SUPER DISAPOINTED IN FORD NOW!! Last thing on file is now “this is a normal characteristic of the vehicle.” Thanx FORD Canada!!
I have a 2022 Escape, have had it for 23 months, less than 8700 miles. I’ve taken it twice to the dealer. I was told that it’s a known problem with Escapes and Broncos but as of now there is no recall. And that I’m covered under warranty and can keep bringing it in as often as I need to. But that’s a hassle for me. I was considering buying out the lease next year but if they don’t fix this issue, I’m going to reconsider. This is my 4th Escape and I didn’t have issues with any of my previous models (2014, 2017, 2019).
Beware buying out a lease with Ford. They take forever to update the title. I did a lease buyout on my Bronco on March 22nd, ford didn't send the title to the DMV until 4/19, and here we are 5/28 and still waiting for DMV to process to show my vehicle is no longer a lease. You have to process through DMV to make your vehicle eligible as a trade in at other dealerships or Carmax. Ford makes this release of lease process harder than most other makes. Just food for thought if you were planning on buying out the lease to use as a trade in, there will be a delay. Unless you have good equity in your car, just ride out your lease and turn it in. It's a bummer ford doesnt allow you to trade in your lease like other car companies. Unless it's back to ford.
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore yup! They knew what they were doing by dragging their feet. Heaven forbid they either fix the brakes problem or make letting this whale of a vehicle go easily. It was the main driver to switch vehicles for me, that noise was unbearable.

Hey, great video this is the same problem we’re having. I’m also replacing the rear brake pads at the same time. Can you please tell me the procedure for maintenance mode and retracting the piston? Thank you very much!
This is from ShopKey. But I would use a scan tool to do it. 1. Set the ignition on engine off 2.Relaese the EPB 3.Press and hold the accelerator pedal and place EPB switch to the release (downward) position. Continue to hold accelerator pedal and EPB switch. 4. Set the ignition to off then set the ignition to on within 5 seconds. Continue to hold the accelerator pedal and the EPB switch. 5.Set the ignition to off then release the accelerator pedal and the EPB switch. To put back into regular mode. 1. Set ignition to on engine off 2.Release the EPB. 3.Press and hole the accelerator pedal and place the EPB switch to the release (downward) position. Continue to hold the accelerator pedal and the EPB switch. 4. Set the ignition to off then set the ignition to on within 5 seconds.
