To Carson’s dad - I’ve been following Carson for about a year now. I’ve heard just about all of his RUclips recordings. It’s not just his mellow voice. He’s a good storyteller. He knows how to make you feel the song. I’m 62 and I notice a lot of the comments for Carson and Josh are from people in my age group, but lots of younger people too. Good music appeals to everyone. I’m sure your proud. I’ve heard Skylar too, and love his voice as well!
you have a lot of catching up to do with all their videos from years past, a very nice road to travel. They are down to earth, amazing, talented, Artists.
Holy cow, Becky! You nailed it with that phrase. I can't help help seeing Carson as a little like Buddy, and his old man looks a little like Leonard. They're both angels from Montgomery!
My wife said that this was the best post of you that I’ve played for her. We think your wonderful. Thank you for entertaining us. May God Bless you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This might be one of my all-time favorite recordings/performances of any song ever! Music is my life and soul and I would never say something like that lightly.
Man, I'll be honest I used to scoff at Carson vids, looking so clean and everything pristine. But he is bringing some truth. Now they get my spirit riled up to make music.
Man I love your voice you have a split personality when you're with Josh you are today's Simon and art and when you are on your own you become today's Bob Dylan I just want every album you do on your own and with Josh, I am a big fan.
Thank you for remembering John Prine. I didn't know of him until I listened to you & Josh Turner do Paradise. I became a fan after I Iooked up to see what else he had done. That was about three years ago. So sad to lose such an enormous talent.
One of the first songs I learned was off a John Prine album ("Dear Abby"), I think those of us who grew up with this music have a special appreciation for you and your friends who have listened and embraced these songs, thank you
If there is one singer-songwriter I wish I could have met and jammed with on one song... John Prine: Angel From Montgomery. Carson, you and your Pops have captured everything Mr. Prine poured into this iconic song. Thank you. (Bro-hugs to you both)
A fine troubador for this generation. We are blessed by the work you, Josh and your friends offer us through RUclips. Thanks Carson... and thanks to your dad. I imagine he's had something to do with your taste in music. Most of what is on offer today is worthless drek. Thanks for the antidote.
Good effort Carson, keep it up, we're enjoying it. We all had tickets for John Prine's concert in Glasgow at the back end of last year - which was postponed due to John's health and we all got rain cheques for the new date this year. Then when we heard he'd caught it, this infernal plague, we all knew it looked bad for him with his history. He'll be missed but I'll keep playing his songs in the folk clubs and pubs like I've been doing for years and years. What a song writer!
What a fantastic voice Carson has and his guitar skills have improved considerably. Maybe one day, The Other Favorites will get the credit that they deserve. Josh and Carson are pure class.
How the hell can a person Go to work in the morning And come home in the evening And have nothing to say Chills every time! Nobody captures life like John Prine did. Lovely cover as well!
It's hard to analyze why that particular lyric is so pungent, but if he did nothing else other than write that lyric, that would be a career well spent.
This is one of those I found in parents’ records and listened to over and over on lonely afternoons. John Prine’s songs kept me company and still do. I am sad he is gone. Thanks for that rendition.
I've been playing this for a number of years in G, but after watching your version, I much prefer your chord sequences. Great guitar work great voice & phrasing, a wonderful tribute to John Prine. This 67 year old is impressed!
I'm 60 and I've been a big fan of Carson and josh for about three years now and they never disappoint me. Carson has an incredible voice and is a great songwriter. So thank you Mr. Mckee for making a baby who grew up to be a wonderful musician. And nice job on the harp too. 😊❤👍🎶🎶🎸
Beautiful tribute. Thank you. I have been a John Prine follower from decades back. I was so saddened by his passing. This felt extra special to me this week as not only did we lose John Prine to the virus, I also lost my mother to the virus on Easter. This felt personal for me. Thank you for putting such feeling into this. Your dad is amazing on the harmonica. Your whole family must be master musicians. Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely. Saw him sing this at I think the Quiet Knight in Chicago and Bonnie sing it at Tulagis in Boulder both long before Carson was born. Prine was wonderful and Carson has the soul to do this justice.
I've been following you since the lockdown period, but I missed this piece. Here in Italy, among young musicians there is often a debate between the importance of unpublished music and re-proposing only the repertoire of the tradition of the last 50 years. I wish many of them enjoyed your humility and preparation.
Just stumbled across this looking for a male voice doing the song other than Prine - Just looking for something different. I do believe this is the best version I've heard. Unbelievably good - and yes, Prine would approve!
I was fortunate to hear John Prine in concert, loved his music and songs. You've done this song very well and your Dad sounds great on the harmonica. You're such a musically talented family.

What a lovely comment.
@@dufus2273 One behind you...
dude the HARP ABSOLUTELY SENT SHIVERS DOWN MY BODY
Holy cow - John Prine would be proud. Your Dad did a great job, too.
Holy cow, Becky! You nailed it with that phrase. I can't help help seeing Carson as a little like Buddy, and his old man looks a little like Leonard. They're both angels from Montgomery!
righton!
That harmonica has a lot of soul. Beautifully done.
Thank you for the beauty that you bring into our lives! Rest In Peace, John Prine. You deserve a good rest and an afterlife of love, music, and peace
My wife said that this was the best post of you that I’ve played for her. We think your wonderful. Thank you for entertaining us. May God Bless you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What a wonderful rendition. I really enjoy your music very talented.
This might be one of my all-time favorite recordings/performances of any song ever! Music is my life and soul and I would never say something like that lightly.

