    I'm not sure if you address this in other videos, but instead of taking a photo of your chart, there is actually a free Copic app that allows you to keep track of your colors and see what your missing which I highly recommend and is what I use. :)

    Not about copics but I work at Office Depot and help at their print center, we typically use the Neenah Vellum cardstock, so im guessing Staples print center is the same as ours where they’ll use a much higher quality cardstock (like Neenah) instead of their brand cardstock. (We only use our brand printer copy paper cause it’s a standard, while all our other paper is either Neenah or special ordered. So it’s probably the same system at Staples since both stores are very similar)

    You mentioned that the saturation level number after the color family indicates the brightness. Actually brightness is same as value which indicates the degree of light to dark. Saturation indicates the intensity of hue. For example, Light Blue is less saturated, but high in value (brightness) compared to Royal Blue which is high in saturation and mideum value. I hope that makes sense. I'm trying to get better at Copics and Your videos are really informative and helpful! Thank you so much for making this series!

      I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos, thanks so much for the feedback. That's correct, the saturation is represented by the amount/intensity of pigment and is the first number next to the colour family according to the Copic chart. The brightness value is represented by the last number, with 0's being lightest, and 9's being the darkest. Thank you for clarifying! 😊

    Don't know if anyone know, COPIC also has an APP for IOS/ANDRIOD to help keep track of what markers you've already purchased :D !!! Just look up Copic Organizer in your APP store! This doesn't replace doing your swatched but when your shopping everything is already on your phone :)

    I was taught to print the chart on the paper you use, cause you get a true color, so if you use mixed media and neehna sw you need a chart on both of the papers to get a true color blend.

    • @LeanneLandArt
      @LeanneLandArt  5 лет назад

      That's correct, it is best to use the same paper you will be using for your Copics. That way you will have the exact sample of what each colour is so there's no surprises in your artwork! 😊

      One of the best places to buy Copics is on Oozak. Cheaper than anyplace else I have purchased. Great service fast shipping if in stock.

    I created a Google Doc to keep my Copic organized. I added the swatch colors to each list and a checkmark box. When I'm shopping for new Copic markers, I'll pull up my Google Doc on my phone and I have everything listed in front of me.

    4:43 - You wondered about the Black 110. From the Copic website - The Copic Color System Explained...
    Copic has two versions of black ink: Black (100) and Special Black (110).
    Many people wonder what the difference is between the 100 and 110. The two blacks may look the same on some paper, but on others there is a noticeable difference.
    The 100 is a "true", deep blue-black, while the 110 is a slightly neutral gray-black -- it comes down to what pigments are used to make up each color. The 110 would be equivalent to a T11, if such a number existed on our color chart.

    The Copic chart is so small you cannot read the numbers or have room to swatch on a regular printer doing an 8.5x11
