More about the weights in case anyone was wondering. 👍
The stock weights are soft steel with a chrome plating so they rely on the plating for all of their hardness. The rcor weights are through hardened steel, so the strength is in the metal itself and not a coating.
I'm glad you are loving the machine its always a gamble on a newer model.
Great review. Honest. Accurate. Balanced.
Good video. I bought the weights but haven’t used them yet. Glad to hear they hold up after some miles are put on them.
Thanks for the review Garrett, very helpful!
👍 -Garrett
Just ordered the RCOR weights from your site. Since we live and ride the same areas, I’ll be picking your brain for the proper weight setup. Right now, I’m all stock but plan to get a tune in the future and also run 32’s. Thanks for the videos and the honest reviews!!!
Yep, let me know and I’ll get you setup. 👍
Thank You for this review! I have a 2021 Trail Edition and, I'm doing the same to mine. Except I put 35's on mine. Keep up the good work, Garrett
Thanks for watching 👍-Garrett
I just bought a trail edition I have drove it one time I really need to get rid of that lag in acceleration
@@tommyandrews3274 this will help with that, even if you just do the weights.
Garrett. Couldn’t agree with you more. Your weights are identical to mine with roughly close to same miles, along Cops ECU and Gboost belt. Overall perfect combination for performance and longevity.
Thanks for watching! 👍-Garrett
Grill looks good fellas!
Thanks man! Good job
I'm look into them cause I got 111 miles on my 2021 already having problems
Garrett, another good video. It good to hear about these products from people who actually own/use their machines.
I started getting the shifting feeling around the 500 mile mark. Upon inspection, the weights, rollers and sheave faces have some wear. Unfortunately, I don’t have the extended warranty.
Thanks for watching, maybe just try the weights and see how long it last? -Garrett
How far out of the factory warranty are you?
@@vincefallon3861 approximately 6 months
@@TexasPatriotOffRoadAndOutdoors
You might want to call Kawasaki corporate, and explain your situation. I’ve heard of them looking after customers out of warranty. Search some online forums maybe. Or just do like I did and buy the right coast off road weights. The guy at RCOR is pretty straight up, and good to deal with. Or order them from deranged.
@@vincefallon3861 I’ve actually created a trouble ticket on Kawasaki’s online customer help. They directed me to take it to a dealer.
I’m hoping once the dealer sees the damage that Kawasaki will cover it but it’s not guaranteed.
I’ve talked to RCOR on the phone and he is pretty helpful.
Were you having the “shifting” feeling before changing to those weights?
Next for me Dynojet tuner RCOR clutch weights and the Badass G- Boost belt
Great review. You seem to say it how it is. I have a 2020 KRX with 1500 miles on original belt and weights. I checked them at 1100 miles and thought they looked alright. I'm starting to feel that shifting at speed when I get on it. Been looking at what to change to. How will your setup work at 4-5,000 ft elevation and up. A lot of my riding is at 7 to 9,000 or higher here in northern utah. Not much high speed mostly mountain trails and rock crawling.
It will work great, you just need to adjust for that elevation. 👍 -Garrett
What is the weight set up you run ? I just ordered the same clutch weights and was curious what your final decision was as far as how much weight and where to put them
With my 34s I run no added weights.
I'm amazed you got away with towing that trailer! My transmission is out at only 400 miles and I have never been near a trailer.
Be careful out there!
No problems at all and I think most don’t have any issues with their trans.
You mentioned California model and evaporation system delete did it make difference? I just installed Dynojet let me know Garret thanks
I did the delete and it didn’t make any difference. -Garrett 👍
How did you get rid of the evap system? Is there a video out there that shows how? Thanks
I don’t have a vid on it but send us a PM on Facebook and I have a couple of pictures. -Garrett
Good afternoon! Tell me the timing tags 🙏
Morning Sir I have a 2020 KRX 1000 with about 1600 miles on it and its sifting like a automatic starting around 30 to 40 mph ?? i heard its the weights ? so when i change .them should i change the spring ? I .mostly trail ride here in Canada nothing extream like you boys .
Nope leave the spring add the new weights and Gboost belt.
