    The F&P Solo is one of my favourite masks for 2024; however, there has been a little bit of negative feedback regarding the exhalation holes. The Solo feedback survey completed by over 70 SleepHQ Pro Members scored a 6/10 for mask noise which is not terrible but room for improvement.
    Here's a quick, cheap and easy way to add an 'air diffuser' to your Solo that will reduce the noise and stop the airflow from disturbing your partner in bed! Here are a few other tips that can really help.
    1. Use a 19mm tube and set your cpap machine tube settings to Standard/22mm
    2. Use EPR, which will drop the pressure on exhalation so there's less air moving through the holes
    3. Check out the V-Com, which softens inspiratory flow
    Cheers!

    I just started using this mask 2 weeks ago and I haven’t had any issues with noise. I don’t have any complaints at all. Best mask I’ve ever used. Also my first nasal mask. My apnea episodes have been around 0.5 per hour every night. With previous full mask I averaged 8 - 12 per hour.

    I have the pillow in medium size.Bloody amazing.As i settle down comfy to sleep i gently pull the mask away from my nose,it locks in,and you cant really even feel it against your nose.Game changer.I listen to audio books or quiet music at night so have never noticed any noise but you can feel the air releasing if your hand is near the outlet.Overall a fantastic product,love it.Thanks mate for all your work ,you are my reference point for all cpap info.Onya. Champ.

    The resmed air 11 filter fits perfectly with no trimming. What is your opinion on using this filter in your hack?

    Regarding the use of adhesive tapes for the mouth: I used so-called low-allergenic tape from the chemist. Worked well stopping mouth leaks. But after a few weeks of use I was getting - at first nasty itchy rashes on the chest and later on the arms and legs. The doctor thought it was eczema. As soon as I stopped using the tape the rash went away. Those toxic chemicals on the glue they use!

    Very interesting. I use Kinesiology Tape over my mouth as mouth tape and its very breathable. I thought about using it with my resmed full face mask. Why can they not just provide some type of take diffuser? like why is it so hard? I love my brevida for this reason.

    Uncle Nicko, another nice video. Thanks I wonder if it would make a difference in only blocking part of the exhaust holes? Maybe don't make the filter as long?

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews 4 месяца назад

      I've been using for a few weeks like this and i haven't noticed any issues. Perhaps a slight increase in resistance during exhalation. I use some of these EPAP devices that basically have 1 tiny little hole for expiration so i can't imagine this diffuser will cause many issues (unless you already have a lot of respiratory issues of course). Cheers

    Question if it isn’t asked already…on the ResMed Airsense 11, do we need to set the mask type to nasal or pillow? I’ve seen all kinds of answers everywhere! I would assume Nasal since I have the nasal version and not the pillow but who knows…thanks!

    Maybe a silly question, but what mask setting should I use for the Solo nasal mask on Resmed Airsense 11, nasal or pillow?

    Hey mate, have you measured the Co2 exhalation since doing this video and the impact of this mod?
    While commenting - Hows this compare (in terms of volume) with the Evora? Much the same?

    Seems simple enough

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews 5 месяцев назад

      haha, doesn't get much simpler than that! From my personal experience you would only really need this if you have high pressure requirements (ie above 12cmH20). Below that the noise is very acceptable. Cheers

    Why would you have a filter on a mask that air is escaping ?

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews 5 месяцев назад +2

      about 50% of masks do have some sort of air diffuser filter. It reduces noise and also stops the air disturbing a partner etc. Cheers

      Have a question for you. Can't find the hostage tape post, so, have you ever tried a foam accident cervical collar to keep the mouth closed?
