Thanks Hainbach for the video! ❤ Anyone who is interested, let me quickly highlight how this synth is unique or interesting IMO: - the LFOs, apart from the usual shapes, come with complex custom shapes (the "+" symbol above the waveform button) - in the dual VCOs there is a wavemix feature where you can set the balance of levels between pulse and triangle / saw (/which you can also mix freely!) - you can program a lot of generative behavior into the sequencer with gate, velocity and note chance / probability for more unpredictability - there's dual timbre addressing in the sequencer so it can play both timbres at once or only chosen notes for timbre A and B (which makes it more fun!) - in the mod matrix you can use functions to change the well-known shapes of sine, square LFOs into uniquely new ones, or create custom curves for envelopes / aftertouch response, etc. - the mixer allows for a clean mix of all analog sources but you can also use the overload slider to overdrive the signal like the classic Moog CP-3 mixer does - the delay works like vintage digital rack units in that it's highly configurable and can provide stereo delays with ping pong behavior, filtered multi-tap tape echo-style delays, or reverb + dreamy chorused-diffusion trails. Generally it's a sonic playground for time-based effects. Thank you Moog!!!
I like the air vents on the back of the machine, like on the Polybrute 12. Air vents are like louvres on the bonet of my (vintage) car, they mean powaaaaa 😁
This would be a workhorse I would seriously consider getting if I had the money for it. Lovely sounds, and I know it has an intriguingly capable sequencer/arpeggiator. Thanks for showing off your sounds with it! Quite a versatile instrument!
I was looking for a video that would allow me to appreciate the real sonic potential of this jewel. My search ended here, with your video. Thank you so much.
Cool sounds! I love how you got totally different timbres out of the synth than I heard in the other demos of this synth. I think it's a very cool new synth from Moog!
The fact that you called this demo and patch from scratch, shows that you think like me, this was luscious! Your partner inspires me, I’ll have to follow her up, she makes the sounds I love. Also I now have to see if you did a prophet 5 cos I been meaning to look into them, I once played an original and it might have been my best synth experience ever.
Or was it ‘an elpee’s worth of tunes’? Either way what a great song! I love the way that it is preceded by the vocal- ‘no, no,no, a little more humanity please!’ on the original album. ❤️
Weirdly I'm pretty much plugged into synthtube, but your video is the only one I've seen so far. I have been watching other things though that seem to have taken over my feed.
I think for the actual price, this polyphonic Moog is really very nice. Maybe the best for that money at the moment. If there are not all of the circumstances now and maybe in the future (danger of close war...), I surely would spend the money and buy the Muse. On the other hand I read, there are some problems - so it need an update to be more perfect. I hoped it has 16 voices, but maybe they decided to have a better sound and more capabilities instead of more voices. THX a lot ;)
It looks much more interesting to me than the current Oberheim and Sequential synths. I like that you could get such complex stuff going very quickly without too much menu diving stuff in the way. It seems like a lot of money for 8 voices - but when it can be this deep maybe the price is justified. I may have to sell internal organs after all.
was skeptical given the current ownership and labor issues, but this seems incredible. sure does suck about the workers and the closing of the Asheville storefront, though.
At the beginning of the video, I was a little sceptical as to whether Mr. Hainbach and this rather classical instrument could harmonize. But what can I say. My skepticism was unfounded.
Sexy looking synth for a Moog. The form factor reminds me of my vintage Roland Jupiter 6. Except the Muse's cheeks are wooden. Eight note polyphony seems kinda chintzy for a bi-tambrel synth, but then again, Moogs have always produced expensive polysynths. Would like to see a sixteen note polyphony option.
I am debating - right now I am using them for writing music for other artists, so keeping them personal makes more sense to me. But I want to spend more time making more patches, making use of all the playable functions - most don’t have the mod wheel assigned yet. Then I might do a set.
Nice synth! The wobbly keyboard stand would drive me crazy. It even did, just watching the video 😰 Unfortunately, the absence of any effects other than delay in such a machine doesn't feel much like 2024.
@@Hainbach Yes, I got that impression from the videos as well. I just secretly was hoping that I could do away with external effects, since I for some reasine like dawless setups. But not a real problem. I'm really thinking about the Muse.
Seeing this wonderful bit of kit wobble around with the lightest of touch as if it's going to hit the floor at any minute was painful to watch. Great sounds though.
Check the „Son Of Moog“ patch, that is very much the sound of the overdrive. It’s heavy, but the vintage 1970s Model D I played on my album with Ah Kosmos pushed a bit more.
Had heard rumours of a new moog but assumed they were just rumours & it would take years. Then up this pops 🤯 And surprise surprise it sounds massive!!!
@@bolttracks 🤔 yeh thatll do it. & Its still out of my budget 🤣 Tbh im happy with my subsequent 37 & prophet 12 combo. Got a lifetime of exploration with those two. How about you? Are you considering a moog?
I mean it just sounds like a synth… I might get one eventually… but I am happy with my Rev 2 and prophet 10. I also enjoy my subsequent 37 + matriarch. No need to impulse buy this thing
I wonder if they will use this Moog to do the score for the next season of Stranger Things… because you’re making me want to go back and binge all the seasons again! What a sweet sound!
That sounds like a combination that will work for you always. A mono and a poly is better than one poly, even if multi-timbral. So I would argue no. But I am writing songs now with it and I am surprised how easily it switches roles - texture, harmony, experimental, bass - it can do all. It makes me think what synths I actually need.
No, no and no. The Matriarch is a very special sounding unit with so much potential for sound design. And it sounds so original 70th. I love my Matriarch and soon my Muse will arrive. Both will accomplish another in perfect harmony. Beside: the analog BBD of the Matriarch alone is worth to keep the unit.

