Congrats to Scott K & the Entire Scout team for bringing the wonderful heritage of this brand back to life in 21st century design, technology and setting the bar even higher! 🎉🙌🏽💛👏🏽
Great job Scout team! Own 5 scouts and after seeing in person at the reveal in Franklin TN couldn’t resist and put down a deposit on both Traveler and Terra! Went with the Harvester range extender on both!
As someone who proudly owned an original Scout II back in the day, this new ad from Scout Motors strikes a chord with me in ways I didn’t expect. The Scout was more than just a truck-it was a part of my life, my adventures, and my identity. Hearing them talk about bringing back the Scout brand with such care and respect for its heritage feels like reconnecting with an old friend. What stands out to me is their focus on the proportions and simplicity that made the original Scout unique. When I look at my old Scout II, it’s that powerful stance and clean design that still draw me in. This new version doesn’t try to be a cheap knockoff of the past; it builds on it, bringing forward the spirit of the original while adapting it for today’s world. That’s the kind of evolution that makes sense to me. The details they’ve put into the design are thoughtful. The offset logo on the grill? That’s clever-it feels personal, like signing your name on something you’re proud of. And I appreciate their restraint. They didn’t clutter it up with unnecessary features, and that’s what makes it feel so true to what the Scout was always about: ruggedness, simplicity, and capability. What really hits home for me, though, is the idea of the Scout as a "neighborly companion." Back when I drove my Scout II, it wasn’t just a truck-it was a tool, a partner in adventure, and sometimes even a conversation starter with strangers who admired it. Hearing them talk about building a community around the new Scout reminds me of the camaraderie we Scout owners had back then. It feels like they’re tapping into something bigger than just a vehicle-they’re rekindling a lifestyle. This ad brings a smile to my face because it shows they’re not just bringing back a name; they’re bringing back everything the Scout stood for. I might just have to make some room in the garage for the next chapter in the Scout story... I know my dad would love to go for one last drive in a new Scout again.
Agree. I bought my '79 Scout II in late 1978 (we had the Blizzard of '78 earlier that year and I wanted 4WD ever since). It turned heads and brought great memories. You couldn't ask for a company to do better than what they're doing.
You guys NAILED it. Great job! So many vehicle designs these days are full of tortured surfaces and conflicting lines (yes, I’m talking about YOU, C8 Corvette). The simplicity of these new Scouts is so powerful. I would love to buy one when they’re finally available…but I just know that first scratch I get on it from a cactus out in the desert is going to be a highly traumatic experience for me…
This is the first and only EV I’ve been interested in. Please keep it simple and spare us the gimmick options we don’t need! The buyer will appreciate it! Keep going!
What a beautiful design. I’m very picky when it comes to cars / SUV’s and I really like the proportion of this suv, it has such a nice stance. I like the wide stance i really hope they don’t change the design. I’d buy this no question about it.
The design is stunning remake while staying true to the classic scout heritage. The only thing I point out is that the Dual hybrid system deserves a diesel generator to keep the rugged utility of the truck, great fuel economy, and simple and robust repairability.
@@Chris-bg8mkever owned or driven an EV made by Volkswagen? The only issue ive ever known to be brand-wide on a Volkswagen were their combustion engines. With that out of the question what's the problem?
@Scout Motors, considering the VW connection, will it be available in Europe? At the moment only US and Canadian reservations are available. thanks for the feedback
Awesome design, clearly the best looking SUV with fantastic geometry and presence … if we could have it in couple of years time we would put deposit down on it now but we are in Australia … please bring this Scout to International markets like us „down under” and our family would be first to get it!
This ad should be a lesson on how to reintroduce a (new) vehicle concept. "Familiarity and surprise" (at the same time). So, Jaguar, add Scout to your list of entities to blame for your failure.
I think they did a very good job. My dad had a ‘73 Travelall back in the day and this certainly evokes that. Long term it would be nice to see a shorter two-door and a long wheelbase Travelall version but these vehicles are a good start. It might be nice to make the rear mounted tire an option on Travelers with the smaller standard tire but that’s about all I would change.