Nice pretty cover Gentlemen 🎸
Thanks for this also to your dad
Nice job. JP would approve
Superb! Joel just dropped the cherry on top of it all.
It's pretty obvious the Carson boys were influenced by their dad's soul. I'm glad I found their page.
This just broke me, man. Bless you and your dad.
Applause!!!!!!!! This is your song. Own it. Run child, run.....
Nice to see your dad on this. Hoping to see you and Josh on the road again.
Go Dad!
Thank you Carson love you
By far the best cover I have heard of this song!! Absolute perfection!
"Just give me one thing that I can hold onto . . . "
Thank you, Carson for sharing your musical gift during this troubled time.
I don't typically write comment on music videos because I expect them to be good. :-).
But this is incredible. RIP J.P.
Man, I'll be honest I used to scoff at Carson vids, looking so clean and everything pristine. But he is bringing some truth. Now they get my spirit riled up to make music.
I was agitated tonight. Thank you brother for giving me a piece of your peace.
Carson - outta the ball park dude. Outta the ball park.
Carson John is smiling from Heaven along with his buddy Steve Goodman, so nice to see your Dad. Much respect and love, you all stay safe.
Wow. As a life long Prine fan there is nothing more that I can say, just wow.
Love it… You and your dad would made John Prine proud. 😍
Nice work Gents.
a velvet voice from heaven
Carson doing John proud!!!
Absolutely wonderful. RIP JP
Nice work here, boys!
Nicely done. RIP Mr. Prine.
Man I love your voice you have a split personality when you're with Josh you are today's Simon and art and when you are on your own you become today's Bob Dylan I just want every album you do on your own and with Josh, I am a big fan.

Tears and goosebumps
You have such a powerful emotional voice ,, it matches anyone,, and your playing is so subtle and melodic, from a Brit fan,,

All the feels. This song hits me no matter who sings it, but damn Carson, that hits hard.
well spoken
Smooth fellas real smooth 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍😎😭😭
Fabulous
Thank you Carson and a big hello to your father .John PRINE is in peace now with the Angels. 😥😍🙋♀️🙋♂️

Beautiful and soulful tribute to Mr. Prine by both father and son.
This is beautiful and the harmonica is perfect.
Carson, you have made John Prine proud. Great cover. Thanks.
Every. Single. Note. You. Sing. And. Play. Is. Done. With. Superb. Accuracy.
Amazing. Big fan of Carson and Josh. This is such a heartfelt rendition. How are you not more famous? Why don't you have millions of subscribers?
He doesn't do covers of popular songs so maybe that's why
@@eczenarosa4396 ? That's just about all he and Josh do.
I feel the same.
This is amazing.
I say the same thing about Stop Light Observations.
Look at "50 Ways." Phew...
Ah yes john prine/bonnie raitt cover. One of my faves and this fellow belts it out....
Carson, So glad you're in my life!
How the hell can a person

God bless you all dear Carson. So nice song! Keep safe. Uruguay Catalogne, Montevideo, URUGUAY

Thanks for that rendition.
Beautiful
I am so.pleased you did this. I am sure John Prine would have been pleased too.
Man that Eastman sounds like a million bucks on this one. Great cover of a great song.
Don´t know if I ever heard it better and more intense than this time - thanks Carson, you´re a big one!
One of my favorite songs done beautifully. Bravo, Carson and Carson's Dad!

What a fitting tribute to one of America's greatest song writers. Thanks for doing this. Please keep them coming.
I’ve listened to this at least 10 times a day since you dropped it.
I'm really looking forward to the gang getting together again soon, but I'm also really coming to appreciate you on your own. This was excellent.
Can never get over how good that guitar sounds !
You got mad skills man great cover your voice is unique and smooth 👊

Incredible. Glad you are putting out videos more frequently
Beautifully and simply - and therefore strongly - sung, as Prine intended it to be. Harmonica by dad was a great touch. Awesome.
Wow Carson, that was great. Nice to see Joel add this two cents in too.
Well done, brother.
That was some tasty harp work 👍
Truly one of your VERY BEST......WOW!
Wow. Needed this one right now. What a poet John Prine was.
His buddy Steve Goodman greeted him at the Gates of Heaven for sure....
Absolutely. Saw him sing this at I think the Quiet Knight in Chicago and Bonnie sing it at Tulagis in Boulder both long before Carson was born. Prine was wonderful and Carson has the soul to do this justice.

Beautiful version of this John Prine classic, Carson. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes, Andi 🙂🎸
Beautiful Carson. Thanks.
Just stumbled across this looking for a male voice doing the song other than Prine - Just looking for something different. I do believe this is the best version I've heard. Unbelievably good - and yes, Prine would approve!
Bittersweet. Soulful. Heartfelt. Thank you.
Great version. Just great. What a songwriter that man was 😢
Serious chills! Thanks Carson and thanks John Prine, RIP
Beautiful. Chills.
Thanks Carson ❤️
Yup... that’s how you get it done! Keep it up Carson
This is how I would love to play the guitar. Maybe someday. Thanks for the great rendition.
I can’t stop listening to anything Carson and josh put on RUclips. My head explodes every time. Keep it up!
Amazed..and so totally perfect. Thank you so very much ❤️
Dylan, Eagles, Johnny Cash, John Prine, Ernie Ford, The Levee and Flawed recording..... You are a gift to us Carson.
Digg! Love John Prine, and this is one of his best. You nailed it!
Carson thanks. John would be damned proud. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was fortunate to hear John Prine in concert, loved his music and songs. You've done this song very well and your Dad sounds great on the harmonica. You're such a musically talented family.
Great rendition. You slipped in the feminine touch by singing Bonnies text. (Had me a cowboy…). Stay safe
Merci à votre père et à vous Carson pour cette magnifique chanson ! Portez-vous bien.
Thank you Carson and Carson's Pop!!
