I’m awaiting mine any day now. It’s made and awaiting despatch to my dealer. I’ve gone for a black one with matching roof and no stripes and black wheels.
I think people would buy this for the quirkiness and not for the traffic light grand prix. For the price brand new, what would people want, this or a golf gti?
If you want it for the singularity, there are three cheaper variants, starting from the one at 75hp. (Plus, I'd bet the Countryclub, Countryman, and standard but 5-door models will be these buyers' choice.) The faster Minis' purpose is not traffic light championships (nor lifestyle display, there are the other variants and models for that) but to help who buys a Mini because they want to enjoy a lot their driving time to enjoy it as much as possible. The GTI's is sensibly more highly priced than this - at least around my parts, where VW came up with the very... knightly idea to force a single variant choice: 5 doors + DSG gearbox, adding some €3000 to the price tag. The Cooper S is a better choice, provided one is a keen driver, and doesn't have to use it as his only vehicle/have a family to carry around, because in the Mini, essentially, you don't have a boot, and rear seats room is limited.
No typo. Here is a photo of the results from the Vbox: performancedrive.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/2019-MINI-Cooper-S-auto-Vbox-result.jpg Keep in mind MINI claims 6.8 seconds for 0-100km/h. But in reality it is actually a lot quicker. Well, this specific vehicle anyway - a standard new model from the official MINI press fleet in Australia.
I'm quite clueless when it comes to specs. Can anyone please kindly explained to me how or why is this car (141kw, 280nm ) faster than say a V6 Camry ( 224kW, 362Nm) when it comes to 0-100 times?
The mini weighs half a ton less and it's gearing is a lot more suited to sport then the camry's. Camry's performance is great because it's not really a sports car, but this mini is a little pocket rocket. There are faster little hot hatches but no faster metrosexual hot hatches
Launch control, and dual-clutch automatic. These transmissions really help when it comes to timed performance we find. They just change gear so quickly, with virtually zero loss in acceleration. CVT transmissions, while smoother, don't seem to be all that responsive off the mark.
@@fuhjrvr7474 nah bro. btw i know what the problem is. i have a cooper s, but with a normal automatic gearbox, thats also without the paddles on the steer. If u have sport automatic gearbox then you will have launch control.

There are LOADS of JCW’s on RUclips. I’ve struggled to find many vids on the Cooper S, and when I have done they’ve had JCW exhausts and other tweaks and so, as I’m awaiting delivery of my 2020 Cooper S within the next week, this is what I want to see, although I’ve gone for the ‘classic’ spec which is the mid range one. This one on the vid is top spec judging by its seats. Mine won’t have that flat boot ‘shelf’ and I think it has 16” wheels.
I managed to hit 6.5 with mine before stage 1 after stage 1 it hit sub 6 but my brothers stage 3 is comparable of a golf r but his is the mini gp mine is only the s
Nice to know can be faster than their official spec.
Always are
getting mine next month with 7 speed auto, cant wait
how is it so far?
Just about to order one! Great clip - thanks.
did you get your Mini?

amazing: 0-100: 6.3 sec
vkgiotis I and have good brakes
Wow! Pretty quick!
How do you get those pops and bangs? I dont hear anything on my cooper s 2018 in sport mode.
My 2012 Mini Cooper S does the pops and bangs when revving. I just put it in sport mode and it bangs and burbles like by back end in the morning :-)

I got mines used 25 for 7k miles pretty good out the door
This has to be a mistake. Never ever did a 192hp Mini Cooper trap at 100mph. 90-92 at best! Even the JCW isn't that fast.
We test all cars with a Racelogic Vbox Sport - a renowned GPS-based data logger.
@@PDriveTV You must have made a typo then on trap speed.

@@PDriveTV Maybe it is slower with the manual gearbox (trusty sources give a 7,2s time for 0-100 km/h against the claimed 6,8s, on manual).
It was actually 99.85 mph 😉. Most Cooper S's have a trap speed of about 94-96 mph. It's not that far off. Maybe it's a strong one from the factory.

Does that one come with the petrol particle filter or is that just for us in the EU =/
it should NOT have it YET, the new 2020 models will have it (in EU)
I didn't realise their automatic is a dual clutch🤔
Only since the union jack lci refresh.
Do all the cooper S's have launch control?

I wonder how fast the JCW is then.

i understand the times are not from the video's runs, but there's a pretty decent discrepancy in this case.. why so slow on vid?

gearbox dsg or cvt?

The 2020 non us ones yes they dont pop and sound muffled
Would it be legal to delete it on this cooper s
Benny yes but i dont think u can since its integrated in the fuel pump i think just remove the catalyc converter and add an exhaust
Turbo S meh. Cats are good for the environment 🥰
My stock 2020 S does 0-60 in 6.3 seconds.
