I attended a Tim backyard bash. It was a way to perform during COVID. He performed mostly songs he wrote (co-wrote) and played keyboards. He had Jeffrey East (guitar), Chris Chatham (guitar), & Ernie Halter (keyboards, Cajun drum box) for accompaniment. 💜💜💜
My mother listened to the radio a lot when I was a small child, so doo-wop is kind of ingrained in my DNA. All of the songs on this album are really great. I hope you will react to more!
I love multiple Tims! He also collaborates with Peter Hollens and there’s a song where there are 3 Tims and they go by Tim, Timmy and Timothy. Hahaha. I love his version of The Beach Boys In My Room. It’s so good. And there are others too. Tim loves doo wop and I understand why. Good one David!
Thank you - I've watched this video dozens of times since Tim first released it, but you still managed to help me see more with the film editing than I would ever have noticed otherwise. One of the groups Tim sang with before joining Home Free is called the Alley Cats, they do doo-wop and comedy shows (it's where Tim stole some of his jokes from...) and so he said he pretty much didn't sit down and arrange these as just sing the parts again from memory. If I had to name a favourite video from the album, his Why Do Fools Fall in Love is just adorable.
I grew up listening to doo-wop because my father sang the songs of his teen years around the house for as long as i can remember. Tim's doo-wop brings back great memories. . Thanks for the Home Free and Home Free-ish reactions.
Tim's whole album is great & I know all the songs on it. I love this classic doo-wop music from the 50's-60's. I am most familiar with The Dell-Vikings version of "Come Go With Me" from 1957. Tim's voice is perfect for this style of music as he can sing in all the different ranges.
I’m so glad that I caught this right after it premiered. I’m also glad that I was able to point you to n Tim’s direction for solo pieces. I love Doo Wop and Tim does it so well! I learned a lot about the video from you in this reaction, and I always enjoy that from your videos. I hope you will do more of his solo work. The ones he doesn’t have RUclips videos for are worth audio only reactions if you are willing to do those.
I wasn't a big fan of do wop songs back when I was a kid, and they were making their first rounds. Now that Tim is bringing them back in his own special style, I really like them. I don't know if it's because I have grown in my appreciation of various types of music, or if it is just because I like everything Tim does. Thank you for your in-depth look at this creative video. Gail L.
I'm old enough to have heard this and loved it as a child. Still love it. I especially like that he kept the 'fainting' scream. Always makes me laugh. The entire album is great. He does a great version of the Beach Boys' In My Room. I hadn't really paid much attention to the video subtleties until you discussed them. Always interesting to get that new information. Ear scratchies to the beauteous Timmy.
I thought I knew the music video inside out, but I never realised why it was obvious to me which frames are Harmony Timmy - the lighting, thanks for pointing it out. To me Bass Tim gives his role away by the way he first looks at the camera, it's the "I know exactly what I will do and you are not prepared" look. The fangirling Harmony Timmy makes me laugh and smile every single time. But TenorTim/Prime Tim's reaction to Bass Tim is adorable too, "Showoff, charming but nonetheless showoff" :D Tim did say the reason for the "crowd track" is a slight nod to the impromptu performances of doo-wop groups at street corners back in the days. The impressive part to me with this album - besides his range - is the fact that Tim went into the studio and recorded the parts mostly from memory of his time with the Ally Cats and growing up listening to doo-wop. There are more Pieces of Me parts planned but nothing publicly yet.
"A tableau of Tims" - I will have to remember that. I had to check my clock to se if it was, indeed, 1:32 or not. Nope, only 12:58. But i Have no time sense, so thank you for making me be aware of it. I always enjoy your videos. You always see/hear something I was not aware of - sometimes a lot more. Tim has said that one reason he kept his high end was because he loves the do-wop and the falsetto voices of that type of music, so he worked (as his voice deepened) to be able to keep doing it.
I love Tim's solo album. Sadly, he's only released 5 videos of the 12 track album, but they are all awesome. Have you reacted to some of the stuff he's done with Peter Hollens? They've done a full album together and they are amazing. You can find them on Peter's channel. Thanks for the reaction.

What a nice way to conclude a Friday. I didn't know what du-wop meant, thanks for the explanation.
Hadn't heard this one before.
What a great song, really gets you in a good mood. 🇬🇧

That got me feet tapping - thanks David 😊

Just what we didn't know we needed, but definitely do--Tim Foust fangirling.

This is my favorite do wop song that Tim has recorded.
😊 thanks for doing this
(stay/ will you still love me tomorrow would we be great for a follow-up reaction....)
Enjoy Edinburgh!
I agree it’s so good
Never noticed most of the subtleties in the video. Thanks. 💜💜💜
Thanks for the very descriptive reaction!

Yes, Tim is harmonizing with himself. Love it. Check out his "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay".
Remember roller skating to this as a kid, really all songs on his album. A great album, great to dance to and sing along.
Cool shirt Dude!

Your shirt. Is everything.

*squints at David's shirt trying to read a brand name on the studs*
I'm such a brick snob. 🤣