A thousand Moog Muse videos today indeed but the first one I’ll watch is this
I loved hearing the cymbal crash when you threw the box. 😀
Yeah that was not planned, but a happy sound indeed! :-)

Holy crap, dude. These patches are on an entirely other level. These are sonic landscapes, every single one is so visual and dynamic.
Thank you! I love making patches that are entire songs by themselves. The most fun I had with that was on the DX7
How can a patch be visual? What do you smoke? 😁

Hey nice to see you here!
Two of my fave sound designers in this thread.... Looking forward to the Jexus soundset!
IT HE!!!!!
Make some patches for it 🤙
These are some of my favorite features, well summarized!!
I loved watching you work on that patch. Great job as always.
Loving the range of this thing; a really vivid vintage character with enough flexibility for complex modern craziness the kids all love! 😊
Cymbal is the perfect sound for throwing a box out of frame. That's how you know you're in a studio. 😆
Awesomely perplexing sounds as always Herr Hainbach! Always good to have you back 😊
Lovely sounds as expected
Man, I can't watch that wobbly stand 🫣
Same here, how weird!
Wobbly Stand.
Oh man the filter overdrive and ringmod/xmod sound pretty brutal. Love the sounds you put together!

Utterly Amazing! The Muze goes straight to the top of the list of synths that I want, but will never be able to afford!
Congrats on 200k!
I didn’t notice that. H’bach well deserves the 200k subs, and lots more.
oooo, the piece at the 5 minute mark is gorgeous
Finally a demo that doesn't just use the same tedious presets.
Gorgeous sound, and the UI looks easy enough to navigate. Owning one would be the dream. Thank you for the video!
Yeeeeesss, it sounds more in line with the Matriarch which I prefer over the Moog One. The One always sounded too clean to me.
The Matriarch's oscillators are so raw and beautiful!
Cool sounds! I love how you got totally different timbres out of the synth than I heard in the other demos of this synth. I think it's a very cool new synth from Moog!
I hope they let you keep it!

Beautiful synth, sound and demo
That "Last Arc" patch was incredible!
Lovely stuff and straight to the point!
Haha, the I was laughing loud when I saw the thumbnail of this Video. What a ship of a synth! No place for Hainbach in this Picture 😂

Awesome ..Great Demo!! .. Liking the Sounds coming out of this machine!!
Omg that thing is a beast 🔥
Wow 😲 this certainly runs circles around the Jupiter 8
This is add n to x in a box, beastly chaotic synthesis meets beauty… this is the synth I’ve been waiting 25 years for… time to sell my jupiter 8
Thats one big ass synth
