dawn in fact I thought you need a round coffee table too 😊 only because the room is square and the couches are square, and the pillows are square! So introducing another shape is just nice ❤
I love this, Audrey! I like round, too, it’s kind of fun :-) But I must say I’m not terribly bothered by around here and square there, or different styles… I guess my home is pretty eclectic, just different pieces that I like or that work for me at the time.
Lol My husband and I were just talking about throw pillows!!! He was concerned I had too many for our bedroom, some for the bed and two sets of 2 pillows for a small loveseat like couch/chair to rotate. When I had set them up on the bed, he really liked how the bed looked and remembered he just needs to trust me more and that it’ll look good. Life is short! Enjoy your throw pillows and add a pop of color and coziness! You aren’t spending tons on them and they don’t last forever. They need a refresh just like all of us do at times. 💖 I love the new setup and totally get the kids and pillows. I haven’t done pillows since my boys are all about throwing them around and not keeping them nice. And the fact my golden retriever loves when they are knocked to the ground for her to lay on. I love your thoughts on the end tables, I have to agree rectangular ones would flow better. I also love the books you’ve shared. We have the first bucket book, but I’ll have to look for the others. And I’m sorry you have others being unkind. It isn’t worth trying to convince them of why you guys have chosen something. Why do they care anyways?! They can choose something different for their families or selves. You guys do what your family needs, but I’m grateful for all that you share and have learned a lot. I think many of us appreciate how open you’ve been with your journey and the valuable information you’ve shared with the rest of us. Thank you!!!! ❤️
No one needs to explain how and why they raise their children the way they do. Your children seem to be very happy caring individuals. Keep doing you. 😊
Your children are so lucky to have such great parents. They don’t need “stuff”, and in my experience will grow up to appreciate everything they have in life. They will remember the holidays, the good times and the love they grew up with. You’re doing a wonderful job xxx
Well thanks for your transparency showing this video. most watching this have a tendency to hoard. You give me hope that I can change, but also make me realize that we are never done guarding our hearts! No to the end tables too crowded and not needed. 💐
I love the pillows, I agree with moving toward pillow covers for easier forage and frequent change outs. I also agree with using your pillows everyday for all to enjoy. I love the throw also. Someone suggested as of table (built by Tom 😊) then there would be. Surface for pretties, a coffee cup while siding in the sofa. It is hard to completely know the space based on photos but to me it looks like the rug and the blue sofa need centered in the room, shifting right when looking directly at the blue sofa. I love your channels, make overs, your family. So entertaining.
I love the peaceful feel of your living room amd decor. So calming and restful. I love the spaciousness. It’s not the shape, it’s the scale of the end table in the space and to the couch. A slightly wider circumference will do the trick.
I like the mix of rectangular with round tables. The round end tables soften the hard, square angles in the room. I love the look with the new pillows, too. Such a simple way to give a space a new look❤
Love the ‘bucket’ book segment. I’m doing less this year. It may be only 2 gifts per child and one family gift. Thank you Dawn. Love your work and heart. Thank you for inspiring me
Love the new pillows! It’s amazing how a little change makes a space feel new. I really do like your Christmas gift limits. In the past few years as I decluttered I realized that in our quest to make what we thought was a “great Christmas” we missed the mark. I can’t tell you how many new items or hardly used items we decluttered. We now give each of our four kids (ages 12 through 22) the choice of cash/gift card, an experience or a better quality item than we would normally buy. I was surprised when our oldest quickly chose cash towards a trip to the Passion conference, our 19yo picked items for her college apartment, our twelve year old wanted an old navy gift card and our son wanted a fancier pair of sneakers than we would normally buy.
