In this video, I’ll share ten more watches that for me simply look a lot more expensive than their retail prices would indicate. This is not to say they’re all affordable, but all of these present impressive examples of how brands can pack watches with value at a range of price points.

Teddy, thanks for making videos for us folk without tens of thousands to splash on luxury watches. Watch enthusiasts don't have to drop thousands to own incredible timepieces with a rich history and impressive quality. I absolutely love that Baltic watch... may need to pick that up in the future!! Videos like this is what got me into watches in the first place!!
Great comment! Too often most videos on RUclips about watches are all focused on Rolex, PP, AP, VC and other very expensive brands that most of us cannot ever afford.
Any other channel: Affordable watches for less than $5000 USD.
@@xdvbgk45 You’re saying that most of us wouldn’t consider $4996.00 as “super-affordable”? 😏
I ordered the Baltic MR02 in Salmon back in January... it's set to come sometime in September. Totally worth the wait! I cannot wait!
i have a baltic aquascaphe and I love that watch it looks amazing on different straps too.
NEXT: 10 Watches That Are More Expensive Than They Look.
1. Any Rolex sports watch
@@sauerkrautjr or any richard mille 😂😂😂
Here we go,
1. Rolex Submariner
2. Richard Mille all of them
3. Cartier Tank, classic design, but doesn’t say it’s $10K to $35K
4. Omega deVille - all the quartz movements for ridiculous prices
5. Omega Constellation- quite a few of them
6. AP - Royal Oak
7. Many Tags
10. Hublot… missed it the first time 😂
@dgdave2673 what about Hublot? Don't they have watches for like £10k with a Selita movement? Also, I think Nomos should be on that list too, although they are quite tasty in design, they also kinda look a bit generic. I think because of fashion watches often look a bit similar. I do like Nomos a lot because of their extreme anti-bling designs. If you wear a Nomos, you kinda saying "I loke watches, I have a bit of money, but I don't like flashing it around.". Probably a perfect watch for when you go to a gathering of random idiots you don't care about, but maybe there's a chance there's another watch nerd there who will see it and come up for a nice chat about something meaningful.
@@dgdave2673Anything Grand Seiko .
If you want nice dress watches I would suggest Seiko's "cocktail" series, called Presage. They are under $1000 and look much more expensive than the price. Another hidden gem is Frederique Constant. They make watches with automatic movements that look pricey. Most watches are under $6000, with some watches at the $2500 mark. One brand I am newly impressed with is Oris. They are making nice watches with colorful dials.
Agree on all points!
Good call on Oris, but their 'salmon' dial new watch is still pricy.
This why Teddy is the only watch related channel where i have notification bell on....watches are not only rolex ap etc...people can also afford good quality watches without selling a Kidney...
Here in México Mido it's a very well know brand. Actually the Mido commander 1959 it's an icon in mexican families because everybody had a grandather, an uncle or a dad that used to use, or still use a golden mido commander 1959
I immediately have to add the Seiko Presage (particularly the Cocktail Times) - I have the Skydiving version (light blue) with the date sub-dial and power reserve indicator - and it looks stunning. Pre-owned I only paid £250 too!
The pink dial SRPE47 has been on my list for a long time. Will hopefully get my hands on it soon.
I have One...it has an Eye Lash stuck to the Crystal
@@highwaystar3780 that sucks. See if they'll replace or repair it.
That is a good watch.
@@Mikesmeyer88 it's ok....I like looking at it. It tells me what Shit Quality Control it was made under. Mass produced piece of Shit.
Beggars can be choosers. I love the phrase and very well put I must admit.
Totally agree on the Seiko 5. Picked up a SRPD about a year and a half ago, put it on rubber and I just LOVE IT! Every once in awhile I think I'm at the stage in my watch journey to upgrade to something 'nicer' and with a 4k movement but then I look down at my wrist and realize this Seiko just suits my personality perfectly. Great watch!
I think the Duro, for which I paid $40, is the most incredible deal for a great looking beater watch. I have many watches, all way more expensive, yet I still wear the Duro quite often.
where did you get it for $40
@@roeseldelgado Amazon, black dial
I didn't like the mirror finish on the sides of my duro, so I took a piece of scotchbright and buffed it to a satin finish, which I ended up liking more. But my reasoning was this: if I didn't like the results, I'd just by another one, since they cost only about $50. This thing is so solid for the price I'm surprised there isn't more of a modding community for it.
I love my duro as well
A nice showcase of brands to chose from along with guides in the descriptions. A great source for both novices and more experienced enthusiasts. When it comes to telling time, the Longine Master Calendar says it all! I tried one one in a watch store in Barcellona. It's still my all-time favorite Longine.
