@@rustykate12 Same! What I wouldn't give for a voice that made people search for everything I've ever done. Obviously she's spent thousands of hours training her voice, but it also has such a special tone to it.

Fun fact Bonnie Raitt said at a concert MANY yrs ago , A "Poster" was the people from the rodeo (when it was in town ) who put the posters up all over town to advertise ! So they were called POSTERS ! I thought that was kind of cool ! I live in Philadelphia and saw Bonnie 14 times between the age of 14 - 60 ! She used to play at really cool venues like the TOWER THEATER ! And Ambler ,Got 4th row center tickets for $4.50 !!! thats back when John Prine and Freebo were on tour with her ! Monica makes it sound so sweet ,perfect song for her ! The arrangement is beautiful.....

I like Monica, but there is something a little off about her vocal performance on this, and I can't quite put my finger on it.
Perhaps you are struggling with her deep and complete ownership of this song. Sweet guitars too.

To my ears, she's flatting a lot of the notes, and struggling. Damn my ears if you must, but it's my experience, and I was primed to like this. It's a great song and she has a powerful voice, but THIS performance is not her best, nor the best version of this song. May I add that I love this project? And look forward to more...from Monica, from all the great players and singers.
I felt she struggled to find the pocket initially. By mid song she was feeling it though. Overall great performance. I felt her cover of Don't Think Twice might be the absolute best cover of anything I've ever heard. She completely owned that song!
@@jukebox212003 I have to agree with you on Don't Think Twice. It's my favorite performance of Monica's, and the benchmark for this channel. I honestly don't think anything can ever top it ... ONLY equal it.
