It’s not directly referred to, but Lillie was dressed to look like Nihilego because Lusamine had an obsession for her children to be perfect and she thought nihilego was perfect. @@tiesdijkmans Nearly everyone hates on incineroar for it’s appearance. Like, it got the most hate out of all the final alola evolutions, one mean comment was made about poplio and then suddenly everyone pack bonded to it and started calling the other starters “overrated”. Then when the final evolutions were dropped, everyone started bagging on the fire starter. Putting him in smash is a decision made by the creators and isn’t exactly shocking when you consider the overall hype of fire starters. So essentially, what I mean is: I’m glad my baby is getting love from the community, for its appearance, rather than the usual insults.
@@yesterdaystomorrow5510 ah okay. I get why people wouldn't like it maybe but I like the design, without the spiky hair on his head he would be very weird
I honestly expected him to tear these apart just thinking back to the reactions from fans when Sun and Moon came out, but watching this made me realize it really was a good generation that got way more shit than deserved bc Pokemon fans were angey that things were changing
Pokémon fans are always going to be shitheads tbh. They complain as soon as a new gen is announced and then years later turn around and act like the gen they shat on forever is the best one. This coming from an almost life-long Pokémon fan.
I really don't like Crabominable and Kommo-O, too. I think both of them had lots of potential in their first form, then totally got fucked whilst evolving.
Also if you look at it the right way its head looks like those giant scissors people use to cut hedges with which is really cool to me. If you turn its head upside down it looks like one minus the teeth
Fun fact about the three Alola starters, each one represents a different alchemical prime. Rowlet’s circular shape and bowtie make him look like the symbol for salt, Litten’s little crest on his head makes the symbol for sulfur/brimstone in conjunction with his eyes, and Popplio looks like the symbol for mercury/quicksilver whenever he stands proudly with his round head, curved ears, and outstretched arms
"An anchor Pokemon is a really cool idea. Surprised we didn't have one already. I do like the seaweed, though." The best part about Dhelmise is that the seaweed _is_ the Pokemon. The wheel and anchor aren't sentient. It's literally just sentient, faceless seaweed. That's the actual Pokemon, and I love that.
I was nervous for this one! By far my favorite gen and I know a lot of people don’t like it. I’m glad you do though! I thought for sure you would rate the Alolan forms because there’s some interesting designs. I would love to see your reaction to those
Even though Gen 5 is my favorite generation (it was my first, so a bit of bias) Gen 7 was an amazing generation for Pokemon designs. There wasn't a single new Pokemon design that I didn't enjoy from Gen 7.
Gen 7 is my favorite Gen by far, SO many Pokrmon here I adore such as Nihilego, Araquanid, and Toxapex. Heck, the only Pokémon here I even remotely don’t “like” is Zeraora and that’s just because we have so many bipedal mammals already and Incineroar outshines them in the “anthropomorphic cat that will kill you” department. Ultra Beasts are the best addition to the series yet and I really wish that we could get more of them one day.

The Sun and Moon anime really did wonders on making practically every pokemon introduced precious. Some of my personal favorite precious moments include Ashs Lycanroc and Meltan rolling around in the snow, Kukuis Incineroar letting kids ride on him and trying to cheer up a baby, (The first two are the best in my opinion) Poipole making drawings symbolizing its love for Ash, his pokemon, Kukui, and Burnett, All of Gladions pokemon from him and his Lycanroc fist bumping, to his Lycanroc always patting Ashs Rockruff/Lycanrocs head, to his Umbreon and Zoroark reuniting, even his Silvally when its prideful about protecting people. Theres way more but I like to bring up the Incineroar one specifically because considering his attitude most of the time you think he'd be hard please, but off the battlefield hes really just a big softy. In Smash Bros Ultimate when you get an analysis from Palutena explaining that its generally bad mannered and plays dirty but ends her analysis with "its great with children" you usually get a cutaway to Incineroar drop kicking Ness or something like that. But my mind always goes to that scene with Kukuis Incineroar.