I love watching you channel because as a kid I was always into time pieces.
Got the Casio Duro MDV-106A and I absolutely LOVE IT! It's built very well and the rotating bezel is nice and stiff! Just put a metal band on it and you're golden! You CANNOT go wrong with this!
The Longines master collection Chrono full calendar is also a strap monster. A surprising one. And that Louis Erard is amazing guilloche! That dial alone is worth more.
some strap suggestions?
@@mj-kx2kw Honey or mustard coloured Epsom leather straps from Delugs. Orange Buttero, Navy and Olive Green Pueblo. Also a nice light brown alligator looks great. Monstraps and Delugs offer good options in 21mm.
The Mido for me, that Blue dial is just stunning. Thank you for the great videos
Awesome! your potential seems limitless. I'm fascinated with investing but being a single mother and juggling all these things are quite difficult. How best can I start and what sector to engage in?
@Bryan wow! do you think you can give me some advice on how to invest in a healthy way as you are doing? Please
@Bryan Thanks for sharing, just looked up
on google and I'm super impressed with her credentials. I dropped a massage on her webpage and hope she replies soon.
Don’t wait until the market skyrocket again then you start biting your fingers wishing you made the decision to invest. bought my third house already, earn on a monthly through passive income and got 4 out of 5 goals, just hope it encourages someone that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have any of them right now, you can start TODAY regardless your age INVEST and change your future! Investing in the financial market is a grand choice I made.
Am not good doing it alone but getting into the market has been my best decision so far in my road to financial independence as it turns out to be lucrative for me and Personally I have multiple streams so I just enable the use of an investment advisor to navigate and secure the returns
Woah, Though this is the first time i would be reading comments about my financial advisor Ms. Melisa on RUclips comments and it is quite a memorable insight.
Anordain has a 2 year waiting list for their watches. As cool as they are, I would not consider them “attainable”.
Teddy, please cover Alba watches. They have been in the market since 1979 but are mostly not discussed. They are an awesome 'budget' alternative to Seiko and your covering them will bring the shine to the brand and coverage!! :)
Great video for people who go out and work a 9 to 5 ! Great video!
TIME STAMPS, MY FRIEND, USE THEM.
Hey love the content. Just an idea. As its summer, would love to see a colour themed series. E.g the best blue dials at different price points. I collect mainly by ticking off colour gaps rather than watch types. Some watches lend themselves better to some colours, eg. I'd never had looked at a breitling before the pistachio. Blue, green, gold, black, red would be great.
I have a blue Duro - with a better strap, it looks far more expensive than it is. I also have a Seagull 1963 - mine came with a nato and a vintage leather strap - it looks better on leather. I paid $138 for the Seagull on an Ali sale. Insane bargain for a column wheel mechanical chrono with a stunning dial. A real charmer of a watch that always receives compliments.
Are you sure its an official Seagull? I wanna buy one but i heard about those types of sales especially for the Seagull watches and people are warning that they're usually fake. The official ones are around 300usd if im not mistaken.
@@LK25278 I have also wanted the Seagull, but am not so sure now for a couple of reasons: 1. servicing could cost more than the actual watch 2. I recently watched a video by another German reviewer (Jenni?) - the front crystal fell off, probably as the result of poor quality glue. Lovely looking watch that appears cheap until problems start to happen.
@@kanedavidson Hm, really? I've heard about all the fakes and their bad quality, but i heard the official ones are quite good quality. I need to watch that video then. :(
But yes, the servicing is basically more expensive than the watch, but people on reddit say it holds up quite nicely. Its a gamble.
I got 1963 on Ali express. Amazing watch for the money. I also have Duro had for 10 years. Had to change strap twice otherwise it help up to a lot of snorkeling.
@@LK25278 i think seagull doesn’t make them anymore and you can get them through factory reissues which is where you see the 300 dollar ones. Distributors do their own QC which explains why some sell it for a lot more than others
Pulled the trigger on the master calandra today! 42mm black dial with the Column wheel and 66hrs. 3 grand CAD. So happy and can’t wait for delivery tomorrow as per chrono 24. Been saving and researching for months now. And I simply can’t see more horology for the money. And it’s beautiful.
That anOrdain model 1 Plum Fume is the one that attracts me the most
I personally think the longines flagship along with a number of other watches like ball deserve a mention here.
I have 2 Duros, one from a Clearance Sale at Walmart and a 2nd from a local Walmart that was being closed. Love them! They look good and are extremely readable in any light. The lume lasts all night just fine.