@@DerangedOffRoad perfect thank you . Do you ship to Canada ? if so how much in total for .both
Yes we can ship to Canada. Can you email us at info@derangedoffroad.com please
Did you make a video of how to get rid of the Cali evap garbage?
I did not, you can pm us and I’ll help you out. 👍
How did you determine which internal weights to use?
Right Coast has a chart to follow.
Hey Garret, Was it hard to do the evap mod after the tune? Do you have a video or link to instructions?
I've been looking at diff tunes and looking at VForce vs the Cops. Any thoughts??
You can PM us and I’ll help you out. Overall easy to do really. 👍
The EVAP mod is necessary for every single KRX regardless of the tune or factory emissions system.
Exactly correct! 👍
Didn't I see you change out to a Cromwell clutch kit ?
No it’s been Right Coast the whole time.
Soooooo....when should we be expecting your turbo install video?
😂 honestly I don’t t have any plans on installing that. 👍-Garrett
Why Rock a Billy's? I have some (32's) on my T2 and really like them.
I haven’t tried these tires yet and they had good reviews so I went with them. -Garrett
I'm interested in the review for these as well, and the new ripsaw variation.
@@1978JWJ Eric with off camber just put some trail saws on his Teryx. He seems to like them. He had Rock a Billy's and wore them out. I like the ones I have on my Teryx T2.
ARE RUNNING STOCK OR OTHER EXAUST SYSTEM WITH THE COPS TUNE
All stock 👍
Good vid Garret
Have had Alba tune, now run Dynojet.
No real differences. Don’t think their is a huge difference in any tune. For what we are working with I believe same thing is done on any time. Until we get the supercharger or force turbo then that will be whole different story.
Thanks for the input 👍
There is a massive difference between tunes. The Dynojet device is literally incapable of achieving the same tune that we (COPS) flash.
If it was, you'd see us pushing the device just like we do for Honda.
Roughly 180 maps are missing on Dynojet device. FTecu has more support. Nobody has as much support as COPS.
@@zacharymorris9917
Deal
I do know this....
Both supercharger from kraftwerks and force turbo are utilizing the PV3 from Dynojet
For people (me) going that route.. good head start
@@mikedavis9784 facts are facts bud. The list of missing maps is egregious.
COPS tune only runs 9.3 0-60 and Force turbo runs 9.2 0-60. COPS tune and RCOR weights is FASTER than Force turbo (8.5).
Whatever you do, don't listen to a tuning expert giving you excellent (and free) advice.
Is best KRX nformation anywhere!!
Interesting fact: COPS/RCOR/Gboost combo is quicker than the Kumbustion turbo kit.
Can you use these to increase top speed/remove top speed limiter?
@@jeffeasson7314 yes
Garrett, you’ll never be as fast as a YXZ. Just stop and save your money! 😉
Probably, until we get to the whoops. 😄
@@DerangedOffRoad Lol, I am surprised nobody got butt hurt by that not knowing that we’re kidding around!
Yeah, I was waiting for them to all come out. 😂
@@DerangedOffRoad Hahaa
@@DUNEATV how’s that Jeepin’ and quad runnin’ goin?
I thought you are supposed to remove weight from the clutch for bigger tires
Nope need to add, I started with no weights when I didn’t have a tune and on stock 31s. Then with a tune went to two one gram weights across from each other for best results. Now I’m running four one gram weights with the 32s.
I've always been told a tune gives you horsepower so you add weight and bigger tires rob horsepower so you remove weight to compensate for that so you still have the best shift rmp when ridding
@@poohbear105 more weight means more belt grip which is suppose to equate to more horsepower reaching the tires sooner. That clutch engagement is key. The question many of us were wondering about is that wet clutch, how is it affected by tuning.
@@1978JWJ it should hold up fine. Weight kits have been out for years in the 800 Teryx line-up as well as several Yamaha products without any real issues.
@@1978JWJ so why in his first video about the clutch weights was his fastest 0-60 the one with no extra weights?
How dare you mock the 0 to 60 crowd?? These off-road machines are all about drag racing...come on man get with the program😂😂
It is funny how so many get hung up on that aspect.
0-60 is a far more accurate assessment of real world performance than a dyno.
Either way, 0-10, 0-20, 0-30 and 0-40 still belongs to COPS/RCOR combo.