After Lily's father went missing, Lusamine became so obsessed with Ultra Beasts (his field of study) that she dressed their kid to look like Nihilego, which IMO is pretty creepy
Alola is one of my top two regions so I was very happy with this! Especially the S tiers. I wholeheartedly agree with most of them, especially Incineroar.
I've always seen the Lily Nihilego resemblance as less that Nihilego looks like Lily and more that Lusamine forced Lily to look like Nihilego, because she's obsessed with it.
@@pokemonkarma What do you mean ruins it? It doesn't have to wear that heavy head plate anymore. "it's edgeworth as an owl" goddamnit i can't unsee it now
It’s not directly referred to, but Lillie was dressed to look like Nihilego because Lusamine had an obsession for her children to be perfect and she thought nihilego was perfect. As for her design looking like Pheramosa, it’s probably to inspire slight fear or intimidation. I’m not sure on that one.
Way to cause a flood of memories with that Insectoids pull. Holy shit. Those were my favorite for a while and I completely forgot about them.
I love seeing so much love and praise for my fave gen; I've been playing since Ruby, but this is Pokémon at its best for me, close to 5.
"If Miles Edgeworth was an owl" 😂
As soon as he does Gen 8, I'm going to make a visual representation of this tier list.
Is it done?
Song Won using the term "furry bait" dealt 3000 damage directly to my life points and sent me to the fucking shadow realm
I like how the quality of the camera makes everything kinda warm a fuzzy, comforting
Alola's Pokémon are underrated.
You nerd to grab a dictionary because you clearly don't know what underrated means.
Alola has a lot of pokemon I adore, but never really think about
Definitely, I just wish they were more accessible. I remember really wanting to use a toxapex on my third playthrough but I didn't know where to find it
Yeah it has one of my favorites (Salazzle and lykanrok)
Uh to be fair Mareanie is like, the only one I can think of that's really rare.
All the other ones are actually quite accessible, like I mean this sure is no Johto.
I'm so glad Incineroar is finally getting love. My son deserves it.
He's in smash, Is one of the best starters competitive wise and is one of the coolest pokemon in the anime. I think he got love already. (he is in my top 3 as well)
@@tiesdijkmans
Nearly everyone hates on incineroar for it’s appearance.
11:39 "I really like the Seaweed". Dhelmise IS the Seaweed!
I think alola has the strongest designs overall compared to every other gen. The only one o really hate is bruxish
Idk, I think gen 6 has the better lineup even though its smaller
only pokémon i actually hate are aromatisse (such an awkward design) and bronzor for pokémon go reasons
I really don't like Crabominable and Kommo-O, too.
I think both of them had lots of potential in their first form, then totally got fucked whilst evolving.
@@appleant1083 you get it
Triggerfish [and also parrotfish] are just...like that, to be quite honest. They're typically less colorful in real life, however.
Gen 7 is my favourite in terms of Pokémon designs. I can look at every design and say that I like it.
Celesteela has a ton of sick design details- it's Princess Kaguya and her bamboo!
I didn't get that until you pointed it out. That's probably why.
Still looks pretty weird and a bit much.
Great inspiration but bizarre execution.
@@rockinrootbeer1795 all the ultra beasts look weird, that's the point
@@rockinrootbeer1795 Celesteela does look weird and she'll never be one of my favs. But it's fine because that was an intentional design choice
It's also a 30 foot tall living rocket ship, which makes it even more weird, but a bit more interesting!
Alola honestly had lots of strong designs. Probably why it's my favorite gen
Vikavolt might actually be my favourite Pokémon... I mean it's a stag beetle railgun and it performs great too.
WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE
Also if you look at it the right way its head looks like those giant scissors people use to cut hedges with which is really cool to me. If you turn its head upside down it looks like one minus the teeth
Sun and Moon was my first Pokémon game. I will always remember all the good memories I had from it
Lillie looks like nihelego because Lusamine was obsessed with it
Makes sense to me
Doubt it. Other ultra beasts somehow look like other people too despite them never having encountered them.