I have a few straps for them but my favorite and most comfy one is a nylon NATO strap. I have small to medium wrists and the watch just wears well on it. I cut off the 3rd leg of the NATO strap so the watch would ride closer to my wrist.
Off topic but I don't see the rationale of having that.
NATO straps really suit the duro. I rock an olive coloured strap
Blue and black dials?
@@joshs3916 Just black with the black bezels.
9:45 honestly this watch looks way cheaper than it is! looks like a 200 dollar watch!
Seiko, Orient, Citizen, Timex, Seagull, Casio... these are the true kings of value to looks ratio because they've mastered the art of mass production!
microbrands, hand-crafted pieces and lesser known companies usually are not good value, but they are unique!
Love this list. Zelos and Longines are the ones I look to have in my roster in the short term.
Thanks for sharing!
I have every color Duro except the all blue, I love these watches. I’ve put bracelets on all but the black dial; it’s kind of my rough and tumble watch, and I have to say that the resin strap is much better than I thought it was. Just cool watches that look good and feel good because every time you glance at your wrist, you remember that you didn’t foolishly spend thousands of dollars for the same look and if you ding it on a door frame, you don’t have to cry in front of your friends 🤷🏼♂️ highly recommend.
rose engine and straight line engine videos are super fascinating and staggering
Love the Casio Duro. Future classic. Your example hit the 12 o'clock position perfectly!
I have watches in all price ranges but I absolutely love the Duros. I bought the whole set and it gives me a great deal of pleasure mixing and matching all kinds of bands on them. That’s what the hobby is all about.
Apple Watch better
@@mehshutup3041 yes. It is technologically superior to all the other ones mentioned. I don’t disagree, there.
The guilloche on that Longines chrono is amazing.
I own dozens of very high end watches, yet most days I reach for one of several $350 Stuhrling's first. My new favorite is the Depthmaster Heritage 883H blue/orange bezel diver. It not only looks expensive, but the quality and wrist feel is unsurpassed.
I like my Stuhrlings as they look expensive for the price point.I’ve had mine for almost 20 years with only one failure.
I own the GO Panomaticlunar green version. Hot damn, now that is one bloody sexy watch (much more so than the white one featured here). Even better, GO is trading below retail now so you'll probably be able to pick one up cheaper than the price Teddy listed here.
I have to agree with your comment on the Longines Master Calendar Chronograph, for the money to my knowledge there is nothing that can touch it for the number of mechanical complications that is readily available. It looks and wears great as well. I would love to the that Louis Erard piece, I could look at that dial over and over and still have to look again to tell the time as it's just fascinating.
I also own the Longines. Its only downside is that it can be difficult to read the time when hands are close to the date hand and chrono hand.
Yep, I have 42mm on brown aligator leather strap and it's just beautiful :)
@@enrikomalinak8328 Mine is a 40 also on the brown leather strap. I think the 42 has a larger crown that makes winding a lot easier, mine takes a little effort but being an automatic I rarely have to wind it.
*do a reverse title also*
'Expensive watches that looks cheaper'
I love the GO at the end. I really think it should be my next watch. I’m so excited about leaning away from steel sports pieces.
Teddy non parlo Inglese purtroppo ma tu sei il numero 1 degli youtuber in questo campo
I love my Gold Duro, and my 7-3/4" wrist allows it to look normal on my wrist. Unless you are using it for diving, swap out the band. Mine is very accurate. It runs between +/- 1 to 2 seconds a month. I bought from Amazon, three months ago, for $40 USD.
Good list Teddy! Love my Casio Duro. If it breaks I'll just get another one, but I'm never embarrassed to wear it. Seiko SKX and Orient Bambino (open heart) are also a few of my favs.
Thumbs up if you agree that Teddy should show his wrist shot every video! I never know what is he wearing!
Mido has a big market share in México, maybe because its name is in spanish and they are affordable, also Tissot used to have a big market share maybe because its name resemblance to a traditional nahuatl male name (Tizoc), mama got one on ealy 70s for academic achievement. Longiness, Citizen and defunct Elgin, Steelco and Haste were also ubiquitous. Ricardo Salinas Nivada (not Nivada Grenchen) has lots of penetration since mid 90s.
3 out of 10 in this video. The Seagull 1963 is truly spectacular for the money. I have also another microbrand watch with the HZ5000 movement (Solas Starlight) and the Longines MCCM which is one of the best looking affordable watches in the market. I have a seroius crush on the Glashutte Panomatic Lunar, but I doubt I will ever be in a positiion to afford it. All the other watch suggestions were fantastic choices. Great video for the more humble collectors like me.
