  • Ukraine is now using the Corvo Precision Payload Delivery System (PPDS)-a stealthy, ultra-light drone made of waxed cardboard from Australia-to strike Russian airfields. In this video, I break down how this $700-$3,000 drone, which can be assembled like a flatpack IKEA-type kit, is wreaking havoc on multi-million dollar Russian fighter jets.
    I explore how Ukraine’s use of low-cost, high-impact drones is redefining modern warfare, from swarming enemy defenses to evading radar detection. Plus, learn why these "cardboard" drones could be a glimpse into the future of swarm warfare, and what it means for global military strategy.

    Impacts of swarm warfare on military strategies

    Just checked the date of this video to see when it was uploaded/released because the company in Geelong that makes the _Flat Pack_ Cardboard Delivery Systems have been shipping them to Ukraine for at least a year now. They started shipping 100 units a month so I am hoping to see what the shipping numbers are now. 🤞 that this information is available for the video. 👍

    3000 grams is 3 kilograms, I would have thought any US military members would have know that. 3 kg of high explosive will do some serious damage.

    Crikey, mate!
    Glad to see your channel growing and getting stronger!
    That was my thought too (for the last 2 years): If its a disposable drone, why not cardboard?
    Or, in most extreme cases - mold the entire hull of Plastique? Thus you'd make the payload AND the airframe go Kaboom!

    Currently an aircraft carrier task has a group of ships, like Arleigh Burke missile destroyers, that "sail shotgun" for the aircraft carrier. There is often a submarine guarding the water underneath the carrier. I expect that very soon the aircraft carrier and perhaps the entire group will sail with layers of drones, including underwater drones, surface uncrewed vessels and of course aerial drones. The aircraft carrier is fully capable of manufacturing drones, and drones can do inflight recharging of batteries as demonstrated by a hobbyist last year. Layers of drones swarms could also protect against hypersonic "carrier killer" missiles because the collision of a hypersonic missile even a cheap drone will do massive damage to the hypersonic missile. Layers of drones could easily be programmed so that the flight of the drones always has one or two drones lined up to cover a point in the hemisphere of space around the aircraft carrier above the water line. Imagine a murmuration of drones similar to a murmuration of starlings.

      @snuscaboose1942 Час назад

      Suspect you are right about drones becoming part of a carrier group but I doubt a small drone is going to be effective against an incoming hypersonic missile, due to mass and velocity differences, like a fly impacting an inflight 9mm bullet.

    There's also a Heavy Lift version called the PPDS-HL which has double the payload capacity (6kg) and an increased range of between 80-200km depending on the payload (6kg/3kg). Would love to see these given to Ukraine as that puts a lot more Russian airfields within striking distance.

    Incredible that coated cardboard is part of a weapons system. Time for Russia to develop giant butterfly nets aka golf driving range netting.
    PS - wonder if golf driving range netting is on dual use listing?

    Yes Australia was a land of great innovation but we do have a problem with corruption and that's what happened with the Taipan helicopters -politicians burying the problem because of a heads up screen on the helmets that they were warned about ,they better get those Abraham tanks over there ASAP! Australian politicians generally need a good kick up their ass Wes... but luckily much of the core of the military still know a good product when they see one. As for Australia buying nuclear submarines that is another dumb ass move and our submarine commanders know it ,what we're going to end up with is swarms of underwater drones blowing the sh**t out of billion dollar submarines. Keep up the great work very informative technically regards Mike in Oz