Keep talking about the brand and it being back. I’m almost 40 and I’d never heard of Scout till some friends went there for work. Also, a bench seat? Take any corner at any speed and you’ll realize why nobody else does that anymore; unless you want to install 5 point harnesses to keep drivers and passengers in their seats.
I am in my 70’s and grew up with these types of “off road” vehicle when they were in what I call their purist form. I was torn back in the 70’s between Scout, Land Cruiser, Bronco, Blazers. All easily recognizable and unique unto their own. Straight axles, transmissions built like tanks, real manual transfer cases, manual locking hubs, etc, etc., all serviceable straightforward mechanics. Tried and proven. In the early 70’s I chose FJ40 Land Cruiser, runner up was the Scout. The Land Cruiser of today just reinvented doesn’t even come close to the Land Cruiser heritage. I first saw the new Scout version a few months back and honestly gave me goosebumps, as it is the only current day reiteration of an iconic vehicle from years ago that really embodies and replicates the original Scout in its distinctive look and shape. Love the Scout logo on the front end offset. Unfortunately probably only the older generation like myself will truly appreciate what you have done. I am not a fan of all electric as we just don’t have the infrastructure to support that yet and probably won’t in my lifetime but, someday it may become more mainstream. Make the hybrid version of this and I think it will do well. Also don’t make it so expensive that it is out of reach for the working class that want a unique do it all vehicle. You have a winner in my book. Depending on price and when it finally comes out and where it can be serviced, I just might give up my 5th Gen 4Runner which I thought I’d never do.
I love the Traveller, Especially Porsche PDLS Headlight 4point resemblance. Can't wait to take a photo of Traveller and Cayenne. Very Offroady, A Proper Offroad, not overland. Great for Outdoor community
Thank you so much for making a front bench seat. Its so annoying how rare they are. They should have came back when automatic transmissions became ubiquitous. I am a married man. If I spend 100k on a vehicle there should not be a barrier between me and my wife.
We’ve learned a lot about pedestrian safety since the original Scout. How does the front blind spot compare, since the hood looks higher and the driver is so far back. Can you see your children playing when you pull into your driveway? Vehicle also looks bigger - is it heavier? Are features to improve pedestrian survivability part of the design or were those stripped away to make it feel powerful?
I thought about it as well, and owning a Tesla, even with a range as good as my model, the drain on your battery at towing. I got the range extender not because I need to go that long, but because I want to tow a small trailer and having that extra miles eliminates stopping to charge. Every driver will need a bathroom break, but I want to go at least 200 miles before I have to charge. Without that range extender , you will be charging more frequently when towing. If your not towing then no need
@@EmmanuelTanuyan-n6v I used to do more towing for a few hours a couple times a month but haven’t the last few years. For that, I like the simplicity of the pure EV. One of the things I’m worried about with the range extender is old gas causing issues in it if I just operate on EV for an extended period of time.
Would you be possibly bringing it to the Middle East specifically the GCC?, There’s huge potential considering the options here a limited and with growing passion for Foreign cars besides Land Cruisers and Nissan Patrols (also with Nissan potentials stopping production) I feel there is an opportunity for this truck to grow as itself rather than continuation of a legacy vehicle.
I get that these resemble the original but Rivian essentially already modernized this exact design. So now these look like rivian adjacent. Maybe it’s just bad timing. But it’s true
@ other than the VW investment I haven’t seen any claims that it was intentional. And this video is claiming it’s all scout DNA. While I agree your suggestion makes sense unless they come out and say it just looks like poor PR to me.
Love that the brand is being revived! But, the models look too similar to the Rivian, R1, T and the R1 S. The rear window graphic is really the only thing that distinguishes this car as a scout. In my opinion, the rear does not extend far enough for it to be obviously identified as a scout
Scout: “Hey can I borrow your homework?”
Bronco & Rivian: “sure”
These are beautiful designs that communicate quality, durability, and capability. No gimmicks, just substance!!!
The team did such an incredible job with this. A wonderful reminder that the purest designs are the best designs.
It’s an exact copy of rivian