Beautiful! I JUST got a new sectional. (Long story but we had to upsize). I was anti sectional for a long time and preferred two sofas or a sofa and chairs. Our new home has a weird living room layout. The sectional works best for optimal seating. So the home reserve is similar to your suggestion. It is also made in USA and very easy to clean. We did order swatches to test them out and poured mustard applesauce and other food all over them. They clean up very nicely and we also got a trial chair. Anyways it worked out well for us and we’re actually building it today! The reason why I chose the home reserve is because instead of having the beautiful mid century legs which I adore, the couch goes all the way to the floor preventing my animals from crawling underneath the couch and has a storage space for things like board games and throw pillows. It can be customized piece by piece taken apart and reconfigured at any time. And the covers are completely machine washable. I like the Decour that you chose. We also have a glass pumpkin and had the same rug as you for a long time but move that to our guestroom now we have the rug that I believe you put in your office video. I guess you and I have the same taste in rugs.😊
Love the new pillows! I recently updated my nearly 20 year old sofa with a beautiful dark teal velvet slipcover from Amazon (Canada), and went to Marshalls/Homesense looking for pillows to finish the look. Ended up spending $30 Canadian each for two gorgeous teal, white and beige pillows with some textured stitched leaves and branches in teal and gold. They are gorgeous, and they had two more identical pillows for five dollars more, probably newer stock. So $20 US isn’t bad! Also love the pumpkin! It’s a lovely focal point for your coffee table. It reminds me a bit of the tiger eye glass pumpkin burner I just got on sale from an online Scentsy party. It’s nice to have the colourful glow during the long autumn evening.
Dawn- I wish you knew how you’ve helped me. This has been an amazing process and such a blessing. I’m not done yet but I’ve been seeing the benefits. I didn’t always think this would help but the Lord brought me to this and it’s a key to so many new peaceful processes in our lives. Thank you!
Thank you for your great content. Love the look, especially on the leather sofa. Also I wanted to tell you that watching one of your videos, where you talked about the hierarchy of needs, inspired me to join the “PTA” of my kids’ Pfadi (Swiss Boy/Girl Scouts). The guest volunteer opportunity was today, helping with a construction project, and I sent my husband and his cordless drill. The leaders are all teenagers so he has a lot of experience with which he was able to help, and had fun doing it. Part of the reason Pfadi is a great activity that costs practically nothing is all the volunteer worth the leaders put in, so it was really nice to be able to help out with that, and the leaders were super appreciative when I said I wanted to join and with my husband today. I haven’t volunteered for things lately because we’re so busy with 4 kids and I was afraid this would be one more thing but the fact that the first activity went so well is a good omen. Glad we’re giving back
We ladies are entitled to have too many pillows! ❤️ I really like the IKEA cussion system, meaning I can buy just a few pillows along with many covers of different colours and patterns. I just change the covers when I want something new 😊 xx
I think you are setting a good example by simplifying Christmas and trying to place the emphasis on having fun as a family rather then trying to consume as much as possible. Now that I am old I like to treat my home as functional but artistic. I like to have a place for everything but also enjoy special things that we love. It’s a constant struggle to keep out clutter but worth it when you can tidy up really quick.
I love the throw pillows and the blanket! As far as the end tables - I was thinking maybe try a C-shaped end table (from Amazon) that has a metal frame and a wood top - It just slide up nest the couch arm rest and has a small footprint. Good job!
I love the way your sweater and earrings look on you!! Your hair is great, too. I know this isn't the purpose of the video, but your look here is an inspiration!
Love your blue pumpkin on the table. The blue is not the usual. Also, you look very nice at the end of this post. I totally understand about trying to explain your minimalism lifestyle and someone asking you when it feels more being judged. We were homeschoolers, and so often got that. It wasn't popular in our area almost 25 years ago when we started. You know what you and Tom are doing is the best for your family. That's all the matters. ❤
I LOVE your home! And it has helped me so much in how I’ve changed my decorating and a new view on it. I love the pillows! I also love pillows :) and I love the pumpkin!
The pillows definitely work so well! But can I say that you look fantastic in that pink-neutral sweater, it's truly a wonderful style and color for you.
Also, I’m not the one to ask about home decor - I think that your new arrangement looks beautiful! Of course it’s ok to get new throw pillows, they make your heart happy every time you see them!
"...And, throw pillows!" "OH, THANKS! I almost forgot I need new throw pillows!" I love the new pillows! I usually only get the covers, and I feel so fortunate not to have to buy the pillows. But, it would be cool to have different sizes and shapes!
I love the new pillows and throw! A few years ago I purchased really nice down pillow forms and swap out with pillow covers that I find on Amazon. I don’t think you need end tables. It looks more spacious and less cluttered without them.
A decorator I follow recommends buying pillow covers a size smaller than the insert to up the fluff, for example 18 inch square covers for a 20 inch pillow. It takes a little effort to stuff, but it works!
Look: if you were inundated with clutter, you wouldn’t have the bandwidth to enjoy your cake stands and pillows, right? I have some ideas where I’m maximal (books), and others where I’m minimal (makeup and products). What I love about finding our own personal “enough” is how we can make it our very own.
