gonna make a part 2 to this with an alternate method ik now and a song tutorial eventually !!
the problem with looping the samples using newtone (or melodyne) is that they will sound robotic, mono, and not like the source audio at all, thats why you should just stretch your samples, but still make them recognizable from source
you also dont need to lay out 40 samples in the playlist, u can copy and paste in newtone
the part where u balance the gain of each sample can just be done with a compressor
other than that i guess this tutorial is fine

I usually use FL to put specific vowels when making a chromatic scale, but if you unsure what vowels you want to put, you can just use Chromatic Scale Generator, it has randomise samples, great tutorial i have to say though

Wait It is not advisable to just copy the vowels since that will make it sound a bit repetitive, and if you vary its scale it will sound better and get variety, try it
my friend actually tried this once and the scale turned out great, but i don’t usually do it since it’s more time consuming. It is very true though, if you can do this it’s def best to

How are you able to make Edison record the vowel? cause I was successful the first time, but I didn't know how and now I can't repeat it or get Edison to record the vowels I wanted

Personally when it comes to scaling the scale I drop all the base samples in (after some adjustments) then start from C2 and copy and paste my way up to B6... thats the note under C7 right?
1) yeah you’re free to go beyond 40 samples and go below C3/above the last pitch I used! I usually just do this because it’s easier and I don’t find myself out of that range usually

I can’t be the only one who when making chromatics just like how it is in videos, end up sounding way too high pitched for no reason and sound weird and off despite starting at c3 and and having 48 sample markers with fine samples. Dude wth am I doing wrong bruh
@@plasmaemerald8407 it may sound like that while making them but trust me in songs it’ll work better, vocals often occupy the higher end of frequencies
if push comes to shove you can try C2 as well, no shame in that

@@Mariozaney heres also a tip: if you slide your time cursor on newtone slightly to the left or right on the beginning you can make ur vocals clicky and more lively. it requires precision though and many recording takes. [also OTT YEAHHHH]

I feel like you didnt have to export all the samples as a wav file. It would’ve been better if you just consolidated the full song and then start pitching them into the pitch editor. But Overall, the chromatic didn’t turn out so bad.
For some reason when I consolidate it and open newtone it turns out rly weird idk how to explain it

@@unfunni3 it already is by default, if it isn’t working just look up how to get to the mixer in fl studio and it should all make sense

yuh sure jus send me samples
ok good cool.. now explain it
- vowel sounds are used as they often have more power than other letters in the alphabet, and can be sung easier (it’s basically impossible to hold a letter like “s” when you’re singing)
- consolidating the tracks is done so that each audio file is treated as separate - this makes singling out the sounds you want easier
- making sure each sample is long enough is done so that notes can be held in songs, being limited to only short samples can be quite limiting when composing
- pitching is pretty obvious since it basically gives you another key if you imagine the chromatic as a piano
- putting into sliceX allows the chromatic to be used like an instrument - dull auto slicing highlights the start of each sample for you for easy usage
or or the volume just use fl compressor, but i mean thats how i do it

nah, just make sure that newtone is on the master track otherwise it won't work (it acts like an fx plugin for some reason)

yeeee but I usually consolidate idk why
consolidating it makes it a completely new file and gets rid of all the other bits of the sample which makes it less of a pain in most cases

how to copy and paste
hold ctrl, click and drag your mouse over what you want to select, then press ctrl c. then find where u wanna paste it and press ctrl v