It's nice to see some out of price range watches but the ones 1000 and under are great options to actually buy.
I have a Mido 600m ocean star awesome watch it’s a chronometer and a longines conquest. Great price!! Awesome watches. Don’t forget the Formex field.
Hey Teddy I seen I was short listed for a prize well I am texting you back😀 hope this right thanks and I love your channel.
Thanks for your input , just purchased HAMILTON green dial field watch, love it for under $500, wind it every day and on my wrist!
I love my Island Time Islander diver. Great watch for $300. Sapphire, solid bracelet, ceramic bezel, 200m, Seiko auto, waffle style dial.
This was one of your best videos to date. Awesome job, Teddy.
Just bought that Longines master last week. Already have 3 others in the list
On the Erard, I was waiting for Qbert to come hopping down the matrix. ;) The Glashutte, they have so many pieces beyond the usual German austere appearance, and yet, maintain proper German precision. I adore the half satin case. It really is the crown in the video. Thanks for bringing this to us Teddy.
Thank you for these types of videos. I plan on buying a Bulova I found on your site very soon for only $400 and it looks amazing.
I am so glad that we have accurate watches and radios in the 21st century. I am traveling through Ohio tonight on Amtrak’s capital limited from Washington DC to Chicago. Wearing my Hamilton Broadway 42 mm day date.
Nice content as always teddy!
I actually ordered that seiko GMT for myself yesterday... it will be the most expensive piece in my collection, and with the beautiful half blue, and half black bezel, it will most likely quickly become my favourite watch. Originally I started watching watching these watch videos again to prepare for my next watch purchase, as it has probably been over a year since I last bought one, and I can’t remember where I saw it first, but I saw what is nicknamed the “Batman” Rolex, and immediately fell in love with the half blue and black bezel, but I also immediately knew that as a regular 21-year-old, the “Batman” Rolex is not a realistic choice... So I started my hunt for a watch with a similar bezel, and from a more affordable, whilst still reputable brand... and that’s when I came across what I’ll be calling the, Seiko GMT “Batman”... and it was love at first sight, the only semi negative thing I thought, was that I originally wished it had a black dial like the Rolex Batman, just so that the blue in the bezel pops out even more... but later that day I saw a video where you actually had the exact watch in the thumbnail, and already I felt a rush of adrenaline, and it was called “building the perfect watch collection for $9000”... and already knowing how honest and quality your advice is when it comes to watches, I was over the moon when I saw it come up in the video and you listed one great feature after another... and whilst my interest was grabbed by the beautiful look of the watch, your explanation of how truly complex and quality the internals of the watch are, is what fully sold me on the beautiful timepiece that is, The Seiko GMT Batman... I quite honestly never even thought about how much more complex the internals have to become to accommodate the 24 hour hand that has to travel at half the speed of the other hour hand... also, I was probably already sold enough on it to buy it... but then you throw the cherry on top and say that you might even pick one up for yourself... and considering you can probably dabble in quite the high price ranges for watches, I find the idea of it still having a place in your collection as one of the biggest compliments, and stamp of approval that you could give it... and then after making the online order for it yesterday and seeing you talk highly of it again on this new video, has me feeling that warm fuzzy feeling that I’ve made a smart purchase and I’m going to be very happy with every single aspect of it... and as far a blue instead of a black dial, I now realize after Teddy’s video, that this isn’t meant to be a copy of Rolex’s Batman, but instead, This is Seiko’s bad-a-s-s take on the equally bad-a-s-s, half blue and half black bezel, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but for my blue eyed self, the half blue and half black bezel will fit in with my style perfectly 😃 - also love to see you show off quality watches from every price range
Where did you find it? I’m in the US and it’s still not available on the US Seiko website. I’m sure there are other places to get it but this is odd!
Nice, I love that Baltic.
Check out Perpetual Watch Co., they make some really interesting watches with nice enamel and guilloche dials. The owner doesn’t like “fake” anything so things that are often simulated like blued steel are really heat treated blued steel and they are very affordable (most are $200-$500).
They do use seagull movements but each one is checked and regulated by Alex and his team. I’ve never had an issue with one of his and I’ve got a few.
That said you do have to be patient when it comes to shipping. He’s a bit of a perfectionist so it often takes much longer than the quoted timeframe before he’s satisfied and ships them.
Nice video but I think not mentioning Frederique Constant was quite an oversight. I think they are the most underrated brand in the segment tbh doing some great things at a very reasonable price point.
Totally agree, but I think the swill presage zen garden should be in the list too
4:48 on my wrist right now and 10:34 in my safe thanks to your recommendation!