@@BK-ob3lo who? I'm genuinely curious since I never noticed
@@p0oka261 Xurkitree is sort of like Guzma with the black/white color scheme and spiky "hair".
And Pheromosa looks like Lusamine
Lmao call back to his skit “Decidu-I....”
“Oh like deciduous+eye”
Fun fact about the three Alola starters, each one represents a different alchemical prime. Rowlet’s circular shape and bowtie make him look like the symbol for salt, Litten’s little crest on his head makes the symbol for sulfur/brimstone in conjunction with his eyes, and Popplio looks like the symbol for mercury/quicksilver whenever he stands proudly with his round head, curved ears, and outstretched arms
Alchemy? In MY Pokemon game?!
That's a stretch, man...
Oh I’ve seen this theory before! It’s really cool
@@idontthink it's not though considering there are a lot of pokemon based on alchemy
@@idontthink The legendaries are based on Alchemy tho
"An anchor Pokemon is a really cool idea. Surprised we didn't have one already. I do like the seaweed, though."
The best part about Dhelmise is that the seaweed _is_ the Pokemon. The wheel and anchor aren't sentient. It's literally just sentient, faceless seaweed. That's the actual Pokemon, and I love that.
Oh, like a play on Deciduous and Deadeye, that's cool..
"Uh yeah, sure, sure"
I was nervous for this one! By far my favorite gen and I know a lot of people don’t like it. I’m glad you do though!
I thought for sure you would rate the Alolan forms because there’s some interesting designs. I would love to see your reaction to those
“Commoners have resorted to eating dog?”
How horrid, Throw it to the poor!
*Jeeves throw it to the poor*
1:20 You know, it was only when Incineroar was announced for Smash that I realized how smart its big hands are - those hands are MADE for grappling!
11:20 "C for Can't wait to die"
I feel yah Drampa
Even though Gen 5 is my favorite generation (it was my first, so a bit of bias) Gen 7 was an amazing generation for Pokemon designs. There wasn't a single new Pokemon design that I didn't enjoy from Gen 7.
7:30 it has a tag below its tail, it's literally made to be a plush
3:32 "bug pokemon are usually stupid and lame"
*Kid Trainer Timmy will remember that*
Been waiting for this, mimikyu is my absolute fav 🥺🥺
Gen 7 is my favorite Gen by far, SO many Pokrmon here I adore such as Nihilego, Araquanid, and Toxapex. Heck, the only Pokémon here I even remotely don’t “like” is Zeraora and that’s just because we have so many bipedal mammals already and Incineroar outshines them in the “anthropomorphic cat that will kill you” department.
Ultra Beasts are the best addition to the series yet and I really wish that we could get more of them one day.
dude i love this Let's Rank Sires i think even when this pokemon one is done you can still do other ranking i loved the ranking of pixar flims maybe next is disney flims or marvel or somthing cause there somthing about these vids there funny your personailty great and plz don't end this sires i love it to much
The Sun and Moon anime really did wonders on making practically every pokemon introduced precious.
*Gives Litten an S tier*
"Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well."
Sun and Moon is a very underrated generation. Very.
Yup and it's my fav
Faxxx
“Gumshoos remind me of Dick Gumshoe”
...
Holy shit
I was waiting for him to say Trump 😅
I'm surprised he didn't rate it F because he reminds him of Trump.😅It was supposed to be a gumshoe. Very unfortunate timing with that design.
Tsareena for me is a S, S from Step on me :v
Jokes aside, she is probably my favorite mon from this gen, along side Lunala and the UBs.
After Lily's father went missing, Lusamine became so obsessed with Ultra Beasts (his field of study) that she dressed their kid to look like Nihilego, which IMO is pretty creepy
8:42 Passimian is one of my favorites, so glad to finally get a lemur pokemon.
gen 7 is just some of my favorite designs
Rowlet being the first pokemon to get an S be like: aloha
i love the alola starters so much. they all get an s tier from moi
Alola is one of my top two regions so I was very happy with this! Especially the S tiers. I wholeheartedly agree with most of them, especially Incineroar.
