At time 7:01 the canal you were calling Sunny Dale Park leads to a subdivision called Sunny Dale Park. I grew up on that canal. There is no public boat ramp on that canal. If you want to catch some Bass you will need a black artificial worm that has a red tail. If you want to catch Specs. you will need live minnows with a float. You can also catch catfish and brim or bluegill with live worms using a Carolina rig or cane pool with a float. As you enter the canal stay within 50 yards of Lake Eustis and fish the left bank as you enter. Use your trolling motor as you approach the fishing spot I talked about. That canal goes all the way to Haynes Creek Road which is about 3 miles down the canal. I caught a lot of fish in that canal when I was a kid. I graduated from Tavares High School back in 1975. Its good to see this on RUclips. Keep it up.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Cool man! I'm right down the road at Shady Oaks RV/MH Park. Fishin been bad lately, no ones catching anything- and there all after specs- but it will get better! Thanks again & Stay Tuned! Happy Holidays !
Where I live, we just had a storm come in that dropped 13" of rain, and it's been cold and windy. That Florida weather looks mighty nice to me right now!!
Too, you should get with the high-tech times and get yourself a GPS chart plotter / fish finder (or at the very least just an electronic fish finder) so you can more easily see where them fish are hiding. Those bigger & deeper open water lakes are much harder to find where they're at! The sonar fish finders will help you identify those "honey holes" a lot better than just using your ol' calibrated smeller eyeballs. Get one & learn yourself how to read sonar imaging. Plus, you'll get hooked on the added boating feature of GPS navigation tracks & saved waypoints to get you back to your newfound fishing favorite spots and get you home by following your tracks backwards. Much more safely, too. You can use it to mark & avoid underwater hazards, points of interest, fuel stations, restaurants, etc.! Very handy pieces of equipment, they are. 😊 Don't forget, your used to a different lake where the fish in it are used to a different water environmental conditions. You were able to troll at faster speeds with good results within that particular lakes waters & environment. But, that don't automatically mean you will be able to have the same results in a different lake that you are not used too. I suggest, you should at least try varying different trolling speeds to see what affect it may... or may not have. 😊
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. I'd luv to have a better fish finder then the one I've got but don't really feel the need- they're either there or they're not- they're either hitting or they're not-- Like I said in the video there were fish on that first bank, but didn't hit anything I threw at them-- Also your phone will actually work as a digital barometer if you want to get real technical Hahaha-! The video was a goof on Thanksgiving not about my fishing technique. If you read the comments you'll see who "Got It" and who actually took the time to watch the video and who didn't. There's been many times I've just deleted hours of video (at Fairview) because the fish weren't hitting- and I was going to delete all this too, but I've been busy and hadn't posted any videos in over a week. While I was having my Thanksgiving Dinner the idea came to me. So I edited through the 5 hours of video. My channel is listed under Entertainment not How to's.. I'm just telling my story- there's a beginning a middle and an end. I'm guessing you didn't make it to the end either- It's funny! like it was suppose to be. It amazes me! I have to explain this again. The Rattle Trap is a dead bait- it sinks straight to the bottom- depth and weed height is going to determine trolling speed to stay above the weeds- plain & simple! Sorry I edited out catching weeds- Not! I've had many people comment over the years that they couldn't believe how I was catching so many fish trolling at 4 mph. Not my first rodeo with the Rattle Trap- one of my favorite baits. I have the videos to prove it! Hahaha! Sure every situation is different and being the actual first time doing some fishing here and only my second time on the lake its going to take awhile to figure this big place out- like I said in the video I know nothing about this place. I hit all the spots and then some that the locals were fishing- They all gave me the thumbs down on catching anything, so I wasn't alone. Like I said too, back to back coldfronts could really screw the fishing up and it did. Anyway if I had caught fish like I'd hope to the Thanksgiving Fishing Story would have not happened the way it did. Either way I was able to get a video out of it! And that was my goal! Thanks again & Stay Tuned !
@THISOLDOUTBOARD1 very good. Is your "fish finder" a chart plotter and electronic one? Or, is it the calibrated eyeball & "by the snoot" only challenge type? I still highly recommend considering the purchase of an electronic GPS chart plotter / fish finder if you don't already have one. They have a lot of very good & useful additional boating & fishing features that expand navigation & fishing enjoyment. Especially useful when exploring new waters. (Like my previous recommendation to install an engine tachometer.) I've had a GPS chart plotter / fish finder for several years now. And, I got used to all the extra benefits that come with it. Very useful features like depths, water temperatures, barometric pressure, bottom contures, underwater structures, drop-offs, etc. depending on the make, model & price range you choose! I think you would also come to like & value what would be gained. My boating & fishing have gained even more dimensions to the fun of this hobby & past time since I've added this equipment. Just another well-meaning suggestion... for what it's worth! 😊
This time of year you need to venture North to rodman reservoir, a bucket of shiners and a bucket of minnows, speck fishing and largemouth at the same time. You'll go back home with a big mess of fish 🐟🎯
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! I talked to one of the "Spec Guys" that lives here. Thats all he fishes for. He said nothing going on yet. But I'm sure it will!
Man…. If you keep down dead river to lake Harris we might cross paths. I live on the Harris side of dead river. Small world. If I see you out I’ll holler at ya.
What a Nice Thanksgiving and No Political arguments 😅👍 a perfect ending you will find them fish probably talk to a local usually there's that one lure that mimics the most common bait in a water way they can't resist 🤞
Happy Thanks Giving! 80 degrees sounds nice to me……I’m up in NJ and about a week ago I winterized the boat and covered it until next spring. It got down to 32 yesterday…..I have about 5 more years until I can retire. Fla is looking real good to me.
So, what temperature do you call a cold front? I think you should have a nice mid 50's OMC 5.5 7.5 0r 10Hp for trolling. that would be a better backup Eng. if you're a long way for home
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! It's not what I call it- it's what they predict. This next one coming in tomorrow will be down in the 30's in ocala, 40's for us again- It's the wind that will getcha!
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! It's the Harris chain, Lake county. Check out the last episodes for the first runs. Haines Creek and all. Much bigger then Lk. Fairview!
No I don't Bill. HAhaHa! You've been subscribed to my channel for 5 years, you should know by now I run a Rattle Trap fast and I've caught lots more Bass that way. Hahaha an inch underwater. The trick is to let out a lot of line so it sinks to the depth you want to the speed your running. Come on man...
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! No I'm not. Hahaha Go watch any of my vids and you'll see What I mean and how many fish I've caught in just the last few years. It amazes people that I troll a Rattle Trap 4 mph! Yet I catch lots of fish! Thanks again !