Your living room looks gorgeous. I love the blues and greens. I too think what's throwing off the lighted pumpkin on the coffee table is the placemat thingy under it. Otherwise I think it looks so pretty there. And I really, really love the Bucket dipping concept as a way to explain some people. My children are 23 and 25 but we always said givers and takers but this definitely is terrific language and I will be telling both of my adult children this story. I wouldn't mind having those books just because...and maybe I'll be a grandma some day and can share the books with them. Thanks so much for always having such awesome stories to share and of course for your willingness to share them. Have an amazing weekend!
I like the new throw pillows, they look very nice & happy! Imo the end table would make a great plant stand maybe in a corner somewhere in your home. 🌱

I just wanted to thank you for helping me declutter my home. I now say things like, “no I don’t need that beautiful basket because it just wants to hold things.” My home feels so much less stressful and I am having such an easier time cleaning it. You really are such a joy to spend time with and I love Diana as well. ❤God bless you all ❤

Have Tom build a behind the sofa table. Where it spans the back of your couch but it super thin. Then you’d still have an open concept and spacious feel without the bulk of side tables.
Good idea
Agreed!!!
I thought the same thing
And everyone knows Tom will do an excellent job too!
If it had a shelf on the bottom, it would be a great place to stash extra pillows reserved for when guests come over.
The new pillow combination looks great. Consider allowing yourself and your family to enjoy them every day as the special occupants of your home.
I’ll let them sit on them and squish them in a couple of months, I usually protect them initially and give up 😂
100% agree…”use the good china…and pillows!” And yes, designers say you can mix plaid & floral & stripes. Just make sure the color palette and proportion of prints is consistent.
@@TheMinimalMom ha ha, i used to do that with my 5 kids!!
All the thrown pillows in the other vid where Tom throws them at you, I feel you just gave him more ammunition 😁🤹♀️❤🌷
Yes to the plaid and floral pillows in the same room! You nailed this makeover. ❤️
Agreed! The space in itself is very minimal, so it’s a nice touch with all the different prints. In a cluttered space they’d look cluttered but in a minimal space like this they look very homely.
Beautiful! I love how you talk about us as friends who come for company. We love you having us!
Yes. Agree.
Thank you.
That pillow is my favorite, too.
Dear Dawn, your sense of color and proportion is so soothing and beautiful, and was accomplished with such a reasonable investment. Your content is always fresh and I take so much joy in it. Happy holidays!
funny when I saw the pillows in the store I was like no that won't go together it's to much, but on the couches I love it !! so warm and cozy
That’s awesome
The pillows look great. LOVE the embroidered one. Dawn, your make-up/eyes/smile looked especially pretty today, particularly at the end when you were sitting on the leather couch. You always look lovely, but today your eyes were sparkling. Thank you for all your tips and sharing your lives with us.
We are bucket fillers in my 3rd grade classroom! We've read many of the books. :)
Each student has an actual silver bucket we write compliments on small slips of paper to fill, and of course, we discuss the many other ways to fill others' buckets. We have an anchor chart as well as other fun activities connecting to bucket filling we refer back to throughout the year. Super fun and meaningful!
Pillows are awesome, nice redo.
Please keep the pumpkin ☺️.
Agree the round end tables don't go by blue couch, one by window of brown couch might be a trial period and see
Enjoy your videos, your sharing, you're so transparent it draws people in, nice quality.
Keep being you!
That’s awesome. Great job!
Love the buckets in the classroom. Could be used in families, too. Much better than CRT training.
Yes, no end tables. Not so minimalist with the end tables there. Too busy for me. Lovely and enough without.
Same we got rid of the end tables! Although I want a small behind the couch table just to hold drinks
@@kamiifae that’s what we did. Small sofa table behind sofa with one lamp, some family pictures and coasters for drinks.
@@kamiifae I almost did that when our couch was up against the wall but we ended up moving it and now I use the window sill 🤣
Agree! Our tables just accumulate more stuff!
Love the colors chosen of the throw pillows. We don't do a gift exchange, we just spend time together as a family.
My adult son and I do the
same
So wish I could talk my extended fam into this…been trying to for years lol
Totally agree with liking a rectangular end table vs the round. And I think gold would be beautiful! ❤
That sweater you are wearing is stunning and looks so comfortable!! Love the earings too!