"Popplio is probably my least favorite starter"
Me: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Same I love Popplio 🥺
just out of these three, though! it's a very solid design, it just gets overshadowed by two BANGERS in the forms of Rowlett and Litten tho
@@AzureKite this ^^^
all of the alola starters are
Popplio’s an A tier imo
I've always seen the Lily Nihilego resemblance as less that Nihilego looks like Lily and more that Lusamine forced Lily to look like Nihilego, because she's obsessed with it.
Okay, haven’t watched any of this yet. I am terrified where Type: Null and Silvally land.
Edit: SUNGWON WE ARE THROWING HANDS
I repeatedly refreshed this comment just to see this edit.
to be fair, while Type:Null sure is an interesting design with a cool backstory, Silvally 100% ruins it.
I love Silvally :(
@@pokemonkarma What do you mean ruins it? It doesn't have to wear that heavy head plate anymore. Also it evolves through happiness which makes it all the more depressing considering how it was treated by the scientists who created it. It could have turned into a Mewtwo situation if Gladion and the MC hadn't gotten their hands on both versions. Also its companionship with Gladion in the Anime is very cute. Actually all of Gladions pokemon in the anime are precious.
Saaame I was so sad 😭
You should totally do a gag video for April Fools where you rate the "Earth Region's" real life animals.
We’re almost there guys, only one more generation to go. I feel like he’s going to be brutal with it😅
As he should tbh. Over 20 years deep and they still can't get some things right.
@@streamsos well, at least it's better than gen 5. Not that that's hard to accomplish anyway
@@streamsos I mean sadly, you kind of have a point
@@mcnierstenen9017 it’s definitely not. Gen 5 is easily best gen 😭
I mean I hope he has another video where he goes over mega evolutions, alolan forms, and hopefully gigantimax and galarian forms. As there’s a total of 117 between all that I just mentioned
6:53 "I bring you looove."
"It's bringing love! KILL IT!"
Good ol' Mr. Burns.
Most underrated generation ever imo.
That’s a fact
Especially when it comes to the new Pokemon, in my book. I really like the vast majority of new designs we got.
I think Gen 5 is a little more underrated but Gen 7 is actually stellar. Alola is a super fun region, the pokemon are all really fun, even if some of them look stupid. It's just fantastic. Shame the games are shit.
@@AzureKite Gen 5 is loved by a lot of people. It actually got more popular in the last few years because of its music.
Its definitely not underrated imo. But not a lot of people talk about gen 7 and Alola.
Dont personally like 7 it never felt like i was exploring but was on a guided tour which fits the motif but isnt for me
Oh Man I really enjoy your videos bro. Greetings from Brazil!!
7th gen was really good.. but that beginning makes me want to pull my hair out. Should be able to skip some of the hand holding
YES OH MY GOD
I loved the games in gen 7 so I re played them AND CHRIST LEMME GO
I think that's part of the reason people didn't like sword and shield myself included. Between all the handholding and the 30 year long cutscenes i almost went insane
@@darknesswave100 yeah I actually liked SWSH on the first playthrough quite a bit because I spent so much time in the wild, which I enjoyed a lot. But the rest of the game was very mediocre, esp the story

The story was honestly confusing and boring cause your just there
You don’t fight any cool dyna Pokémon around until after game and honestly Leon is a MC
4:20 holy crap I didn't know this one but it's gotta be the cutest pokemon in existence. S tier for me!
Alolan Variants?! Woulda love the confirmation Exeggutor and dugtrio are S tiers
I always thought that Nihilego didn’t look like Lillie, Lillie looked like Nihilego. I sorta figured that since Lusamine was both incredibly controlling of Lillie and unhealthily obsessed with Nihilego, she dressed her like it.
