  • The Auris Balcony Road is a scenic mountain road in the French Alps. It winds its way through the picturesque countryside, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and villages. As you cycle along the route, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush forests, and charming alpine villages. The road attracts tourists from around the world. You start the ride in Bourg d’Oisans and for a short while you follow the same route as the world-famous climb to Alpe d’Huez. You turn off, follow the famous balcony road, and climb with amazing views of the valley of Bourg d’Oisans. This is one of the most enjoyable parts of the ride. As you leave the balcony road, the amazing view continues all the way up to Col de Cluy.
In this ride-along video, you ride at the speed of a pro rider. If you want to ride at your own speed, please look below for how you can make that possible with our indoor cycling app Open Road.
Take your indoor cycling to the next level with our indoor cycling app Open Road:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for Windows. The app lets you ride the ride for real and provides a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on RUclips. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data displayed during the training session.

    Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But with music, opinions are very mixed. So we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute RUclips and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, RUclips, etc…) pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride. We have left the original sound of the ride out. This is because of the noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing drowns the natural sound of the surroundings.

I’m recovering from Covid and though the weather’s nice outside, prudence called for an indoor ride. What a great way to get back on two wheels and with such great scenery. The music I was initially leery of but you balanced it with my projection of the climb so the pedal strokes were keeping the same beat. Can’t wait to start more rides with BtW.

Who convinced you to play “music” during your videos??? No offence but I couldn’t peddle 30 seconds listening to that….it’s impossible to pick something to please everyone- go back to SILENCE

Thank you for your comment. Adding music is an experiment. And very interesting statistics show this video is more popular than any other video we have published in the last year.
No matter the kind of soundtrack (natural, music, etc) we always encourage to add one's own music to the ride. It is easily done by muting the soundtrack of the video.

Yep, I mute the soundtrack and have my own playlist. Great scenery! Many thanks! @@BiketheWorld
