    Update. Now 7 months in. I love this machine. I only use it on fixed pressure. It is super quiet. Easy to use and clean. Very comfortable too. The humidity is great. the chamber hinge that Jason points out seems thin, but it has been very sturdy. I can't see a problem with it. 3 minor issues: Hose is a little stiff and wonky, but not a deal breaker. Bluetooth loses connection sometimes and you have to unplug the power and connect it again to fix. Still not SleepHQ compatible, but OSCAR works great!

      Did you use Resmed before this one, and is it a problem that you can't change tuvbe temperature, or the humidity works on auto great.

    I've been using this machine for over a month now, and I really like it. Extremely quiet, and sleeping well with it. Only one slight annoyance is that the hose is a little stiffer than others I have used and can be a little awkward at times, other than that it is a solid machine. Glad I bought it!

    It is all pretty durable it seems from my experience in using it for over a year. I’ve never used other machines but this thing is basically zero sound. Previous to using one myself my the only time I seen one of these machines was when I had to share a room with someone who used one. The dang machine kept me awake all night while friend had a great nights sleep.

    The Fisher & Paykel is much heavier than the ResMed and the buttons are harder to use than the ResMed if you have any sort of arthritic problem in your upper body.
    Other than that machine works well but if I had my time again I would get the ResMed
    I can't carry the F&P machine myself which is a problem whenever I take it to be serviced.
    Just because the machine is marketed as being better for arthritis it does not mean that it is.

    Another comment: the design is not fantastic. Great improvent needed: size of the box, controls and électric cord (reminds me an old military type of electrical plug . Otherwise, the machine works very well.

    I OWN BOTH the Resmed and this one. The Resmed is much better because you can change the tube air temperature going to you so it blows cooler air. With the P&K you just get hot air blowing at you! Like living in Florida in summer. Also the P&K does not self-start and you have to press the button. You can’t travel with it to different countries unless you buy the plug for that particular country. Also, the silicone top of the humidifier stinks if you don’t wash it REALLY well EVERY night. Stinks like mold. The Resmed, you just need to wash it with dishwashing liquid once a week. It’s much less high maintenance. But the biggest thing is the heating tube. I hate breathing in hot air. I can change the temperature in degrees on the Resmed. It was a relief to breathe in cool air. I like my room to be cool and not warm when I go to sleep, so I don’t like to breathe in warm air. There’s also a lot more features on the Resmed besides that, like it shows you what your average pressure is. Also there’s a setting if you always want a ramp on, think you have to keep the button pressed down at the start with P&K? Not sure. The Sense Awake didn’t make a difference to me that I know of. If I wake up with the Resmed, I do have to pull the mask away from my face if I want it to stop blowing so high. Noise level is the same between the two machines. I just use my Resmed now. Just be sure to get the latest Resmed (July 2022 as of now, not sure when it came out) as the previous model had a leaky humidifier chamber!

      Re Plugs: Have to do that for everything anyway I believe. Re Humidifier: It's adjustable (up or down). Re Gasket: I have *never* come across this. I suggest you swap to distilled water.

    • @MsEvasionn
      @MsEvasionn 2 года назад

      @@BarrySuridge no, I live in the U.K. and as the Resmed has the large converter box on the power cord (lead), I can plug it straight in when I go to the USA or France. With my P&K, I needed to buy a separate plug for the USA, which I have done, as it doesn’t have a converter box on the lead for the amps in each country. (With the Resmed, you just have to change the SHAPE of the plug that goes into the socket which you can get at any airport, not the whole power cord).

      Great feedback.
      I just bought the resmed airsense 10 and has 30 days return warranty..
      I am hesitant whether to return it and get the F&P sleepstyle just for its sensawake feature which automatically adjusts the pressure down if im awake (due to high pressure).
      Im on my 2nd week with Airsense10 and the main drawback is the high pressure at night ,which causes mask leak and wake me up..
      1. Does the senseawake really work particularly in dropping the pressure and wont WAKE you up?
      with Airsense10 i just remove the mask too, to drop the pressure..

    • @MsEvasionn
      @MsEvasionn 2 года назад

      @@thierrysiao1402 From memory, it is not that intuitive, so it doesn’t know you’re in the process of waking up. You wake up, it’s blowing hard, and then it drops. So I doubt it would help with you waking up due to high pressures and leaks. Sounds like you need to adjust your mask tighter or maybe try one with the silicone because it sticks to your face more? I would never take the Sleepstyle over the Resmed. My Sleepstyle is sitting in a box. The main reason is that I don’t like breathing warm air. I find it much more comfortable to have the air temperature at like 19, nice and cool! That reason alone to me makes it worth it.

    I've been using this machine for more than a year. At first, it was fantastic for about 2 months. then i started to get the same sleep apnea bad effect. Tired, dizzy, problem to concentrate. The supplier telle me the machine is fine and is working well. I had a few problems recently with air leaks, I changed the mask and was better. But i still have problems with 4 days out of 5. Usually, head aches and mostly dizziness and problem to concentrate for most of the day until 3 -4 pm. Then on evening is better usually. So i miss most of my day battling this bad side effect. Anybody have any clue ? I getting hopeless.

    • @olalan
      @olalan 7 дней назад

      I had this same problem. Turns out I was choking while on my cpap machine. if you have a very narrow upper airway, sometimes the cpap air will force your tongue into your throat, causing you to choke while you sleep. if you stay on your side, it will help you. also, the RonchAP upper airway clasp, which is available in europe, used in combination with the cpap helped me greatly. i no longer have the sleep apnea effect you describe.
