Me too. It would be very easy for them to concrete over it to save maintenance costs. But instead they have left this piece of lawn instead of a drab piece of faceless concrete. And this isn't an area the public frequent either which makes it even more surprising.

Really interesting combination of tram and train tracks
You mean tram and metro tracks? They both are the same width…
I love the part in the beginning. The rails on the grass. It looks really pretty

I live in Oz and I can honestly say that our light rail system pales into insignificance compared to yours. I'm jealous. Great video and thank you
Population density is a major factor in putting money into infrastructure. Canada and Australia are among least dense countries on the planet.
From Australia as well. I think the Melbourne tram is worth to receive a big upvote.

Beautiful city
How is the electricity supply arranged? Trams consumes 600 V DC, trains consumes 25 kV AC. In the video I see crossing contact wire of both tracks.
These trams are multi voltage trams,
600 V DC on City Part
750 V DC on LightRail part
They switch between Beatrixkwartier and Laan van NOI

Why do some of the platforms have different heights?
High platform is for the metro vehicles en de low platform for the trams.

The Netherlands have 17 million inhabitants, we have the highest population density in Europe.
So most cities are close to each other.
