Great review Joe, not too keen on the colour though! I’m sitting in my home ..in England ...yes it’s raining as write this!! I would like to confirm the following body parts ( at least from a Uk perspective!) the bonnet is at the front ..what you guys call an hood,. The boot is at the back,. The front sides are wings and under the doors is called the skirts.
The Mini is made in Oxford - middle England. I live south of Birmingham (Brum) in Malvern (Malvern is where the Morgan car is made. - check out their 3 wheeler V8 car!) The Mini was originally made in Birmingham at the Longbridge factory (1959 to 2000) then the dosing and rights to the Mini were sold to BMW. My Uncle worked at the factory and it often says that the Mini was literally given away,. The Uk Government should have stepped in to protect the heritage!
I have owned a Cooper S hatch for 6 years from new and have never had any problems, who says the Mini is unreliable!? This isn’t true whatsoever, I plan to keep my car indefinitely knowing at some point it will appreciate in price. I am however planning on buying the new manual Mini Clubman JCW 4x wheel drive in British racing green ..in about 4 years time. I am hoping though that Mini have revised the the engine to hybrid and I will be able to plug it in a well as fill her up with fuel.

Plus, it has a over boost function that brings torque to-220 to foot pounds.... it's hard to find information on it but when you look at the horsepower torque meter in the center screen you can see at times putting out well more than 207 foot pounds.

I had a 2017 Clubman Cooper S and loved it. Those rear "panel doors" were unique and made it cool. I traded it for a 2 door Hardtop because I wanted a stick, otherwise I would have kept it for a fun road car.
Is the rev hang a deal breaker? I’m interested in the 6 speed but hear there is some rev hang. Any input would be great. Thanks
Too bad they stopped the ice blue paint. Looked great combined with white hood and mirrors. Just bought a 23 hardtop S. Got it in the new Mineral White with black roof and mirrors and it came with 2 black stripes on hood.

About your suggestion about RPM gauge instead of Speed, why don’t MINI set it as an option??
RPM gauge at main circle, while putting temperatures and fuel gauges vertically on side one.
Can't wait to buy this for $15,000 in a few years.

I would get a Cooper S and just tune it. For so much less than a JCW, you can something a little bit more powerful with the same F series engine

Have to disagree about one thing; SO thankful the Speedo is in the middle with the tach on the side. How often do you really ever look at a tach when you're shifting? It's interesting on occasion but I need the speedo easily viewable multiple times doing every drive. And not that little square digital box that they include in the bottom of the analog speedometer. Just my .02.

I wish one day BMW make rounded screen for MINI, with buttons along its perimeter from 4 clock to 8 clock, with except for Hazard and Lock buttons at 12 “top” and volume dual at 6 “bottom”.
I know I’ve said it before but whenever I see a Mini I think of the movie “The Italian Job” and the chase scene using Mini’s. It may be fun to drive but it’s not for me. Nice job Joe!👍🏻🇺🇸

@@DS..69 I had mine for 12 years. Ordered directly from the factory. Had 170K miles on it when I traded it in. Never had a problem with it. Normal wear and tear and proper maintenance.

3:50 you meant to say 'boot' area not bonnet. As for the Mini, it is over designed and way too busy. The lower front grill looks like those ducts were a slapped on afterthought (the basic Mini front grill looks much better). The interior is a discombobulated mess. All of those weird shapes look like it was designed by 3 different people. BMW should scale back and 'simplify' the interior and keep it easy on the eyes - like the original Mini was. Great video though. Two thumbs up.

As someone who owned a cooper s 4 door would you agree the 3rd gen Mazda 3 drives very similar? It’s a tiny bit slower but it’s a much bigger car with way better materials and comfort. Loved the character of the mini but a Mazda is a good mini alternative imo.
I plan to keep the Mazda until it dies so I can get an actual 2 door jcw and have a true mini! 👍🏻

My advice is to get the Mini Cooper and save money. You’ll have just as much fun, it’s less bhp at 130, but it’s a light vehicle. I don’t like the idea
of the false vent, which does nothing, and the false body work on the lower rear.

Do you mean a parking assistant? My MINI Cooper S, which is not Ice Blue Edition, produced in January 2019 for European market, but also manual shift gear has the parking assistant. Probably it is a question of market or edition (?)

Power Seats in a Small MINI just adds unnecessary weight. It's a Hot Hatch not a Luxury Sedan even though BMW wants you to think that. You said the same thing about the Knights Edition JCW and I had to stop the video😄

Its not a side marker, its a scuttle. cooper s not 228 , 192 also nice. the bumpers en side skirts are the jcw aero pack. nice car, ice blue pack not very impressive, just like Knight Edition.