If they bring you joy and they're not stressing you out, it's absolutely ok to get new throw pillows every once in a while! Love the update. Beautiful as always! 💜
simple changes can make a BIG difference! The living room looks very cozy. :)
I second all of this!!
Pillow covers! Then you can easily store and rotate seasonally so you’re never bored with minimal storage. 🤩
Yeah, Dawn...Maybe get your daughters interested in sewing pillow covers. 😉
I bought a few sets of pillow covers from Amazon and swap them out seasonally. So easy to store!
You know, I would consider buying pillows your hobby 😃
I’d love to give you permission to just put the pretty new pillows out and use and Enjoy them!! Life’s too short to spend time putting them behind the sofa and dragging them out for us!!! You all deserve the refresh - enjoy it!! The next season will be here before we know it, life season as well💙💚💛🧡
Your room looks so lovely with the new pillows and throw ❤ What a sweet and happy family you are!
Hahahah...so I "protect" the pillows for 4-6 months and then after that I give up and let everyone use them! Lol!
I wish stores sold more pillow covers. They take much less space and are easy to switch out! Love how your room turned out!
It’s lovely Dawn! Yes we all need a refresh, nothing wrong with that at all!
I have to say that the pillows are lovely. I am a pillow person also, they just make the sofa warm and inviting.
I appreciated seeing this too.
One of my favorite ways to freshen up a room is with new pillows and a new throw! The trick is to not let them build up!! Love the new look, keep up the good work!!
If throw pillows make you happy and decorate your home, of course it is okay ! They look lovely.
I like round, too, it’s kind of fun :-)
But I must say I’m not terribly bothered by around here and square there, or different styles… I guess my home is pretty eclectic, just different pieces that I like or that work for me at the time.
@@beccismith4454 It sounds like you have a pretty place and you enjoy it 😀
Round or oval ❤
Amen! Dawn, you and Tom are doing a great job!
I love the pillow combination , the colors are really nice and they match your furniture perfectly!
I love, love, love the new throw pillows!!! Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you for inspiring me
Love the colors and vibe of new pillows! So fun! We need that every once in a while. A refresh of color!❤
I love the new pillows!! Totally changes the look of the room ❤
I love the pumpkin. I also love how the plaid on the pillow is mirrored in the plaid on the blanket. Your room looks lovely.
I love the new pillows, especially the leaves one!
I always love your videos. I loved the pic of Gage. He’s growing so much. Love and blessings from Texas.
I love your sweater and earrings Dawn! they look great on you! 🙂
My thought exactly. Dawn always looks cute, but in that sweater and earrings, she looked stunning!
Dawn- I wish you knew how you’ve helped me. This has been an amazing process and such a blessing. I’m not done yet but I’ve been seeing the benefits. I didn’t always think this would help but the Lord brought me to this and it’s a key to so many new peaceful processes in our lives. Thank you!
Thanks Dawn! My daughter said YES to the bucket books. I can hear my granddaughter (5) now say, "Grandma, don't be a bucket dipper"! 😆
Did you buy the inserts and covers there?
@@jennlorence yes both x
I LOVE your home and how calm it is!! Also, all the colors you have used😃
Love your blue pumpkin on the table.
I really like your sweater. Looks great on you. May I ask where you got it? Marshall's maybe??? 🥰
Thank you! It's from Amazon, you can find a link in the video description -- incredibly comfortable!!!
Love the refresh! Yes, I change out pillows & throws seasonally. I get a little bored & enjoy changing them out.
I don't like the end tables but I love the pillows!
Great video, thank you for starting the day with me. I find the more I declutter, the more I like my house, the more I like to decorate it.
Re: side tables - if it's not a hard YES, it's a no, right?
I love the embroidery on that one pillow and the plaid ones!! They go so well together!!! Beautiful!!
I love pillows on the couch, but then there's my family (always moving them off).
Same here! My family hates them
My family always want to use them, smash them, get them dirty. I guess that’s a good excuse to buy new ones. 😂
Where do you find covers... I feel I almost always only see stuffed pillows, but I like reusing pillows I already have.
@@marlabradberry4653 Amazon has lots of covers.
I love the new pillows and throw! A few years ago I purchased really nice down pillow forms and swap out with pillow covers that I find on Amazon. I don’t think you need end tables. It looks more spacious and less cluttered without them.
Totally LOVE the blue light up pumpkin. I definitely would have purchased this.
Yes! Well said Rebecca
