So THAT'S what that character archetype is actually called.
I just called them "Percussionist" characters because of how percussive their voices are.

i feel a little bit of me die inside whenever someone says an atonal character has a "chromatic" haha
but yeah good good!! i must add that if you wanna try doing atonals, you also should be kinda careful with when to use certain vocals, and as a devoted vs dave fan i see that happens a lot when people try using bambi!! you can't just plop random notes everywhere, check which one of your samples have more punch, which ones don't and put them accordingly to the song every now and then!!

How'd you make it into a DWP, though?
Once you already have your SliceX patch, right click on it, and there should be an option to convert it to a DirectWave instrument
I have a question: What characters besides Pico and Darnell use atonals?
As far as base game characters, just those two as of right now.
actually i think all characters before week 7 were atonal since chromatics wern't used and kawai sprite spliced them himself

What if I want to do something BETWEEN the lines of an atonal and a chromatic?
If you don't put the effects on, and just tune your short samples, like you would any other chromatic, that'll work just fine, but you won't be able to put the frequency shifter on it, because it'll mess up the tuning
