  • The Green Heart of Holland is a rural area located in the western part of the Netherlands. It's characterized by its expansive polder landscape, dotted with picturesque villages, farms, rivers, canals, and lakes. The region is called the "Green Heart" because it forms a green oasis amidst the urbanized areas of the Randstad, which includes cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht. It's often considered an excellent region for cycling due to its relatively flat terrain, well-maintained bike paths, and scenic routes. A ride around the green heart is uniquely Dutch. One will not find anything similar outside the Netherlands. This ride offers a delightful experience for both leisure riders and avid cyclists alike. It takes you past charming villages, farm fields, windmills, and alongside canals.
In this ride-along video, you ride at the speed of a trained cyclist. If you want to ride at your own speed, please look below for how you can make that possible with our indoor cycling app Open Road.
Keywords: Tarmac, River, Channels, Countryside, Dyke, Polder, Windmills, Farmland, Loop
Take your indoor cycling to the next level with our indoor cycling app Open Road:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for Windows. The app lets you ride the ride for real and provides a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on RUclips. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data displayed during the training session.

    Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But with music, opinions are very mixed. So we have added no music. Instead, we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute RUclips and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, RUclips, etc…) pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride...

Thank you Frederic. We hope one day to travel to Taiwan and film there too. Any suggestions on what to film besides the route of the KOM Challenge?

I loved this video. Nice and steady, and flat. Sometimes I need hills and mountains and sometimes I just need steady. I love all of the bike the world videos.❤

Are you on an unassisted bike and what is your cruising speed on the flat?

May i suggest you put a wind sock over your microphone, or maybe a piece of foam or fake fur to cancel out the wind, because i love the quality of your video's and the sound could be really good, but the wind noise is a bit too much and if it can deter me, it can do so to others! 😕🤷🏻‍♂️
By the way, it's a good investment, because it's windy in the Netherlands, as you know! 🤪✌🏼

Volume down = no wind ;-)

Thank you for your kind suggestion. It actually has a 'dead kitten' mounted, but the wind just seems to be too strong for this set-up to cancel the wind...

Thank you for your concern. We use a ultra-wide-angle wide angle lens to capture more of the scenery, but when objects come close, they look ultra close. So no reason to worry.
