I was a mono guy as well, but I found 1500 yds of reaction tackle braided line last year for about $40. Been using it ever since. I find it's cheaper in the long run. If I broke mono I often had to respool the whole spool, otherwise, I would end up with a big knot in the line. With this stuff I just tie whatever Reaction braid I need to the fill spool and knot is hardly noticeable.
My house is built out of reaction braid it withstood a class 5 hurricane, a f4 tornado and 3 tsunamis all in the same week. 😁

I also run reaction braid catch 20lb+ catfish once in a while and has always held up every time I always recommend!

I use the same line got it off Amazon also it is great cast further than mono and last longer I have had no issues

Try the FG knot for connecting the mono top shot to the braid. There's several you tube videos on how to tie it.
The best knot but time consuming in the field especially at night. The likelihood of me breaking off a couple times a night is pretty good. If I were at the beach or in a area where I know I won't snag then that is a great option to have already tied when you get to the spot
As a Bass fisherman who uses Braid 99.9% of the time im here to say that Power Pro is a far superior braid.Ive got a 1000 yard spool of the Reaction Tackle 8 strand sitting next to me and its worth its price,thats about it. Ive got reels with Power Pro and Power Pro V2 Slick from 2 years ago. Ive respooled the Reaction twice this year already from frays.
I found Jomaster Superpower Braided line on Amazon. $13 for 330 yards.

Super duper duper duper really nice guy to really super duper duper duper mean asshole and kick your ass and drown your motherfucking ass if I can drown your ass and get away with it because everything is bigger in Texas the drowned in the ass whooping to fishing and everything else. idk, when im tying on a $50-100 musky lure, i want to straighten out the 5/0 black trident hook if it gets snagged, i want the pounder dawg to not snap my line on a backlash. all the affordable line makes up their price in pic count and quality control. power pro, suffix advance or 832, i trust those. berkley big game braid, my jury is still out on live bait rigs on glass or half glass rods that NEVER touch bottom, didnt fish suckers enough last year to give it a thumbs up or down.

Try some e6000 glue. You can find it at Dollar general and Walmart.
Smith lake here in Alabama at the smith lake dam has giant strippers! You jig giant spoons or use drop lines with live bait! They are usually around the thermocline it’s 200 foot of water and they hang out under them bait schools at 60 -80 ish. They show up on the finder real easy too! This is in the summer as well when that water Surface is hot in June! They can be caught trolling live bait and spoons up the lake in the winter it’s 15 feet deep around Houston! The Dam is near Jasper take care may God Bless you! Once you come to smith mountain lake you won’t want to come home! There Giant cats in there as well! On the way home swing through Florence to catch some blues at Wilson dam or wheeler! COME ON!!!
Great info on the braid. Just started using it on 1 pole last year. I agree with everything you have said in your videos comparing the pros and cons of mono vs braid. The one thing i dont like about what I've heard about braid , is that it is not as abrasive resistant as mono. I appreciate the info of the more economical braid. Now, does your amazon link include all purchases? My wife and i periodically buy random things on amazon.

I would use more braid but doesn’t do very good with abrasives. The 4 strand that I use on my poles I use in my boat is ftk . Cheap, stong and casts well . I also us big game braid when I cant get ftk . Cant go wrong with ftk at $2 for 100 yards .
I just bought a 1500 yd. Spool of 50lb reaction braid, cost me 43 bucks. We'll see how it goes.

Wow dude great price. Power pro. Been useing 12 years used to get 150 yards 12 dollars. Which yea 300 yards been 18 but yea now alot more so I can't really buy more. O got good deal 12 years ago had got 2 and 4 rolls of 12 pound till 60 pound. And it last along time but used the last of it no the ago and few reels lines been there 2 years some 6 years well I meed to change. So I need new but cheaper and been wanting the yellow that helps you see at night with a light. But 17 for 500 yards. Yes I'll try to order 1 roll and 1 next month. And I use Amazon I do reviews for people. But I've got few channels well there friends now they got links also. But none have line theres are more camping or survival gear. But I'm gonna use your link for the line. Do you have a store list were I can go click and order. You prob said but we'll guess I can go listen again lol. I prefer 8 strand Hercules.I used Fireline since it hit the market up until 3 yrs ago when I need to find a cheaper alternative.

If you got cheap guides it will eventually ruin the tip guide. The tips are easy to replace and can be found at walmart bass pro etc.

Is it round or flat I don’t like the stuff that cuts into the wraps on the reel you should of ate that striper
I believe it is a round line. I had no trouble after that striper..the heavier the braid the less likely of digging in. Also run your drag a little looser to keep it from digging in. Braid has no stretch and bad things can happen with a sudden stop. If it don't break the line which will break at a lower poundage compared to mono you can rip the hook out of the fishes mouth. With mono you have give in the stretch. With braid you can give it some give with a softer rod and loosening the drag. My rods are very heavy action so I will run a little looser drag than with mono
Those hooks in the description are Chinese knock offs. I'm sure most people don't even know. People do it with Gamakatsu hooks also.

I put a lot of time and money in gas and actually missing out on fishing myself while editing these videos. 80 to 100 miles on my truck per trip and the fuel to do so. It is about the dollar for some because many people are getting ripped off by the stuff they only see on store shelves. I share lots of information including places to fish for guys that don't know. I lose these fishing spots for the most part when I do that. I could just not video and keep all the fish for me. I actually don't catch as many big fish now that I video because I fish everywhere trying to keep the scenery different and the videos interesting. Many a time my check at work is short because I didn't get up in time staying up too late to fish or edit videos. If I can get a little back for all the trouble then I will surely take it. People ask me how they can help. Ask me for hats and shirts and things they can buy from me to help me out. I have been asked for a patreon button so they can just flat out donate. I have not done the patreon thing even though I sure could and make a lot more money than the few cents I will get for selling this line. I am not selling the line to sell something I don't like or believe in. I am selling it because it works great and will save me and a ton of other people money buying it over name brand. I am me on these videos and I am honest on these videos and I am giving people what they are asking for. I feel no guilt, no shame, and I'm gonna fish on and continue to do the same.

I was one that suggested he put the affiliate links back in the videos, and I feel the majority of his subscribers feel the same way. I'm new to catfishing, and If I'm going to go on Amazon and buy the stuff he suggests, I want him to be able to make a commission. Simple as that. I mean, seriously, you're commenting this on a guy's channel that promotes tackle box style rod holders and Barbie doll demon dragons. He's the antithesis to the guys only in it for the money.

You really don’t need leaders you can use huge singers and huge hooks if your using big line then your line shouldn’t snap
You're such a late bloomer Dave. Good braid doesn't have to be expensive. I predict u converting to braid on all of your poles. lol braids better. I've been using both. Braid can pull through weeds,sticks debre and most covers. U know the pros and cons already.