The excellence moon phase chronograph from Louis Erard is an alternative to the Longines chronograph moon phase for about the same price.
It is a bit larger however (42 instead if 40) - which I usually don't really like - but in this occasion, because of the many information displayed, it is rather a pro in my opinion. I makes the dial clearer and more readable.
Thanks for the video Teddy. I'm definitely looking at picking up that Longines Master Calendar.
Wow the Longines and the Ghashutte were spectacular for the money. I will add these to my already very long wish list.
It doesn’t get a lot of love, but I think the Tudor Royal is a fantastic watch that looks a lot more expensive than it is. From a brand that has some cachet as well.
Some really beautiful watches. Great selection.
I love my 1963. It’s a watch that punches way above its price range and it’s such a unique watch to boot
Tell me what else looks like this
And the color way just sounds horrible but you see it and it’s beautiful
It took a moment for me to get over the fact that it’s cheaper to buy a new one than service it but that’s also a cheaper way to in effect service it by repo if the whole thing, and I probably will do that when the time comes
Stunner
I think the citizen tsuyosa can be on this list.
Nice video !
I ve got a Casio duro in black … it s definitely looks more expensive than it is and offers great functions
Love your videos and reviews! So simple and informative! I love watches....but I love them even more now after watching you! Thank you!
Thanka for the great content Teddy. I love learning about watches I can actually buy. Best watch channel by far!!
Great video and pics. The Panomaticlunar is definetly my grail dresswatch🥰
Great video Teddy! Makes me want to do some shopping!
Just sold my GO PanoLunar; I loved looking at it but didn’t love wearing it. But for the price that movement is fantastic
Can you elaborate further on why the wearing was so underwhelming? Thinking of getting one, so really interested in your thoughts on this. Thanks!
Thanks for introducing us to the Seagull 1963! It's a beautiful watch. I got the sapphire variant.
The Blue Casio Duro still gets more compliments than any other watch in my collection.
That last watch was really nice
Great content! It caters to the purchasing power of every market segment. Your explanation of each brand / watch / heritage really makes a difference.
Great video. Have the black face Duro, great daily, sun 16610 for the weekend. That mido was quite nice.
Totally agree with the Zelos. Super high quality
+1 for the Casio Duro
It has a depth and shine that cameras just can't capture
Would really enjoy seeing you give some love to Ball watches. I think they have some excellent pieces!
Thanks Teddy for your videos. I know a lot of people need or like small watches, but there are a lot of us who can't wear anything under 42mm because of our large wrists. Any chance you could make a top 10 video for larger timepieces? I would like to see something between 42 and 45mm. Thanks
Nice choices, Teddy. Bravo.
Great video, Teddy. I couldn’t take my eyes of the watch you are wearing yourself in this video and struggling to ID it. Would you mind sharing what it is?
Seiko GMT 5 Batman for me.
Perfection.
I couldn’t care less if it’s expensive for some.
Great choice; I am buying one next month.
@@alwayspooh1588 will be my first “serious” watch
great to see brands like Zelos get a bit more recognition lately. i think together with Christopher Ward , Baltic , Kuruno and Maen they are some of the best micro's in the market ATM.
I only want the Glashutte but unfortunately I still can't make this happen.
Teddy we love you!
I'd add also Glycine and Christopher Ward to the list
Panomaticlunar is my grail watch at the moment. They are selling for 6-7k in the secondary market
Another watch to consider is Wise Adamascus. Great quality for the price.
I have the Blue and “Pepsi” Casio Duro. Heck of a watch
Hey Teddy, i own the old Oris rectangular day date watch, and i am in love with it, will you make a video on rectangular watches 🥺 and if you do please start with the affordable ones 💸
Great video! I think Frederique Constant’s monolithic and other in house models are amazing value for money. Same with oris.
The Longines has been my first high end watch back in 2008...from Tourneau shop in Colombus NY.
Great watch to wear but I prefer it on a leather strap.
I had the Glasshute Original Panomatic Lunar about 5 years ago and sold it last year. Best quality for money. You can get it for 6/7k$ easily on the Grey market
Also Frederique Constant perpetual calendar. Small movement with a perpetual calendar for under 10k
My blue Casio Duro has a custom blue silicone strap. I get compliments every time I wear it, lol. Like $70 total...
The GO PanoLunar 😍😍😍
I love my HKED 1963. Stunning.
Christopher Ward for $1000.00 in dive watches is hard to beat....also Sartory Billard SB04 ...some stunning pieces...
The Longines Master Series has my attention.
I have the Casio Duro Batman and for around $50 it's an absolute awesome watch.
