Fuel Pump and Fuel Level Sensor Replacement 2005 G35 Coupe AT

- Hey guys so the main reason I’m going ahead and replacing my fuel pump and fuel level sensor is because 1 the fuel pump also has a level sensor built in and the fuel filter is built into the pump so that’s why I’m replacing the pump and I’m replacing the fuel level sensor because my fuel gauge on the dash does not read properly and I’ve been left without gas maybe 5-6 times, it’s not fun so here’s how to replace these objects and very possibly fix the gauge issue, I can’t guarantee because I won’t be able to find out until I run out of gas, and the reason I want to run out of gas for is to see if while being completely empty what will the gauge read, hopefully it will say empty but only time will tell when I run out, so far I filled up on gas and it is reading full

Was it giving any service codes?
Unfortunately not, and it still didn’t fix the issue, I’m starting to believe it lies in the cluster (the issue)
I replaced both Fuel Pump and Sending unit on my FX35 and still shows 3 quarters full at all times. super annoying.
Same it did not fix my issue but I still kept the new ones in because the other ones had 175k miles on them

It read good for a minute but then went back I think either the ecu or the gauge cluster, but I went ahead and kept the new ones on because the car has 180k on stock motor and the fuel filter is built in the fuel pump so I kept the new one because of the new fuel filter
Did you finally fix the problem? My sons car has the same issue
@@DAISEYLEETHE1ANDONLY sadly no, my guess now is fuel gauge on the cluester
@@nationaloutlaws4818 You can test it by disconnecting the Sending under behin the drives side and then turning the car on... if the gauge read No GAS the gauge Cluster is good.... it's something else like mine... when i unplug the sending unit it reads Empty tank... and plugged in it read 3 quarters full all the time.
@@DTUFINOPhotography mine doesn’t read 3 quarts all the time it’ll go up and down like normal but the need is not where it needs to be
