- A guide to creating MIDI files from Audio in Reaper. I show how you can record guitars, basses, vocals, or any other instrument, and generate MIDI tracks that can then be used to play virtual instruments within your DAW. It can also be used as a tool for transcribing sounds into readable notes and even full scores via the recorded MIDI.

Great video, thanks!
This guy mic quality is🔥💯
seeing the monk sing with this was kinda creepy not gonna lie l0l
add another Reatune just for pitch correction before the Reatune. It will make the note detection much more reliable.
Good idea. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing. You could use the midi filter to easily remove the extra small noise notes.
Cheers. I'll look into that. Any links?
Just looking at this - ruclips.net/video/GId0W5402BI/видео.html Yes, this could be useful. Thanks.
I did everything you taught in the video, step by step. But reaper does not record midi notes! Are there any more configurations that need to be done?
Hi Miguel, Did you tick the box to send MIDI? It's at 1:49 in the video.
@@tomcootemusic yes. 😔😔 my reaper version is V6.36, does this have something to do with it?
@@miguelmatusct I don't think it's the version. If you play the guitar track and leave Rea Tune open, can you see the played notes flashing up on the tuner's piano scale?
Same Problem here.
It does work with midi, but doesn't record it as Midi. :(
@Miguel Matus, It Works, but you need to add route send from your guitar track to midi record track with on ReaTune.
Tried that long time ago but it is not much useable ,and then i discovered jam origin midi guitar 2 and that is a game changer
I'm having trouble getting it to record to MIDI. I have two tracks, and I can successfully send my guitar output from MG2 into another track to trigger a VST, but when I record the MIDI notes aren't being written, it's just an empty MIDI item. If you have any insight into this I'd love to get some assistance.
@@zoltarwizdom6708 Try not to send it to another track but instead scan vst you want to use inside MG2(in standalone mode only) and when using in DAW you can make that vst running inside MG2
to fix it
set method 2:44 again before you start record
